  1. If the primer is fully seated(which it should be) then no need to worry about the punch being in.

    Got an HK45

If I completely cover the BE with the front dot, I am still 3 inches low. I prefer sights where the POI is not completely covered up by the front so I need to find something with a shorter front than I have if the rear is the same height as the stock sight.

    Got an HK45

I love everything about mine except the stock sights. I am trying to decide on what to replace them with. Right now, I am leaning toward the Dawson FO set I just wish it was adjustable rather than fixed. I have the 6.1mm front sight on mine and it shoots consistently low by about 3".
  4. Thanks. I hadn't considered this as an option. Very interesting. Is it difficult to adjust for different powder charges, ie from .223 to .308? It's really easy to adjust since you just slide an adapter onto the end of the main tube. There are different adapters for different calibers and charge weights. It does go a bit slower than using the Dillon measure but it throws as accurately with stick powders as the Dillon does with ball powders. I really like H4350 for my .30-06 and the Dillon measure just doesn't work well with it. I have picked up some Superformance powder and it meters better through the Dillon measure and seems ok. About 100fps slower with a slightly larger charge than the 4350. I also recently got some CFE223 tot ry but have not had a chance to use it. It's supposed to meter well through the Dillon as well.
  5. Have you checked to see if the ejector wire is keeping it from sliding all the way forward? Mine tends to work itself up a bit and causes the issue you are having until I push it back down.
  6. An expensive but very reliable alternative for stick powders: http://www.quick-measure.com/progadapter.htm I use one on my 650 with H4350 which has to be the worst powder I have ever used for metering and I get very accurate throws from this. It sure makes loading rifle rounds a lot faster than hand weighing each load! Ron
  7. Glad to hear you weren't hurt at all! I can only imagine how scary that must be when it happens. I have some of the same primers and fortunately have not had one go in upside down apparently. You are correct about the CCI's being harder than the Federal's. I have one gun that does not like the CCI's but is 100% reliable with the Federals so I always keep some around. I will be extra vigilant whenever I use them from now on. I'm sure Dillon will take good care of you when you call them. They seem to be shipping replacement parts very quick these days so you shouldn't be down for too long. Ron
  8. Following Sarge's advice, I got the funnel on the drill and using a very fine file I was able to remove a tiny amount of material from it. I then used some super fine polishing tapes from my knife sharpening kit to polish it. Just ran 200 rounds through the press and it's smooth as my other pistol calibers now. What a difference it makes when you don't have to fight to get the cases unstuck on each up stroke. I was using brand new starline brass and the cases bell perfectly now. Thanks Sarge!
  9. I pulled the 9mm powder funnel out tonight and am going to try sanding the expander and see what happens. Nothing to lose at this point because it's pretty much unusable the way it is. I switched over to .45 today and flew through 500rds in less than half the time the 300 of 9mm took and it was smooth as silk. Sure makes the process a lot more enjoyable!
  10. I am going to have to try it then since loading 9mm has become a pain with how bad it sticks to the funnel. My other Dillon funnels don't stick at all so not sure why this one is so bad. I actually have a blister on my hand from loading 300rds of 9mm yesterday. I have to really pull hard to get the cases unstuck and I am barely putting enough bell in them to get the bullets to sit on top. With the .45 and 10mm, I can't even feel the cases being belled.
  11. Thanks. Found it under the 1050 powder measure parts rather than powder funnels. Does this work with all pistol calibers then?
  12. I know this is a really old thread but does anyone know if they still make the part mentioned above? I can't find it on the Dillon site and the 650 9mm powder funnel is really annoying and slowing the process. My 10mm and .45 powder funnels work great but the 9mm sticks like crazy. I have polished it but it's still really bad after the first few rounds. Thanks, Ron
  13. 55 Sierra HPBT Alliant AR-Comp 25.6 3359 There are other bullet weights listed as well but this one is for 55gr.
  14. If you list what you want to load, caliber, bullet weight, etc, it will help give you the information you are after. I have found lots of Power Pistol data on the web that is not on the Alliant site. Did you get a chance to chrono your loads from earlier this week?
  15. If they would have sent me a new spring instead of having me switch it out with one from the spare parts bag, the problem would have been solved long ago. Since there is no way to identify the individual springs in the spare parts kit but to match them up with the one you are replacing, I reinstalled an incorrect spring. At least when you get the individual parts from Dillon, they are labeled. They have sent me a new indexing spring and sure enough, it says so right on the bag. Not sure what the smaller spring that was in my priming system goes to but I suppose I will find out one of these days.
  16. First time loading with the right spring in the priming system. Sure makes things a lot faster and I no longer have to think about manually advancing the primer index arm each time which is really nice. 200rds of 9mm without a single primer missed!
  17. It's all I use for 9mm, 10mm, and .45 8.6gr under a 230gr JHP is my favorite load for the .45acp Power Pistol meters really well in the Dillon measure. It's also very economical(if there is such a thing these days) compared to other powders for the same velocities.
  18. Mystery solved! I ordered a second priming system from Dillon so I could see if it functioned correctly and if there were any differences. Nice thing is I ordered on Monday and got it today! The first thing I noticed was how much stiffer the return spring for the indexing arm was so I took both of them out and they were different. My press came with the wrong spring on the indexing arm from the factory. When they told me to swap it out with the spare in my parts kit, I used the one that was the exact same length. It turns out the right spring is a bit longer but since there are no lengths mentioned in the parts diagram, I just went by what came with the press. Found the correct spring in the bag and I now have two fully functional priming systems. I guess it will make switching back and forth between small and large a lot faster! Ron
  19. I have flipped the primer disk as well as checked it for flatness and rough spots. I am going to try and polish the indexing arm next and see what happens. As soon as I have time I will post the results. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Ron
  20. Thanks for the replies. I have replaced the return spring, indexing arm, wavy washer, cleaned, lubed, adjusted the bolt tightness and everything else I can think of. I thought at first it was the large primer disk since it would only stick about 2/3 of the way around each time. I was hoping when I switched it over to the small primer disk the problem would go away but now it sticks every single time. One thing I just read while searching forums was to try polishing the bottom of the indexing arm that rides on the primer plate. I guess I will try it and see what happens. If that doesn't do it, I am going to try and convince Dillon to send me a new priming system and see if that solves it. I don't think there is much else I can do. Ron
  21. Power Pistol and Superformance meter really well through the stock measure. H4350 is the worst with Varget running a close second. So bad in fact that I purchased a different type of measure for using stick powders on the 650. I recently got some CFE223 but have not had a chance to try it yet. Hopefully it will be similar to Superformance in the way it meters. Ron
  22. I got my 650 back in November and the primer indexing arm has always hung up to where I have to use my finger to push it forward so it drops into the hole in the primer plate. I have read and tried every tip on fixing the problem, talked to Dillon who sent me another wavy washer to try, cleaned, lubed, replaced the indexing arm and spring, and even tried switching to small primers to see if it was the large primer plate that was perhaps warped. Still having the same problem and nothing left to replace or try. Does anyone here have any ideas on what might be causing this issue or suggestions on something new to try? Thanks, Ron
  23. I am about 25 miles North of Portland. Crazy busy with my businesses right now but we can probably work something out. What times are you available? Ron
