  1. Couple of small steps can make a significant different in fit for silicon shooting plugs. 1)you should have a deep impression. Tell the lab it will be used for shooting and you will have no cracks in the seal as the seal is deeper than the jaw movement. 2) use only high strength silicone in final product. Do not use instamold type silicone. If they make it right there chances are it is not going to fit well over time. 3) if you still have issues try having your impression taken with your jaw open. This will take an impression that will be much tighter as it is the largest volume you canal can be. All major labs offer a fit guarantee. Usually 3 months. If it is not working or hurts have it remade for fee. My favorite manufacture is Starkey. They have built millions of molds and know how to do it right.
  2. Open mouth can help. I would redo molds with silicone material. Sounds to me like you have too much gain. Did you have any way to adjust the volume? Who did the first mold?
  3. My gen 3 22 would not reset with zev trigger sping as well. I just went with the factory sping. Let's us know if new zev springs work
  4. I can't wait to shoot it!
  5. Good shooting. I even saw myself ROing you on stage 13.
  6. Field and Stream had a article sometime in 2012 or 2011. Remember that the NRR ratings are not the definitive number as to how much sound they block. Also all electronics are turned off for the testing. There was an alternative rating system proposed in the late 90's that gave the consumer a better range of protection. I believe it was called NRRh. I will try and find a link and repost. I would recommend hearing protection that is comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I see to many guy flip up there muff only to get blasted by the next shooter.
  7. Not a big muff fan. Too hot where I like to shoot. A properly taken mold and good manufacture should give excellent in ear results that will last a very long time. I believe the high strength silicone offered by hearing aid manufactures is far superior to instant mold material. Most manufacturers can add the "surfire" like element to their mold for better hearing. I have tried most type and prefer the in ear electronic type. If you are an active shooter you will never regret the purchase.
  8. I have had my ShotMaxx for several month and believe this is the best training timer out. Everything is on your wrist. What could be better.
