    Assymmetrical grips?

Thanks...I appreciate all of the input. I know my grip is probably lacking for sure so will spend time on that first. Am I trying to make GM? I just want to be in the hunt, competition-wise. I have the bug to try USPSA and so brought the SP01 strictly for competing in that. We have a great local club with 2 matches/month plus some other local fun matches. z

    Assymmetrical grips?

I was able to pick up a used set of the thin metal grips for my SP01 and am starting to think i need either more grip tape on the right side or to put the stock rubber grip back on the right side only. The gun seems to slide around a bit in my hand with just the thin grips and my accuracy is just not good as it is with my P07 or bone stock P01. The reason i went to the thin grips was i can reach the mag release and slide release better. Does an assymmetrical grip setup seem practical or should i just work on my grip more? Thanks!
  3. If the electronics dont fail early in its life cycle, most likely they wont fail at all. Battery contacts etc should be covered under the general warranty. Vortex has a great warranty, but Leupolds are built like tanks.
  4. Great! thanks for all the inputs. I am building a CO gun and want to use it, but still compete in production. thanks much... z
  5. I did I search for this and nothing popped up. Can one compete in 2 different divisions at a match? Say production and then another run in Carry optics? I would assume not as it might be an advantage to run the same COF twice. Thanks z
  6. I would highly recommend Trail Boss then.
  7. I like the way it meters as well. But when you look at the shape of the powder (big donut shaped grains) I would never expect it to meter as well as it does.

    Why flat black rear sight?

hahaha...no worries. I do the same from time to time. Have had two good dryfire sessions and I really like it. zane
  9. I just got a pair of glasses with a +.75 prescription for the right eye and no adjustment in the left. Works really well for focusing on the FS and still being able to see the target.

    Why flat black rear sight?

It worked great and my dryfire practice just now seemed to be a bit better at getting the sights on target faster...time will tell...

    SP01 feed/jamming problem?

I loaded up a bunch of RN and the HP this weekend, did the plunk/spin test, also loaded a bullet into a empty case and pushed it into the chamber. Backed off slightly from that length. Still had problems with the HP's. The RN were perfect. I also tried the HP in my P07. Ended up with one jam, exactly the same as what occurred on the SP01. Definitely the bullet profile/OAL. The interesting thing is they group the best... z
  12. One more advantage of Trail Boss...its cheap. But there is less powder by weight in a standard 1 lb bottle due to it being so fluffy. I think it is 3 or 4 ounces less that a LB.

    Why flat black rear sight?

Very good, I will try that first. I'm excited to try the blacked out RS as I got a few comments at my first match that I was very deliberate...which is a euphemism for being very slow to acquire the target and reasonably accurate once I did. I am certain this will help my get my sight on target faster. Thanks Rowdy. z
  14. The Lee Precision staff are always very helpful if you call them. Would be interesting to hear what you find out. I have two of these and am curious now as to how they are stamped. z
  15. My son just moved from a G19 /trijicon RMR combo to a CZ P10/trijicon RMR for CO. I am shocked at how well I can hit out at longer ranges with his P10. Amazing trigger and the ergonomics are much better than the G19 (for me anyway). The RMR is so much better at longer ranges for me, so am getting ready to have my P07 optic milled.
  16. for SASS shooting, try Trailboss...easy to load, extremely mild. I think it was designed just for cowboy action shooters. I love it in my 45 colts (rifle and pistols). thanks zane

    Why flat black rear sight?

Great idea Nathan...thanks for sharing it. Now to see if my wife will miss some bristles from her brushes. I'm excited to try this as I know I am spending too much time trying to line everything up.

    Why flat black rear sight?

Interesting. I'm going to pop the fiber optic rods out of my rear sight and see if I can plug the holes w something black. I have my second match Saturday so will be a good time to try it. Thanks for the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I use DP FO sights with red front and green rear on my CZ's. Everyone i shoot with uses the same front but flat black rears. I notice many posts on BE where sights are mentioned and its the same, FO front, flat black rear. Why is that or what is the advantage? Thanks Zane

    SP01 feed/jamming problem?

Got it, I do the plunk test everytime I buy a new bullet and load according to that. I learned early on to also chamber check as you suggest...dont ask how...:-) I have two other CZ I am going to try the 124gr HPFP in to see if the problem follows the round. I really hope it is not my gun, but I know for certain I cannot increase the overall length as it wont chamber for sure. Funny thing is these are the most accurate Berrys Ive loaded...I use 3.6gr of TG and they really group well. Thanks for the reply. z

    SP01 feed/jamming problem?

Can you explain 'properly made' a bit more? Are you referring to the COAL? As in its possible too short or or something else? thanks zr

    SP01 feed/jamming problem?

OK, I was able to hit the range today for a short time and the jam happened once in 50 rounds with a megcar mag whereas last night it happened with the CZ mags that it came with. So...I dont think its the mag. I also shot ~60 rounds of reloads with a round nose bullet (both 115gr and 124 gr Berry's). No jams, smooth running all the way. These are also a little longer COAL - 1.13-1.14. Again, I based the COAL on the 'plunk' test. SO, I am pretty sure its the COAL or the target HP's (square nose). Its disappointing as they shoot very well out of the SP01. thanks, z
  23. Was shooting a match last night with my new SP01. Had 3 incidents where a round jammed on the bottom of the feed ramp and I am not sure if it is mag related or more likely, the ammo I'm using. The rounds are reloads using Berry's 124 gr target hollow points with a COAL of 1.05. The COAL was based on the 'plunk' test and I had ran ~50 through the gun before the match with no problems. When the jam occurred, the nose of the bullet was jammed against the bottom of the feed ramp and also pushed the rest of the rounds in the magazine down nose first. Made it very difficult to get the mag out. Has anyone else experienced this problem with shorter COAL rounds or should I look at the mags? thanks z
  24. Any guesstimate on how many pieces it took to wear one out? 5000? 10000+ or ? z
