Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Oh, it overlaps fine, but it is hard to get it tight enough to hold up my pants when I put the outer belt on. I feel like all the tension comes from the inner belt, since as soon as you put the outer belt on, you can't really get it tight, since it kinda grabs the inner belt velcro, and you cant slide it to get it any tighter. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
  2. I did get the ELS inner belt, but it is just overlapping velcro, with no clasp to cinch it down tight.
  3. Safariland ELS - because it seemed like thats what the top guys on 3GN were using when I started buying gear.
  4. I am currently using a safariland ELS outer belt with a standard inner belt. My problem is that the inner belt only secures by overlapping - there is no plastic clasp to adjust - then suck it in when clipping together, OR a cinch style clasp. I was looking for a new fuzzy-velcro-on-the-outside style belt that can either be adjusted or cinched down. Any ideas?
  5. I picked up a JM 930 a month back. First trip to the range and the lifter grabbed my thumb bad. I asked my local gun smith about welding the lifter, he said he had never heard of it before, but "sounds simple enough" ... I think I'll pass and go the crums route. I picked up the 24" but am starting to think the 22" would have been better since everything seems to revolve around loading 8 at a time, 4x carriers, and whatnot. It feels like a beast though since I am used to just shooting a 5.8# O/U most of the time.
  6. I wish I had seen this thread 2 months ago when I was doing the exact same thing. I too got confused on the pistol mags and ordered the wrong ones. I will call them next time and make sure on the phone that I am getting the right thing. I am curious from other users though, about the velcro inner belt - are you supposed to put a buckle on it or something? It has a hole in the end, and if it is supposed to be the belt that holds up your pants then i imagine you would want the ability to get it pretty tight. Post pics of yours when you get it all together.
  7. I recently purchased a G34 from a user on this forum and it came with a bladetech holster I believe. I was looking for something with active retention, and really liked how my previous pistol (SigPro SP2022) worked in the safariland ALS holster. This particular G34 has dawson precision front/rear sights installed, and I was wondering if that would cause any issues with a G34 ALS holster. Thanks
  8. Looks like Dawson is the way to go. How much does it cost to replace the fiber?
  9. I picked up a 930 JM Pro 24" last week and tried it out over the weekend. Ran flawless, no failures as fast as I could pull the trigger. I did have the lifter grab my thumb pretty good when trying to speed load. I figure I will try a few matches before deciding if it needs to go in. I also feel they should have opened up the loading port a bit more like the pictures above this post.
  10. Picked up a 24" 930 JM Pro at Academy last Wednesday in Houston. They said they just got it in the night before. If you call their corporate support# in the morning an hour before the stores open and give them the SKU they will search every store for you, then they put you on hold and call the store to confirm they have it. Just asked them to hold and drove over to pick it up!
  11. I have been gearing up to start 3-gun, and the pistol I have is a Sig SP2022 in 9mm. When I was reading some other forums it was suggested that a DA/SA pistol is not the greatest idea for competetion shooting since the first trigger pull is different from the rest. My question is: When using an active retention holster (Safariland ALS for me) would it be acceptable/safe to begin the stage with the pistol in SA mode? Would you need to decock the pistol each time it is reholstered, even if the stage were say pistol-shotgun-pistol? My gut feeling is the answers is no, it must always be decocked before holstering, but I was curious if it was allowed, or even safe to do. Thanks.
  12. Did you almost grind out the serial opening the port?
