    Hi All,

I'm hoping some of you can share some experience based opinions. I'm an experienced shooter but an IDPA novice.

I'm in the process of building a CZ SP-01 for Carry optics but lead times for the work put completion well into the fall.

I'm considering a Sig Sauer P226 SAO Legion RDS for this summer.

I know the general complaint about the P226 is that is has greater bore axis than other choices (like the CZ), but does that really mater in Carry Optics?

The Sig P320 seems to be the most popular CO choice in my area right now and the bore access of the 320 seems to be about the same as the 226.

The single action only trigger (with a little polishing) is near perfect and I like the Romeo Pro Optics.

So, popularity aside, can you share your thoughts, pro and con, on using the Sig Sauer P226 SAO Legion RDS for Carry Optics ?

    Thanks in advance.

Shoot what ever gun you shoot well. I carry a 365XL and M&P so I switch between those guns.

The smith and Wesson M&P2.0 metal, has a good trigger to begin with. mine breaks at about 4 1⁄2 -5 lbs, so  unless you shooting bulls eye matches. I don't see the need to change it. This is very quickly becoming my favorite pistol.  I never was a smith and Wesson auto, fan.  loved their revolvers. I shoot mostly USPSA IDPA and 3 gun combat style matches, I guess I am just not that Trigger sensitive.

All my others have a 3.5# trigger like to keep them all the same.

Metal Frame action update.   I obtained a sear spring plunger and installed it along with an Apex sear spring and sear and the Apex striker block in my Metal Frame.  So far it appears to work just fine.  It improved the trigger pull noticeably and reduced it from 6+ pounds to about 4 pounds.   So, the Apex parts work in these guns.

I took my apex forward set trigger out of my 5" polymer and it only works in the metal with the stock trigger. With the apex trigger it wont push sear  enough checked before I put the slide on. Works good with all but trigger. I just got a Overwatch precision trigger feels good haven't done any live fire yet.

A massive amount of Ginex seems to have landed.  Prices are the same as 2022.  Which isn’t great but not bad either.  Federals are nowhere to be found still up here

I take it you can't buy online?

With the LnL the bolt holding the shell plate will loosen-up.  This causes a lot of little problems, make sure it is tight.  I use an o-ring under the bolt to keep it tight.

X2 on removing the spring from the seating die.

X2 on getting less variation with same headstamp brass.  You don't need to sort but you get, IMHO more consistent reloads.

X2 on a consistent stroke/pressure helps, this takes time to develop.  Don't rush to how many you can reload in an hour rather see how good you can make you reloads every hour.

I use a split lock washer on the shell plate and that made a huge difference.

Double alpha has a plastic creation that requires an Allen wrench. It works great but only  a little cheaper than the metal version. Doing it again and probably get the metal.

What I like about DAA is that you can buy one for each caliber set up and ready to go. Guess could do same with other just cost more.

Apex says their sear, striker block, etc. for the 2.0 polymer guns aren't "certified" for use in the metal frames.  I know why.

I have a regular 4.25" Metal Frame and discovered the striker block has been changed from the polymer guns.  The former spring and plunger under the sear on the polymer guns has been changed to use a longer spring and no plunger.   That said, I installed an Apex DCAEK in my Metal Frame by using the Apex spring and buying the plunger on-line.  So far it has worked just fine.

I have the APEX forward set trigger in my plastic one so  I switched them over to the metal the APEX trigger won't push sear back enough to fire. So I left the internals and put stock trigger back on and put 500 rounds through it without any problems and trigger is about 3.5lbs with stock trigger and APEX sear and springs.

So you have a competitor and have tried it in regular M&P 5" holsters & it fits?

I've been told by Bladetech that the competitor is not compatible with M&P 5 inch holsters because the frame is thicker.  I also called Shooters Connection and they told me the same thing.

I got a BLADE Tech and it works with My plastic M&P9 but hangs up on the M&P9 Metal.

I will be curious how the P322 runs with that setup.  The RMR is 1.2 oz + the weight of the plate makes it a heavier combo than a traditional RMSc optic.  Most run from 0.4 - 1.0 oz.  I was worried that the HS407K might be too heavy at 1.0 oz with cheap bulk ammo.

I have 407K on mine and runs with CCI standard velocity ammo

Yes it does. They still have that horribly long handle movement. The press appears to have some great features and innovations, especially for the price. However that 180 degree plus handle movement is too much. Still staying with and recommending Blue.

Now if they would sell a brass feeder/collator for half the price....

I just watched some video wow that's a long ass stroke.

Holosun 512. If you think you will ever shoot in the rain 😉  Also, less susceptible to sun reflections over your shoulder. You get a 2 moa dot for precision, a big-ass circle for hosing. Put the BAC over the round part of the steel and shoot. Use the sides of the circle for lead compensation for moving targets and use the bottom tic on the circle for close-up targets.

I have used the 510C for the last 4 years with no issue. The 512 was added after I got rained on in Utah and lost half the reticle to a slow to evaporating rain drop on the LED.

    isn't the 512 discontinued?
