Doesn't really look to me like you want a points series.
Sense you don't want to reward performance, let me suggest a better point series.
Everybody that finishes a match (no DQ) gets 2 points, help setup 1 point, help tear down 1 point, design a stage 1 point, bring a new shooter 2 points. Match score will reward the skills and you can reward the guys that keep your club running.
Just my .02

I have had my Super 1050 and KISS for quite a while and need to ask a question. I switched it over to do 9mm and it works perfectly.
Except.......... one annoying little thing. On the upstroke the KISS supplied powder funnel "catches" on the way out of the case mouth and you get a little "stick" on the upstroke. It "catches" just a little and then you continue on the upstroke and everything is fine, until the next cycle.
I have taken out the powder funnel and polished it with Flitz and I have rubbed the end of the powder funnel with a "Cling Free" sheet and it still does it. If I back off the powder die to lessen the "stick" then it does not bell the case mouth enough to properly activate the bullet drop.
So................any other suggestions? Thanks.
I had the same problem, worst with new or freshly cleaned cases. Switched to the standard 1050 angle only powder funnel, which made it a little trickier to set the bell, but runs a LOT smoother.

Only one match left this year, and that will be the Fall Classic in Milan. I am looking forward to that. It will be pretty cold, so I got me some UnderArmour cold gear. That should keep me nice and toasty while I shoot cardboard people.
Are you shooting both days?
Plan to shoot an iron sight division, probably limited on Saturday
I could bring my spare Open gun and you could try the dark side
See you there,
Sherwyn
I was thinking of shooting my production rig in some other division. An open gun is semi tempting though. =O
I will have the spare with me and plenty of 9mm ammo (it may be a little faster than your 9mm ammo).

I have a set of Pro-Ear Promag gold muffs that don't seem to seal very well and feel like they are putting no pressure on my ears, any suggestions.
I know this may sound dumb to some but it is almost like I am not even wearing them it is that loud at times. I have resorted to using foam plugs also 33db under them and then turning them up all the way to get any sound, it must be loud to others around me.
They replaced my headband for me --new one was much tighter. give them a call.

Looks like I'm still in #34 for the Open with Alamoshooter and Unka Bill.
The other 10 shooters asked to get ...off of my squad ?
I'm one of them ... see you there.
Don't know who I replaced, but you got me in the trade -- must have been a cash for clunkers deal

1971 Last dodge I ever owned, but it sure was fun while I had it.

Actually I think it would be beyond the box. I don't see any possible way that all the target distances and shoot angles could be kept equal. Equitable challenge is also why target stands and sticks are marked - to make sure every shooter has exactly the same challenge.
Sherwyn
It's still "freestyle", the location and marking of the "no shoot" targets changes per the card drawn by the shooter as long as the targets created the same equitable challenge for everyone. I haven't found anything in the rules to support it being illegal, and it's just the kind of thing you have to consider to be "thinking outside the box", which is kind of what USPSA promotes. It would be a real PITA to pull off the equitable challenge though. -

I sent in my App while ago, do you sent out any kind of confirmation, or squading info? Is there a chrono stage? Thanks
We are getting a lot of late entries, so squading is not finalized.
Will send additional info to e-mails I have.
What would a sectional match be without a Chrono...but it's not one of the 9

Hey Sherwyn or Nick, how many do you have signed up and how many per class? Is the revolver division looking bigger this year?
Thanks--
Bruce Schmidt
We still have entries coming in and still have room.
But so far no revolver entries...

Are you coming to the Great Plains / Iowa sections match?

We have room for more shooters.
9 stages, 265 rounds
Stages are now posted on the web site. Enjoy!!! -
What are you using for a magwell?
I had some issues with the grip flexing before I went to an aluminum magwell.
Would also check that the sides of the trigger bow are not slightly bent inward...might be able to cure it by refitting the trigger. Inserted mag should not be able to make any contact.

Any chance you could post of picture of those...I've been called crazy (for more than just this- but) for saying that the old Federal #200 was both small pistol mag and small rifle.
Thanks,
Sherwyn
Sherwyn:
Here you go...
And now the #200 is marked small pistol magnum...Thank you for the proof that I am not totally nuts...at least in this case.
And I do remember those prices

.
I have a bunch of Federal No. 200 primers which are labeled "Small Rifle Primers and High Velocity Pistol". Magnum small pistol primers have a thicker cup than regular small pistol primers to handle the higher pressures involved.

Don't believe you will break down synthetic oil in 5,000 miles (probably a lot more), but the contamination will get you.
I run Mobil 1 to 5k, but change the filter at 2,500 - yes it probably is overkill, but cheap compared to repairs.

i appreciate everyone's comments.
here are some answers.
i don't want to think it was a squib . . . because i don't want to think it was a squib
i want to believe i am better builder.
however, i cannot rule it out.
i can also believe that was the problem.
but why would the two following rounds ftf?
after the gun was field stripped, broken down, striker removed and reset and fired, all was well?
thanks again for the insight.
nels
What did the primer look like on the squib round...have heard of squib loads backing primer out. If that happened, primer might have sheared into firing pin channel and cushioned the firing pin on the next rounds.

I seem to have a hammer follow problem with my STI Grandmaster open pistol. BUT, it only happens every 275-300 rounds (usually match time..argh).
I tweaked the far left sear spring foreword and I allowed for a bit more overtravel (from the recommendation off this board) but it just happened again yesterday during a practice session. Any additional suggestions to try out? Other than the sporadic hammer follow it runs like a swiss army watch...
Any help would be appreciated.
/quote]
Check to make sure there is no contact between hammer strut and center of spring.
Also check that you can't force the spring far enough left to fall off.

In the truck on drive to match
Wish I could find more like it on CD

1050 broken shell plate
in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Posted
Loading 9mm on 1050
Normally runs smooth, noticed small part of shell plate fall out. When I removed plate, almost every location is cracked. I can not come up with a reason or even something that might be set wrong to do it.
Anyone seen anything like this before on a 1050?
Thanks,
Sherwyn
