  1. The 250 rounds I put through the Grand Power. Up the ladder... Geco 115gr FMJ, Sellier&Bellot 115gr FMJ Police, Samson IMI 115gr FMJ NATO, ZQ123gr NATO and Speer Lawman 147gr TMJ. Pretty standard run of the mill offerings all FMJ's. No hollow points this time out to see how they run. First time out with the Grand Power and it's a mixed bag! I Chronographed some ammos I have ran in the other pistols today. I had some stoppages and got some pictures of them: Most were with the higher impulse ammo, although I ran into a total stoppage shooting the S&B 115's. I had a FTE and after clearing it, I couldn't get the slide to go back into battery at all! It was about 1/4" from going in and no luck which prompted a pull-down, cleaning and re-oil. I was able to get it going again after do this. I'm hoping the aren't that sensitive to powder, crud...
  2. I posted some pictures and measurements I took tonight. https://www.facebook.com/EAA-Firearms-Not-affiliated-with-EAA-Corp-206257602745613/
  3. I pick up the Grand Power K100 9mm today...finally! Due to rain I won't be able to do any shooting until Christmas Eve or Day. I plan on breaking it down tonight for a cleaning and to get some pictures of case support with a round inserted vs a Witness and Springfield barrel.
  4. Interestingly S&W M&P's don't seem to be either: Plus-P” (+P) ammunition generates pressures in excess of the pressures associated with standard ammunition. Such pressures may affect the wear characteristics or exceed the margin of safety. Use of “Plus-P” ammunition may result in the need for more frequent service. “Plus-P-Plus” (+P+) ammunition must not be used in Smith & Wesson firearms. This marking on the ammunition designates that it exceeds established industry standards, but the designation does not represent defined pressure limits and therefore such ammunition may vary significantly as to the pressures generated and could be DANGEROUS.
  5. That's true, but if they are listed SAAMI (Doubletap is), their ammo as I know it is within the guidelines.
  6. I don't know what Underwood is. The BPLE should according to this be no more than 42k PSI given Federal's cap on pressure. That's where I would like to go and stop. If I could find Underwood data that would help determine where it sits.
  7. 9x19 SAAMI - 35,000 PSIA CIP - 34,083 PSIA NATO - 36,550 PSIA SAAMI +P - 38,500 PSIA There is no industry standard for +P+, though Winchester and Federal do state that they use 42,000 PSIA as a limit. CIP and NATO PROOF loads hover around 46,000 PSIA. The Glock 17 and 19, along with a bunch of other 9x19 pistols, will safely shoot +P+ loads, but with increased wear.
  8. In that first link you will find information about what Federal caps their +P+ rounds at. I think it was 42k PSI.
  9. EAA Witness is a no, but we know competition shooters for sure use it! http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-326525.html
  10. Springfield XD/XDM lines are good to go with great details: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/16303-p-and-p-ammo-for-springfield-xdm-9mm/
  11. Ruger SR9 is a yup: http://rugerforum.net/ruger-pistols/24435-p-ammo-safe-use-sr9.html
  12. In here covers Glocks with pressure information by level. They are good to go +P+ : https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=5&f=13&t=83974
  13. I see in manuals about running factory ammo and not reloads, but can't comment fully about +P without some research. I will try to find online manuals for those and post the findings tonight.
  14. My thoughts on this. If in the year 2015 when we see all the other modern day pistols being fine with running +P and +P+ ammo, but the GP is a total no-go for running it... not good. That's what many self defense offerings are today. My 9mm purchase was made as a feeling out process to step into the 10mm not released yet. Heaven help us running the 10mm ammos out there with no + anything designations! I'm really regretting my purchase already and haven't even picked it up yet. I feel compelled to share this where applicable to prevent other shooters from going down a road that might not should have been traveled. This might put a real damper on sales to those wanting to run these ammos.
  15. No, I got ya. Here according to Wiki for +P+: SAAMI does not have a +P+ pressure standard, but this indicates a pressure higher than the +P loading. In both cases this is below the pressure of proof test cartridge, which all firearms are required to withstand Canuck also states in that link I posted: "Factory ammo, even the +p+ factory ammo should be fine." That tells me and as it should, that shooting +P and +P+ ammo should be fine regardless of how it's defined.
  16. It looks like I wouldn't be the first trying BPLE and it for sure is a common ammo type for carry (Police one shot stopper for years). http://www.grandpower.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=84 I want the heavier spring for my try and a Steel guide rod if I can buy one.
  17. Do they come with the pistol? I run a DPM recoil reducing rod and spring in my XD 9mm, 12lb Wolff in my EAA Limited 9mm, 20lb Wolff in my EAA Hunter 10mm and 22lb Wolff in my other EAA 4.75" pistols.
  18. Ouch. It will be interesting to see how BPLE +P+ runs in them and people for sure will. Any idea what the lb ratings are of those springs?
  19. Oh no! I'm sure anyone going from the Glock or other platform would want to shoot the same ammo. What makes it not on the same playing field?
  20. I'm a couple weeks away and wanted to see if I'm venturing into unchartered territory. Has anyone with a Grand Power tried the upper end ammos or handloaded to it?
  21. Yea. Henning should just run off a big batch. I think I would pick up a few spares.
