  1. Have him pull the firing pin block out and take it to the range and see if the problem goes away. I have the same problem with a Stock II that I set up with same parts. I pulled the firing pin block out and shot 500 rounds through it with no problem at all. I do think even with all the parts working right with that spring set up you need to make sure you use Federal primers. Please keep us posted.

  2. Tanfoglio sells rubber pads http://www.tanfoglio.it/shop/accessori/custodie-e-valigette/ac007-pad-gomma.html

Product code AC004 and available in various boring colors.

They are not pretty, but works well after a bit of work. I use them with Small Frame magazines in Production.

    Cons:

    1. Overpriced for a piece of rubber.

    2. Tandoglio sends crappy screws with them (together with replacement steel magazine plate with two additional holes drilled).

3 Unable to quickly disassemble on site (to clean magazine off sand, for exampe).

    4. 16th round is tough to insert.

    5. The pads are not flush with the magazine with the crappy crews and the pad itself randomly partially! disconnects itself from the magazine at most inconvenient time because of a single screw failure.

The solution is to use suitable screws to place head of the screw flush on the inside and fix it with a nut on the outside.

After the mod, 16 rounds are possible. 17th is really tough (to insert in the gun).

That's perfect! Thanks for the info.

  3. Looking for my 1st AR for general target shooting, maybe 3 gun in the future, or maybe even shooting a coyote or two. I know there's cheaper ones out there and better ones out there I just don't want to over pay for my first AR. So what would a gun in this configuration in good condition be worth?

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Caliber: 223 Remington

Metal Condition: Couple minimal handling marks

    Bore Condition: Bright and Sharp

    Barrels: 18 Inch, JP Supermatch

    Triggers: JP Trigger

    Stock: Magpul UBR Adjustable

    Fore End: JP Modular Forearm

    Butt Pad: Hard Rubber

    Weight: 10 Lbs

    Sights: Trijicon 3-9x40

  4. I used to own both guns and tried going back and fourth. In my experience it was hard to go back and fourth. The guns are different enough I would have to almost start from scratch when it came to griping the gun and mag changes. I don't know what it is but it seemed like the two grip angles are just different enough to make me fumble reloads. The SP01 also started biting me on the web of my hand after I shot the stock II a while. It was like I was trying to grip the SP01 too high. You can't go wrong with either gun. I ended up sticking with the Stock II do to less recoil and like Gump I love the checkered backstrap and front strap.

  5. I've tried the whole trigger finger thing on other guns and then purchased a Tanfo. Stock II. I worked my butt off both releasing the mag with my trigger finger and reversing the mag release so I could release the mag with my thumb. I'm personally so much faster releasing the mag with my thumb versus my trigger finger. I'm also a more consistant shooter after a mag change with my thumb because my grip seems to be more consistant with before the mag change if that makes sense.
