    compatibilities for gen3 and gen4 parts

    I still have a gen 3, but considering going to Gen 4. As I've looked online for Gen4 reduced power springs, I haven't found much. In my Gen3 I use a Lone Wolf rod and 13# spring to match my reduced loads. Thanks for your response as I was wondering about using this rod/spring combo and getting an adapter if I pick up a Gen4. Do you need a washer on your guide rod with blue GW spring?

    The guide rod adapter comes with a small washer as you know. Then with the GW spring they recommend you by a spring retaining washer to hold the spring, also. I bought it just in case. When i put it all on it just seemed like too much on the rod. I use only the guide rod and adapter and spring. No washer of any sort and it works fine.

    Thanks for the tip. I think I'll try that 12# spring, too, and see how it runs compared to the 13# ISMI.

    SIRT pistol

    2mm is the difference and sirt trigger is nothing like a Glock.

    I find that to be the biggest limiting factor when it comes to the "realism factor". On the other hand, if I can learn to hold it steady with that heavy a trigger, then my actual pistol is like a feather in comparison.
    I adjusted mine to the lightest level. Sirt is still better than nothing. Lots of productive drills highlighted in stoeger book.

    With the SIRT you can work all aspects except recoil management. It's especially good for mag change practice.

    I also like the fact that you can get good controlled-pair practice.

    Happy Thanksgiving all.

    My name is Jason and I'm in my 3rd season shooting USPSA. What a great sport! Had I known how fun this would be I would have quit golf for action shooting long ago! With less than three years in the game I consider myself a relative newcomer. I see this forum as a great place to learn.

    Glock 34 Gen 4 guide rod

    I have a gen 3 G34 with Lone Wolf SS rod and 13# ISMI spring shooting reduced loads. If I was to pick up a Gen 4, can I use this spring/ rod combo with an adapter and expect it to run well? And would that be USPSA production legal?
