  1. Anyone else have noticed charge variations dependent of the speed machine is operating at? I was loading some 9mm major with a friend. 6.8gr of Winchester Autocomp, which makes the IPSC open major PF. That charge was measured while running the machine at 1000 per hour. Then when everything was dialled in, we ran "production batch" at 1600-1900 per hour (plus some index slowdowns and bottom dwell). Now the charge was only 6.7gr. Quickly tested 2200/hour and that was only 6.5gr! (Yes, I did check that the powder measure adjustment screw was tight, hadn't moved at all)
  2. I would also recommend using a grease gun with a needle nozzle, something like: https://www.amazon.com/CARBYNE-Grease-Needle-Nozzle-Threads/dp/B01NCRWGBZ ...instead of the syringe recommended by Mark 7.
  3. I had a RL 1050. Based on my experience, the Evolution Pro is already light years ahead of Dillon. No, not two years from now -- but NOW. It is already there. Still a new product, might have some things that needs to be fixed etc, but it is already better than what was available earlier.
  4. 1/2) Parts are lubed/greased from the factory. You'll need some thin machine oil (gun oil is probably fine), Lucas Red'n'Tacky #2 grease and some MolyCoat grease. 3) At least my powder measure would get stuck at first, before it was fixed by Mark 7. So pay close attention to that. 4) Go slow first. Get at least the Powder Check and Swage Sense sensors.
  5. I am using a Redding Premium. Works perfectly and is a bit smoother than Lee+MrB funnel since the Redding is TiN-coated.
  6. I believe there are already multiple Evolution (Pro) owners so just ask...
  7. It seems that itselataaja550's latest design works well! I never got the spring-thingy to work 100%, but on quick tests it looks like the 3D printed case feeder ramp works well.
  8. I think I read somewhere that Mark 7 would be working on some kind of solution to the large casefeeder issue.
  9. Usually it is just the primer getting pulled back. Previously, before getting Evolution, I have also seen couple of times the decapping die going through a weak primer, just making a hole to it. I already have SwageSense installed and PowderSense ordered. After tonights experience with Geco-brass I'm seriously considering buying also the DecapSense. After all, it's just $200 addition to a €7000 machine...
  10. How well does that collator work for you? I'm a bit tired of my Dillon RF-100 jamming or dispensing upside-down primers all the time, considering buying the collator once it becomes available/in stock for the Evolution Pro...
  11. I used my highly accurate analytical scale again to measure some more 9 major powders. It seems that so far all have had spread of about 0.09 grains, which in my opinion is still very good accuracy!
  12. If the spent primer gets pulled back by the decap die, machine will stop by SwageSense. At that stage you need to jog the machine up, remove the bad case and check if there is already powder in the case under powder measure (if yes, empty that). And then continue. DecapSense would stop the machine at the upstroke, when you would only have to remove the bad case, no need to check case under powder measure. Today I also hit problem with the MA decapping die, spent primers from Geco brass got sucked back in. Lets see how that can be solved... Not giving my MA die up.
  13. I don't really know if it is even possible with the Mark 7 powder measure. Even if it is, I feel the powder measure works smoother when it does only the powder drop. And anyway, Mark 7 has more die stations than 650/1050 and a Lee expander die was included with the press so why not use that as recommended.
  14. I don't know if there are different models but at least on my Evo Pro, the primer alarm system is perfectly shaped to fit the RF100 tube. You just have to put the RF100 tube to the PrimerSense and push it from the top so the inner tube touches the Mark 7 primer tube.
  15. I wouldn't get rid of the Mighty Armory, it's the best and works for many. Have you checked the instructional videos at Mark 7 customer community? There was just recently some video on adjusting the indexing. If your indexing is off, you would crush cases in any station... BTW, if you have anything else available, try some other resizing die? I found that the Lee undersize that came with the machine, was very tight and required some break-in. Mighty Armory has just released 9mm resizing dies, maybe they would be smoother? With the undersize Lee you are going to need to use higher clutch setting anyway. If 6 is enough, I wouldn't worry. Proper oiling and rocker bar doesn't hang. Maybe you need to adjust your swaging? I have had no issues with NT-brass with proper swage. I don't understand how the low primer sensor would affect dropping primers. The microswitch for low primer sensor is not even touching the primers. Please post a picture of your case feeder, how is the spring thingy adjusted? Mine is getting stuck every 100 cases...
  16. I don't think that you should bell the case with the powder funnel. Use separate expander die for the belling. Lähetetty minun SM-G965F laitteesta Tapatalkilla
  17. I would remind you that Mark 7 is still a business trying to make profit after heavy investments into product development. Lots of parts already made by subcontractors so I would guess the margins are not that big anyway.
  18. Any more information about the mentioned upgrades?
  19. SwageSense comes with the Pro package (or at least did when I ordered). For bullet sense I have not found any need, at least not with 9mm FMJ bullets and when using Redding Premium expander die. Bullets drop very straight to the case and stay there, at least with the speeds that I have run the machine so far (around 1300--1700 RPH). Maybe bulletsense is needed if you run it faster, load coated bullets or different calibers... PowderSense I would add since the powder measure does not have a mechanical forced return. Has not happened to me, but it could get stuck and then you could end up with squib loads.
  20. I also got the Dram Worx powder hopper. He promised to replace it due to the diameter change but I just sanded it down and now it fits, screws line up too. Lähetetty minun SM-G965F laitteesta Tapatalkilla
  21. Yes, my order of the dies is: Case feed Mighty Armory decapping die (amazing stuff, highly recommended!) Mighty Armory swage backup die / SwageSense Redding Premium Titanium Carbide resizing die with the decapping pin removed / priming Redding Premium Expander die Powder measure -empty- / waiting for PowderSense Mr. Bulletfeeder Redding Competition micrometer seating die Redding micrometer taper crimp die Works well.
  22. I don't think Evolution, Pro or not, is the right machine for that style of reloading. Evolution, even without autodrive, is a high volume optimized machine, meant for cranking thousands of rounds per session. And like I said, I measured my Mark 7 powder measure and the charges were quite accurate, definitely accurate enough for practical shooting winning ammo.
  23. I do have a spacer on both sides of the powder measure, but also had issues with the powder measure getting stuck. Mark 7 instructed me to remove the left side link arm while waiting for a final fix. That fixed the stickiness for me. About the powder measure accuracy, that variation you are getting sounds quite big. I have a very accurate analytical scale (just calibrated, maximum error was 0.0001 grams) that I used to weigh 20 charges of VV 3N38. The spread was 0.09 grains which is in my opinion very good result. Probably the huge variation you are getting is result of the powder measure sticking, I'm sure Mark 7 will take care of that for you.
  24. Are you sure you had the powder measure set up right? At least I haven't noticed any spillage and I'm loading quite full cases of 9mm major.
  25. Got my Brass Juice handgun case lube. Quickly testing, it feels better than the Dillon, not as sticky. With non-lubed cases I had to go up to 8-10/20 on the digital clutch. Using Brass Juice resizing 9mm worked with as little as 1-2/20. Highly recommended!
