  1. The NEW Gray Guns Hybrid Competition Kit comes with they new GG’s adjustable over travel trigger.  It is supposed to start shipping next week.  I spoke to Keres, and they were very honest and forthcoming about their trigger and the GG Competition Trigger Kit.  They said due to the geometry of the trigger bar attachment on the Keres trigger it would raise the trigger pull weight of the X-FIVE Legion as the Legion has a different geometry to the P320 X-FIVE non-Legion.

I thanked them for their honesty, I thought it was actually amazing.

They did say they would eventually make a X-FIVE Legion specific trigger, but it was not in the pipeline anytime soon.

    I presume you're shooting a 9mm ?

Yes, it will be a 9mm and set up for CO

My Legion with the LCI had 2 malfunctions and they were with my shorter 1.125.  I had made loads of 0.005 increments from 1.125 to 1.145.  I had no other malfunctions.  This was the first 100 rounds through the gun so this may have been a coincidence.  Like you, I sent mine back for a new barrel after the first 100 rounds.

I will be sending mine back immediately for a non-LCI barrel.

Looks like I will need to do some load testing to his 131PF at a longer OAL

  3. I’m coming from a CZ platform where short OAL was required.

Is there a ballpark/consensus OAL for reloads on the P320 X-Five barrels?

I still have 1000’s of rounds of 1.09 OAL left over from my CZ’s.  I am sure they will be fine in the X-Five for practice, or I can use them for fun in my Scorpion, but really looking for a starting point.

Sadly my Legion is back ordered so I can’t use the chamber to nail it down.

    Any guidance is appreciated

    Z,

When in FL call me.  We need to go do some shooting.

Also, why are you replacing the barrel?  Is it because of the chamber indicator slot?

I was thinking on the Romeo 3, but still not sure.

The LCI creates issues on the RDS’s glass due to escaping gas.

Romeo 3 currently needs a plate to mount on the Legion rather than a direct mount of the Romeo Pro 1

    zhunter,

I've been contemplating the idea of shooting the X5L next year.

Let me know which setup you have in mind.  Which red dot?

    Hey Big Guy

Yes I am gonna shoot the P320 X-Five Legion in CO next year.

I bought it before my current work trip and will send it to Sig to have the barrel replaced when I get home.  I already have the Sig Romeo Pro 1 dot.  I have done a lot of reading, and will be going with the GG Competition kit and possibly the Tactical Pontoon sear springs.  I have 3 17-round mags (comes with the Legion) and will use the Henning +6 magazine base pads and will make a plan for my other 3 21-round mags, possibly the TTI +2’s if they work with the factory 21 rounders.  I will work out having 6 reloadable 22-23 round magazines.

Looking forward to getting back into shooting next year when my schedule allows, but work is changing and I will be in Florida a lot the next few years.  I will be making changes to my whole setup with an eye towards economy of motion being I have not shot for the past 18 months I feel now is the time to make changes like mag pouch configuration etc...

    So there ya go

The trigger on my brand new P320 X5 Legion was so good right out of the box I doubted the GGI trigger system could improve on it.  But, I bought one anyway with the curved trigger. It was easy to install while watching a Youtube video for guidance.  The GGI trigger system is a definite improvement.  It takes a very good trigger and makes it great. After install my trigger pull was consistently just under 3# with a shorter pretravel and reset.  I would assume the trigger will continue to get better after I get a couple thousand rounds through the Legion.

I've been using the CZ Shadow 2 in CO for the last few years, but I like this set up so much I've made the move.

I was a Shadow guy too, and hope my results and feel mirror yours.

I did just shoot Keres a few questions about integrating their with Gray Guns Competition kit and possibly a Apex trigger bar.

It seems the polishing and tuning of the Gray Guns parts are key (Seems Burke polishes parts as well as some welding), but I am looking to possibly shorten the trigger travel of the GG kit while maintaining their 3#ish trigger pull

  7. Great info and numbers, so thanks.

Another question, how much does the trigger bar have to do with trigger travel in the P320 FCU operation?  Or is it more of a function of the trigger/trigger shoe rather than the trigger bar?

It seems that there must be some sweet spot to combine parts of different “systems” (eg. grays polished sear and lighter springs with a Keres trigger and an Apex trigger bar) to achieve the best possible setup apart from going the Burke route.

    Thoughts?

I like the super short movement of the Apex too. It´s still a bit heavy. Have to test the GG, maybe combine it´s sear and springs with the apex bar and trigger.

I want to hear about this combo....  I am a trigger rider and I struggle with long resets that cause the occasional “trigger freeze” on hoser stages.  Looking forward to picking up my Legion when I get back from this three week work trip.... Of course the first thing I am gonna do is send it in to get the non-LCI barrel :)

I have both actually. My regular X5 has the full Burke treatment and the Legion has the GG kit. As far is which is “nicer”, I think the Burke trigger is a tiny better. Obviously this is subjective. Yes it has less take up and the break has a snap to it. The GG kit to me feels just like a lighter stock Legion trigger with much less over travel.

    That’s good info

Too much over-travel and a long reset lead to my trigger freezes

Haven’t looked in a while but the only spring you can buy is the one from Gray Guns but it comes in their comp kit. The other alternative I can think of is physically squeezing the coil on the spring or manipulating the legs in to less than 90 degrees when they are not under tension.

I am torn between the $129 GG kit and the $295 Sig Armorer full trigger job (Which of course would entail shipping costs). In the big scheme of things, $170 bucks is not the end of the world if it is in fact a better trigger.  The videos I have seen show a MUCH shorter pre and over travel for the Burke (Sig Armorer) trigger, but possibly a bit heavier trigger pull.  I ride the trigger and am prone to trigger freeze on hoser stages, so shorter travel is a big thing for me.

    Decisions Decisions 🤨

  11. I come from the CZ platform, so take this question for what it’s worth, but does anyone produce a reduced power trigger bar spring for the P320?  Would a reduced power spring aid in lowering trigger pull weight.

Sorry if this is a dumb newb question
