  1. Hi,

just a thought, based on another forum I participate in.  Your screen name appears in red because you’re an Admin/Moderator I presume. Mine is black, because I’m just a regular participating member. How about offering the option to have someone’s screen name appear in green or some other color to indicate they are a financial supporter of the forums?  Those members could pay an annual fee, and would get no other benefits other than a different color screen name??

That keeps the forum as Brian intended, a free information exchange, available to all, while at the same time, recognizing the few members who think this site is worth $20-$30 a year?

  2. It may be time to think about an annual membership fee of anywhere between $10-$25.  I don’t thank many people will have a problem with that. Or make it optional. Those that pay, get a moniker of some sort saying they are a member.

    Just a thought.

  3. Just wondering if anyone is running one of these triggers with a “-“ connector and Johnny Glock Vex shoe?  If so, how do you like it?

im intrigued by this combination, haven’t seen any reports of anyone swapping the connector for the minus version.

I really like the idea of using a stock striker spring for reliability Across the varied primers I’ve had to buy, without it adding to the trigger pull.

What trigger would you recommend for the 43X?  The stock one is horrendous, not sure if this is how they all are but mine sucks!

I’ve got a G48 with an Apex trigger that I like a lot. For this one I put in a Ghost connector and left the stock trigger in it. I will re-evaluate the trigger after a few hundred rounds. If I do replace it, I will go with Apex.

I don’t care about multiple divisions. I want a race style holster that will work for my gun, which not many people make specific holsters for. So something like a Guga Ribas that can be adjusted to fit my gun. Thanks.

Lol, ok, so you don’t really want a “universal holster”, you just want one for the Walther PDP.  Why do you want a race style holster?  That takes you out of the Carry Optics and Production Divisions where that gun belongs.

I’d be looking at BladeTech, CompTac, Red Hill Tactical, etc. something in a nice solid kydex holster. But that’s probably because I’ve never felt very comfortable with the fancy open gun rigs.

I’m getting myself all kitted out to shoot. What is the best “Universal Holster” to go with these days? I am shooting a Walther PDP and will likely end up shooting limited optic’s because I like magwells and my vision isn’t what it used to be. I have a Black Scorpion holster to hold me over, but definitely want something else to run with.

what do you mean by “universal”?

Are you looking for a holster that is legal across multiple Divisions?  Or one that will work for multiple different guns?

The CompTac Q Series and Safariland make holsters that fit multiple guns, but, IMO, you will be much better off getting a holster that was made specifically for your gun.

I built new walls last year and decided to go with 6’ walls instead of 8’. So much easier to carry, set up, store, etc. I ripped 2X4’s instead of using 2X2’s that are typically crooked junk. I sprung for more expensive mesh with 1/2” openings. Takes major abuse without tearing and looks ten times better than cheap snow fence.

I use metal wall stands to put the legs in. I also use metal target stands that take up a fraction of the space of wooden ones.

How about a few pics next time you have to go set them up?

  8. So I got impatient waiting for feedback and ordered the Suarez, and Katana V3 to test out along with the Shield I already own. I decided against the Glockstore model because it looks to be identical to the Shield model with the same method of attachment, which I think is flawed. But, we’ll see.

The bros is a lot bigger and rubs at the top right corner of your picture. I modified a BladeTech signature, but can give a classic a try. Thanks.

So now I have to ask the question, why the heck do you need a BROS?  It seems like a worthless piece of equipment to protect a red dot that doesn’t need it. The SRO is a Competition optic. If it breaks, Trijicon will fix it. There’s no reason to try and protect it with a BROS. It just doesn’t make sense.

Kore does have a great selection, but found them to be almost double the cost of the Bianchi/Safariland. Did I miss something?

Are you sure you weren’t looking at their 2-belt options?

They are selling 2 Beltre for $112, or just 1 for $60.

  11. Looking for a solid mounting magwell for my EDC G43X.  I'm not so much interested in how great the funnel is to guide mags into the gun.  I'm more interested in one that is relatively small, and is solidly attached such that when gripping the gun, the front of the magwell doesn't move downward too far.  It seems they all move a little.  I have a Shield Arms Carry Magwell on my G48, and it does a good job, but I'm wondering if there is another model out there that may be better.  If anyone has any experience with the following, please chime in about it.  The first 2 seem to be the ones I'm leaning towards:

    Empire Katana V3 Magwell

    https://empirepbf.com/products/the-katana-v3-for-g43x-48

    Glockstore EDC Magwell

    https://www.glockstore.com/GS-Magwell-for-G43X-48

    Others:

    - Suarez Gunfighter Magwell

    - Shield Arms Carry magwell

    - Tyrant Designs magwell

    - SLR Rifleworks G48 magwell

    - Steel City Ninex19 Enhanced magwell

If you know of others out there that you like, let me know.

    Thanks,

    -Cuz

Just for reference, Kore has a better selection of options and is less expensive.

I just got a Kore belt last week based on a friends recommendation. Too soon to tell for sure, but I think it’s going to be a winner.

I caught the podcast this afternoon, and while in general I like the podcast and the question of the month, I thought the NROI group missed an opportunity with this topic. Right, wrong or indifferent, those of us that serve as ROs obviously have a lot of confusion with this, despite the answer that was written on the Blog. Perhaps NROI will revisit this in another podcast and can elaborate further on their reasoning. I did appreciate the group discussing how they discuss these QotM topics and answers with the RM and RMI staff, but despite that I'm going to say that 98% of us still aren't grasping the concept that they are trying to convey in this instance.

if 98% of us can’t grasp the concept, and many of us are shooters and ROs who have been doing this for a while, then maybe there is something wrong with the concept.
