I seen a guy post a video about groups once that was pretty cool.  He (if that is how they identify) set up 2 targets.  One at 5 yards and one directly behind it at 25.  The results were pretty interesting.  just goes to show how small the group needs to be at 5 yards to create a good group at distance.  I understand that isn't super sciency but I thought it was pretty neat

That guy is mostly likely posting in the thread already. Jesse say Hi to TimH. 😉

According to Dillon, the powder check will detect "none vs double charge". It doesn't really check the accuracy of the charge. In 9mm, the case is pretty full with a typical charge and a double will spill over. A no charge is, well, pretty easy to see. So if you do a visual you should be good.

Bingo! If you think you are getting alarms for deviations of tenths of a grain you are fooling yourself. A visual check is all you need to confirm, that is really all the powder check alarm is doing anyway. If you don't want to hover over the press to do a visual check add an endoscope to the press and view it on a tablet or your phone for the visual confirmation on powder level. This can easily be done in the tool head hole used for the powder check rod and these days you can pick up an endoscope for like $20.

Oal is 1.15”, are you sure the nose of bullets aren’t dragging in mag as they stack towards bottom.

You can load beyond SAMMI max length with 9mm in metalform colt mags, like 1.20" +.  I have run RN profile out to 1.17" without issue.

Yes AR gold release PCC hammer, work in any configuration right now.

I have PCC hammer on my AR Gold.

Ummm what? They released a drop in PCC trigger or they released a replacement hammer for their current drop in triggers on the market? Your post is confusing.

Went up to the range and shot the gun again. Only used the mags that came with the gun. No issues. Extra Walther PPQ mags no bueno. ??????

If you have the Pro version the standard 15 rd mags will not work due to the magwell. I assume that is why the Pro version comes with 17 rd mags and specific mag base plates.

  6. I had something similar happen to me and when I dove into it I discovered I had some debris in my powder bar. It was small enough to fit into the powder bar but too big to drop through the powder die. It took up space where powder should have been and was moving around so the powder drops kept jumping around. When I emptied my powder hopper I saw it drop back into the jug so I ended up running all the powder in that jug through a sieve to remove it. After my incident occurred I added a funnel/screen to the top of my powder hopper.

Have you ever shot a benelli inertia shotgun? You can hold those loosely and get them to not cycle. Same concept depending on how you setup your recoil system.

Yes I know how an inertia shotgun works, blowback PCC's are not the same thing. You don't need inertia to unlock the bolt of a PCC like an inertia shotgun.

    Agreed.

I think the issue my brother had was he was holding it in pocket almost on his bicep and his arm was moving back. I had him square up to target and hold stock more into pec muscle and it works better.

It shouldn't matter where you hold it the gun should cycle even if it is not on your shoulder, arm, hip ect..... He should be able to hold it completely away from his body and it still cycle.

Thanks for all the great feedback, please keep it coming. I'm going to go with Glock over Colt and switch to 115gr based on replies thus far. I'm especially hoping to hear from those who have tested the CMMG radially-delayed as I want to start with the optimal operating system.

I run a guard barrel and bolt on a AR9 I put together. I have also run a blowback system. The guard has some advantages over a straight blowback gun out of the box with recoil impulse. It also takes out potential ejector problems you see in blowback as well as you won't have to worry about what trigger is compatible since it uses carrier very similar to a standard AR. Another advantage is it uses a DI AR firing pin and I don't know of anyone that has broken one, even with hard hitting triggers. I would suggest you get the complete CMMG guard and tune the buffer system to your shooting style. With the glock mags you have you will probably only need to add a couple big sticks and could use the same mag pouches you have now for glock mags.

Once this is done, the system will send you a receipt via email and also another email with an attachment containing the cover page to be sent with your fingerprints. The address to send your fingerprints will be in this cover letter too. You have 10 working days from submitting your form 1 to submit your fingerprints.

Those who are considering this do your fingerprints before you do submit in efile (FYI you will also need to upload a passport photo). ATF's system auto generates the response with the cover letter for fingerprints. If you do them ahead of time you can mail them out the same day you submit your form 1 and it will cut the turnaround time down. The last one I submitted was on at Saturday and still had a turnaround time of 12 calendar days.

Pretty sure it's touching the shell plate.  Need to shine a flashlight in there to really see though.

If you want to make sure you aren't running into a bulge issue set the press to cam over slightly when resizing a case. When you get a case gage pull a resized case out of station 2 before dropping powder and gage it, that will tell you if you are resizing to spec.

I'm going to try plunking them in my glock/sig barrels to see if it's a problem unique to the springfield RO barrel, i.e. do I need a shorter OAL etc.

Every barrel will accept a different COAL depending on bullet profile. To find each barrels exact max COAL take a case and cut two slits in the case mouth with a dremel, barely slide a bullet into the case and push it fully into your chamber. Extract the round without disturbing the bullet depth in the case and mic it. Run this several times to assure your results are consistent. Once you have that number subtract 0.10 in for variation and you have good target for seating depth on that bullet/barrel combination.

Had a hard time getting a good read on the crimp, but was reading in the .376-.379 range.

Your crimp results will vary depending on the brass you use. Not all brass is the same thickness at the case mouth.

Reeaally need a case gauge which help to see if it's a ammo issue or specific barrel issue...

There is not substitute for a quality case gage.

On stages requiring reloads do you use standard length mags OR shorter ones?

I use Colt type mags, 20s 32s and the longer ones with TF extensions.

Is there are logic for speed and smoother reloads using the 20s over the 32s with mandated reloads.

    TIA

I run colt mags and use 20 rd mags for reloads. I can reload the 20 rd mags like a pistol mag and get a good push on the bottom to assure seating. My 20 rd colt mags will actually hold 21 rounds but I download them to 18 so they leave the top of the mag catch window open for a positive lock when seated.

I shot one match with a mag well adapter and my SBR... the bolt hold open broke after the second lock back....

I do use a 10" .22lr CMMG upper/conversion on my SBR for Steel Challenge.... Vortex Venom on it and the PCC

You should never need the BHO in a free state where mag limits do not exist but If you want this function to work use spacers to limit the bolt travel just beyond the catch (1/4"). If the bolt gets a running start it will break the catch easily.
