  1. What I really don´t get, there goes SigSauer to build up a strikerfired pistol and they miss to lower the barrel to the hand, really?

I mean, what is the effort of this strikerfired version if the grip itself and the slide too are built as high as the hammer version?

    I totally don´t understand that.

  2. Hmmm, getting a little SIG fever so...

I´ve looked on the Ipsick PD list.

There stands a "P320 Nitron" which tells me nothing.

Does anybody know, if the P320 is Ipsick PD-legal?

  3. I´ve used Dillon case lube for a long while, because the spray method is so easy.

Yesterday I had some issues with sizing some .30-06 cases in a single press.

I had to use a lot of power and was worried that a case might stuck.

So I looked for some "extra lubrication" and found some old (not used for years) RCBS case lube, the white bottle ones.

Put a drop on my finger and smeared it a bit over a case.

    Man, what a difference!

The cases ran in smoothly, with almost no resistance, I couldn´t believe it!

Even with only lubing every 8th case or so, it ran much more easy than with the Dillon spray.

    Why is this so?

What am I doing wrong with the Dillon lube, isn´t it gtg for rifle brass, am I using not enough?

Or is the RCBS lube so much better?

I like to spray and tumble my brass in a bucket, but this result makes me wonder, if I should change my lubing.

  4. I highly agree with everything drewbeck has said.

    Temperature influences velocity different.

Some powders are almost temperature neutral.

Others get faster when it is hot or cold, and vice versa.

With the pistol powder I love most, the Lovex D032 (similar to Acc. No. 2), I loose velocity in summer.

So I do some testing before I go to the matches in summer under hot weather conditions.

That being said, I prefer heavier bullets and don´t want to overload such a fast powder.

Seating your bullet further out (growing your OAL) will minimize pressure and you can put some more powder in.

So you should check out, if longer OALs will fit your chamber.

But we are talking about 0,1 or 0,2gr. more, what might be possible this way.

And just for the books, a longer barrel would help too.

    (Yes, I know...)

    P.S.:

If you are willing to handle different loads for summer and winter, be always sure to use the right one in the right conditions.

  5. Yeah, that´s my experience too with the Shadow.

Never fired a Tanfo, but I will if I can lay my hands on one.

Over here in Germany, there´s a huge hype because of the Sig Sauer P226 LDC.

The owner praise it like the golden calf, me, looking forward to shoot one.

I love my Shadow for everything else, but it´s accuracy.

  6. Hand on your heart:

How would you see the accuracy of a factory Shadow against an Accu Shadow?

Well, we are not allowed to use Accu Shadows in IPSC Production, but the only thing with which I´m not satisfied with my SP-01 Shadow is the accuracy.

    Can´t go under 2,5" roundabout at 25m (26yds.), shooting from a sandbag.

  7. To be able to compare, I would suggest talking about groups at 25yds,/meters.

I do ten-shot-groups at 25m to test accuracy.

The best group I could ever make out of the Shadow, shooting in sitting position with my hands on a sand bag, was 2,2".

I had groups which where above 10" also.

Now I´m wondering what you guys can make with your Shadows?

I have to admit, that I bought mine brand new.

And brand new out-of-the-box there was lot of play between the slide and the barrel.

It sits loose at the bushing in all directions and sideways at the chamber, when in battery.

So I think that barrel and sights are not in the same alignement when shooting.

That´s another point, which I´m interested in, if this is the same with your pistols!?

    Infos would be nice.

    P.S.:

The fitting of my barrel in the slide, looks like the one of the older barrel in this video.

When I saw how close his new barrel fitted in I thought "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" :surprise:

  8. Ok, thank you!

Unfortunately the FAQ at this side don´t work.

    But as I understand now:

    There are these five stages,

which has to be done with five runs,

and all do have five targets.

In 4 of them you are standing in a box,

in Outer Limits you have two boxes and must change positions.

It is about hitting all targets as fast as possible and you always have to end on the stop plate.

The thingy on it, is how you do run the plates (in which order).

Is that correct so far, or did i get something wrong?

  9. Hello everybody,

as a big surprise, Steel Challenge came at the end of last year to Germany.

Not much did realize that (including me), so the first "German Steel Challenge" in 2014 was a very small match.

Now everybody knows and the 2015 SC is almost full.

Our IPSC shooting team thought "for the heck of it" and we subscribed.

But now we have no idea how it will be.

Yeah, of course, it´s about shooting steel, but how?

Are there always the same stages, or is it, like in IPSC, that you don´t know before what the match will bring to you?

So finally, we are wondering how or what we should train.

Would you help us with this please?

  10. Yeah, I know what you mean.

Sometimes, especially at longer shots or when there is a smaller target, it seems to be a problem to get a sharp front post.

That´s when the fiber optic is a little bit irritating.

Just to know, how did you black out the fiber optic (durable)?

  11. Hey guys,

I´m searching a wider front sight post for my CZ SP-01 Shadow.

I´m having issues to hit smaller targets or others who are further away.

The height is always good, but I´m spraying sideways (did competitions in precision pistol shooting for over 10years).

I´m assured, that I won´t have those probs with a wider front post.

Did some comparisions because of that the last two weeks and can tell, that the front sight post of a Glock is almost the double (f.e.).

And not only, that the front post of the Shadow is pretty small, the light gap between the front post and the rear sight is really pretty big (in my opinion).

Can anybody tell me, where I can get a wider front sight post?

Or does anybody know a method to expand the front sight post a little bit (durable)?

    :)

  12. Oh, ok, didn´t know that used fired brass falls under ITAR.

Humm, worked not only once, so....

    Are you sure?

If so, I don´t understand ITAR somehow.

I can buy new US-American brass for a looooooooooot of money over here legally.

As I can buy US-made rifles and pistols and ammos and all the other stuff in any gun shop over here.

What is the sence of banning used brass then?
