Just got some trigger work done.(nothing crazy) Cylinder and slide tactical kit. 1 out of 100 or so rounds the gun goes to half cock. I need to get this remedied asap, as I have a couple major matches coming up. The hammer falls at about 3.5 right now, so its not really light at all. Not sure what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Commander length 1911's do not have a full stroke cycle like a 5" gun. In my opinion, it makes them a little less reliable.

I just contacted MBX, and the mags will be ready to rock march/april. They also say the mags will run with no tuning needed. I will be going this route.

Hey all, I just spoke with bar-sto and they are replacing and fitting my barrel free of charge. I just have to cover shipping both ways on the gun. Excellent customer service the whole time, very professional. As for the barrel failure, cause has yet to be determined. I plan on speaking to their gunsmith before the end of this.

If you are using the Mec-gar mags or para mags you will have to use the Para dawson basepads.

It didn't look like the grams guts were available on their site. Where are you sourcing these?

So what is the general thought on the arrendondo basepads? I was thinking of using the springs, followers, and basepads from arrendondo. Good move or should I use arrendondo guts and the Dawson basepads? I'm already sold on the mec-gar mags for the tubes.

Thanks for the input fellas. I contacted barsto today and they requested the barrel be sent back to them. They were very professional, and said they would warranty the barrel. I will let you know how it pans out.

The gun is a TRP operator I had outfitted and legalized for SS. No abnormal wear on the frame, so I don't think any contact was made. I'll be contacting bar-sto in the AM

So I sheared my barrel lugs off today at the range. No hot ammo or anything like that involved. Anyone have any insight on how this happened? I just had a new barrel fit a little less than a year ago. 3-4k through it.

What are you running for spring weights and why? I'm trying to dial in 3 different 1911's chambered in .45acp. What type of problems will encounter with light recoil spring weights?

Has anyone handled a Tisas 9mm? They are about 400 bucks. I'm curious how these are put together and how the parts are fitted to the frame.

I own this mag pouch, and while it is legal I would not buy it. It needs a larger attachment point, it's very loose and moves a lot.

I've taken quite a few defensive weapons classes with a variety of instructors, and am open to new skill sets. A little bit about myself.... I teach people to drive tractor/trailers doubles/triples for a living. I have a rockcrawler that my girlfriend and myself enjoy taking all over the U.S. to run any trails that are challenging.
