I finally got around to making a few modifications. The most notable is a slight opening of the loading port. It's not much but is noticeably better than stock. I may open it more after I get more practice loading. I also shortened the stock .500", added the oversized bolt release, and smoothed out the mag tube.
Yeah that looks great!

He can only a have 10 rd mag, but im sure he would love to use 40 rd pmags.

Kind of a noob question but I shoot really high on close in clays. Any idea why? I'm a very new shotgun shooter. I have to hold very low.
you may need to adjust the stock to get the point of aim right.

Try this thread.
I have a JM and it runs great, but you have to keep up with it. I will be running the Stoeger at some matches this year after I get it ready.

How much was that if you dont mind me asking

Looks good. How did the bold release fit?

I've never done one, but practice is practice so I'm sure that it can't hurt.

You shouldn't have to wait to get the next shot off. If its working as it should, and it sounds like it is, maybe its just a different feel from what you normal shoot. How much lube are you using on the bolt carrier?
-
Is the only difference the extra little bit on the end of the tube?

The Federal bulk stuff runs great for me but how do you tell what the shot is made from? I read that some clubs check for steel shot and I can't find documentation on the packaging to say what the cheep stuff shoots.I shoot the Wally World stuff - either the Federal or Winchester bulk packs depending on what's in stock. Usually 7 1/2 or 8, 2 3/4", 3 dram. They all run great in my M2 and I've never had a problem. On the other hand, my friend shooting his 930 has trouble with the bulk stuff cycling the action. So I think it depends on the gun. Buy it - test it. The same is true for Royal Star low-recoil 2 3/4" slugs - run great and are accurate in my M2, but won't cycle his 930.
I think it has to do with hunting loads. Cheap stuff should use lead.

Looks like luck of the draw. Can't wait for my birthday present to get here, it's like the lottery!

I would time it with the optic. I don't think it will make much of a difference with the irons because you will be using them at closer ranges.

Cabelas normal carries them.

Good to hear! I'm getting ready to start my 2nd season, with a new stoeger m3000 on the way. Have fun!

Thanks, Jesse. I'll give it a try.Fi you can get the 12th shell in half way you can cut about 4-5 coils and get the rest. It maybe tight. Try cutting one coil at a time until it fits. Don't go below 12-14" of spring sticking out of the end of the tube.
Oh now that I can post pictures...
Here's the light port opening I did too it. I didn't get too aggressive with it.
that looks good! I may be willing to do that much.

Looks good! Maybe plasti dip the ends of the clips to make the pull smooth.

For belt size I read that it should be your pants size or the next size up if you want more overlap. I ordered my pants size and it has 3-4 inches of overlap.
-
I like it, might give it a shot on my next built. Wish they had a 15 inch model.
-
Sure is pretty!!

I believe so. Might want to wait on someone that knows more. I don't have my shotgun in my hands yet.
-
Oh I thought they had 5 from the factory.

The 870 will work just fine. I've seen plenty of pumps run just as fast or even faster than semis.
The versa max, 930, M3000, or 1301 are all good "step ups".
You could jump up to an M2 if you want its never a bad choice.
