  1. I practice with lead and it tends to be somewhat dirty. I have to constantly clean off the lens. Whats the best way of doing it??? I noticed it will scratch easily. The paperwork that comes with it states the stuff that gets on the lens tends to be hard and will scratch the lens when wiped off. They say just squirt it off. Flyin40
  2. Well I have done some more looking. The original quality was medium and I put is to DV-AVI 25Mbps. Thats the best one for quality. I also tried the Video for broadband 768Kbps which isn't bad quality and it ended up being about 1 mb. I only have windows movie maker, I have no other software. Flyin40
  3. I have some AVI?? video. One small stage is 51mb. How can I go about converting it so it will be smaller??? Flyin40
  4. I have been holding off on practing multiple targets in dryfiring and been working more on live fire for transitions. I think it has helped tremendously doing it this way. I also been working more on seeing the dot during live fire. I think after one more good live fire practice I'll go back to doing all the drills on dry firing. I have no doubt it will help but I was just practing dry firing the wrong way. I wanted to make sure I had it down before I go back. SA, I know you had the timer I noticed a big difference in that match with my transitions. I cut out dry firing on multiple targets for a couple weeks to get that double tap out of my head. I just concentrated on live fire. I had about 3 practice sessions in the last 2 weeks with live fire and I think it has helped. Flyin40
  5. I'm a lefty and I have a Beretta Ultralight. By far the best swinging and feeling shotgun I have ever owned. Weighs less than 6lbs, 5 3/4 actually. You can carry it all day long. Flyin40
  6. I worked on leading with the eyes on Tuesday. Its still going to take some work at it but I can really tell the difference in how it feels to leading with the eyes vs. eyes/gun together. Flyin40
  7. I use ultralight rod. Its a blast with the current of the river. Some of them are 16 inches. Think I'm going to go back Thursday and give it another try. Flyin40
  8. My cousin bought one of the red 012. He sand blasted it and put a gray finish on it. Man does it look sharp. Flyin40
  9. Had some fun today. Made a trip up north to the Sandusky River for the white bass run. It was kinda slow, only 25 in 2hrs. Wish the walleye were still running. White bass taste OK at best. Have to whip up some cajun batter and make it have some heat. http://uploads.fakeleg.com/perm/Whitebassrun.JPG Flyin
  10. Some good articles, thks for the heads up Flyin40
  11. For just spring adjustment, thats something I need to learn how to do. As far as hammer and sear work, that would go straight to the smith. I won't attempt that for awhile if at all. Flyin40
  12. By double tap I mean Draw, Bang-Bang.....................Bang-Bang....................Bang-Bang. Instead of Draw, Bang...Bang...Bang...Bang...Bang. Basically keeping splits and transitions close to the same. Both shots are aimed when I was double tapping. I would shoot 2 shots at a target with .17 splits and then transition with .30-.35 times. Now I try to keep it closer to the same time. I know dry fire will help but I was doing it incorrectly on transitions. I'm in the process of trying to break that habit. I really don't have a good feel for transitions. Live fire seems to be the best way to get it. Once I get a good grasp at transitions then I can transfer that too dry firing. Any input would be appreciated, Should I be also dry firing to break the habit also??? Flyin40
  13. Today was the first day I can say that I worked on transitions. The first time ever was about 2 weeks ago. I found concentrating on being smooth helped more than anything. I have been dry firing some and I think it has really hurt me as far as transitions go. I never really knew what they were being new to the game. About 3 weeks ago after watching Burkett's video the light bulb went off. I tried it and found it was quite difficult to make myself do it correctly. All I wanted to do is double tap. I think this is caused by double tapping in dry fire practice. Since I didn't know what transitions were so I was just practicing the dreaded double tap. Now I have the muscle memory for the double tap. To rememdy the situation I took about 400 rounds to the range and just worked on transitions. I think I'll continue with the live fire practice instead of dry fire until I get a good feeling of what I want. I'll still draw and reload during dry fire practice but I think I should stay away from mutiple targets for right now. Anyone have a take on this?? Flyin40
  14. Well I tried the 15lb mainspring today and no light hits with 400rds. So far so good. Flyin40
  15. Well I shot the gun today and I had a double and every other one the hammer fell. Luckly I only loaded a few rounds in the gun. I think I had 3 in and 2 went off at once. This spring needs some work and I'm not sure how to do it. I'll have to do some more researching to figure it out. I believe I read that it was the middle spring that would cause the double. Which way should it be bent and whats the best way to tell if theres enough tension. BTW I put my other sear spring in soon after trying the tri-glide. I did install the 15lb mainspring and didn't have any light hits in 400rds. I'm at a 2 3/4 pound trigger pull right now. I think I need to do alot of searching on the site for trigger work. Thks Flyin40
  16. I'm new to tinkering the the mainspring and sear spring. I have searched quite a bit through topics to get some info on mainsprings. I'm curious what majority of people are using. Please list any problems with light hits and the poundage of spring you were using and even the primer you were using if you like. Thks Flyin40
  17. I adjusted the tab so I had no take up in the trigger. After I couple of days messing with it I found I like a little take up in the trigger and bent the tab back some. I really like the feel of the trigger now. Flyin40
  18. Well I received the tri-glide and installed it. I'm getting a little under a 2 1/2 trigger pull. I did have to mess with the left spring some but left the middle leaf alone. I do have one question. The right leaf is basically flat and once everything is back together theres no spring pressure on the grip safety. The hammer will drop without touching the grip safety. Which I have been considering pinning the safety anyways. I was wondering if the spring and grip safety should be like that?? Flyin40
  19. What lead bullets do everyone use??? I'm looking for some decent cheap lead bullets to practice with. Shooting jacketed is getting expensive. Who makes them and how much??? Flyin40
  20. Anyone use these bullets. I just bought 2000 to try out. So far so good except for the usual dirty, smokey lead. I ordered direct from them. Flyin40
  21. I don't use it but its good to know someone caught it. Makes me want to check Hodgons website more often. Flyin40
  22. You have to use 2 wrenches, one on each side to get it out. If you have already tried that then you can take a larger head and get it to fit. Any type of head that will grab it will work if its stripped. If none of those work you can drill it out but you will have to order new screws and bushing. Flyin40
  23. WoW, that was really simple to do, thks Benny Flyin40
  24. I shoot an STI 2011 and have the SV Interlockng trigger that takes the inserts. I'm thinking of going with the tri-glide sear spring. Thks Flyin40
  25. How much tinkering did everyone have to do with this sear spring. Is the middle leaf already set or does it have to be adjusted??? I know how to do the left leaf but never messed with the middle and not sure I want to buy the Tri-Glide if I have too. Flyin40
