Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I had one of these years ago and sold it as I wasn't find of the sharp machining on the frame (notable using the front cocking serrations). A local shop had this on consignment this morning for less than I paid new way back in 2010 so it came home with me. The original trigger and front sight are in the case so nice to have them. The straight trigger has a replacement trigger pin with Torx on one side and square not on the other. Seems Henning used a horseshoe-shaped nut so maybe this is an EAA kit installed? Anybody recognize it? I'll need new mags (or at least new springs)...two of the three don't lock the slide back
  2. The trigger job is from Wilson. The kit is a new trigger bar, lighter springs and some basic clean up on the sear. The production run was never 500...it was always 1000. First batch was 500....second batch to follow. I'm also disappointed that its become a standing model now as I was lucky enough to get two in the first 1000 and thought I'd hold onto one to collect. Ended up selling it to another enthusiast b/c it was sequential to one he got and he wanted one for his brother.
  3. Wilson is the distributor; the warranty is through Beretta. Bill doesn't run the business day to day...he's semi-retired. His son runs things now. Have you tried swapping barrels between the two guns? Or, swap complete uppers? Other issue could be that the sights are off somehow.
  4. I put a Combat front and rear on my beater Inox Brig. The rear is actually an LPA - they've got nice matched sets in whatever height you want. Its basically the tallest factory set made but still don't think it will clear my TiRant can. Borrowed an original production G-SD from a buddy; I'll likely buy it from him as I had plans to buy another BrigTac and have it Metalifed at Mahovsky. This GS-D will be a much cheaper starting point...
  5. Additionally, the big win with the Wilson bar is that it is harder metal Yep - I know the OEM one flexes as well. On my Brig-Tac, it flexes and causes a drag on the early production grips. On my 90-Two w/ the grip sleeve, it sounds plasticky because that's what its rubbing on. Certainly bowing out in the middle under load doesn't improve trigger feel whatsoever. I just wish the Wilson part wasn't $80 as I have too many 92's to buy for. Guess I should try it on one first but I'm afraid I'll like it.
  6. Can you run the new trigger bar that Wilson and Langdon came up with? Supposed to shorten the reset
  7. The Brig has slightly less recoil and muzzle flip due to the heavier slide and of course a front dovetail.
  8. I saw this pic on Reddit and finally a 1911 called to me.... Its really nice...still not used to the square-edged trigger compared to my other Sig's though...
  9. check cabelas...that's where mine came from and were returned. they might still be available ($30ea from them).
  10. got my refund from Cabela's on Friday and a box from EAA with six new mags today (nine in total). I've got 1k rounds of Winchester Ranger but I'm waiting on my PMC order to come in from PSA before shooting. Also ordered two more 9mm's....an SCCY and a Bersa Thunder UC. The local indoor range has been BUSY (Silver Eagle Group) so I'm waiting for another trip to the farm to shoot. Maybe next weekend. I've tried calling EAA to order a 6" barrel...can't ever get through. Hmm.
  11. ahh, is that it? interference at the bottom, eh?
  12. Got the new pair of mags from the shop that sold me the gun. Nearly identical to the factory mag....just a slight different in sheen on the plastic base plate. That said, they take a little more force to lock into the gun but they feed fine. Suggestions on what need to be filed on the mag to make them a little more reliable to snap in? that notch on the side? Here's the sticker from EAA; correct P/N is 101935
  13. will a competent smith be able to trim and thread the barrel? don't know how common those skills are.....seems like they should be.
