Dont even have to DQ for sweeping anymore, since “Attempting to clear a squib during a course of fire” is now a DQ under 10.5.20. I believe this was a change with the 2019 rules.

I would say the best practice after the range is clear is to go to the safe area (unless the RO designated another location specifically), and disassemble the gun if possible so that the squib rod can be inserted without sweeping anyone. That said, the sweeping rule is 10.5.5, which specifically refers to sweeping someone during the course of fire, so clearing it shouldn’t be a DQ as long as it’s done in a safe manner.

    What we normally do!

  2. Yesterday a shooter in another squad had a squib. Like performing a reload he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a squib-rod and inserted it into his barrel to clear his obstruction. Not sure when he was given the command to stop?

No, he normally does not have squibs.

You do realise it’s a hit factor game right? “Slow down & get your hits” is generally regarded as a poor strategy.

To date, every single M classifier I’ve shot has had one Delta, or a fistful of Charlies.

    Shooting minor.

    In Production.

When the A through GM hit factors come up above 8, you cannot afford to delay your shooting in order to shoot As. You have to go as fast as you can possibly shoot while staying in control, and rack up as many As as you can at that pace.

Then why is it when a shooter gets good hits on paper they are normally satisfied with their run? Then there's a shooter that has a smokin run but starts cursing & stomping when dropping points?🤡

I can’t believe that no one has recommended reading up on the Fundamentals of practical shooting?

If I had my time again I’d read Stegger’s books and actually learn what I should be doing. Then practice that.

Doing Bill Drills is a waste of time if you don’t know when you have it right or not.

All "A's" is a good sign you're on the right track.

I believe Ned said this to the girls in season 1

I was realizing that just after posting.  What I was really trying to question was maybe a heavier projectile would stabilize better at the slower velocity versus a lighter one.  Seems like the most fight is getting the lighter projectiles to be consistent and accurate.

Depends on your barrel twist. That said I still get good results with SMK 52gr JHPBT and a 1:9

    Disagree with yall on this.

Do any of yall cc your rifle or pcc?

There are practical reasons to have a 50yd target at a match. Some people live on big properties and some might take a 50yd shot. Good guys that are CIV have gotten into justified gunfights at 30yd to beyond 50yds. The LE couldnt hit the bad guys, but the CIV did.

If you need references, you can google. Bottom line, it has happened, it isnt that odd, and 99% of people do not cc a long gun or carbine. The frequency at which these longer targets turn up in matches (almost never) is darn fair.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you always should. But sometimes, you need to.

Oh you talking FO-REAL😬. no cc, not here in The Peoples Republic Of Hawaii🙄
