I would look at the wording of 9.9.1
9.9.1 Moving scoring targets which present at least a portion of the highest
scoring area when at rest following the completion of their designed
movement, or which continuously appear and disappear, will always
incur failure to shoot at and/or miss penalties (exception see Rule
9.2.4.4). See Appendix B2 or B3 for the percent of target to be pre-
sented.
Any target that the competitor can reactivate has not completed its "designed movement"

A few notes about the cameras on the interstate by Sioux City, Iowa.
There were several court cases challenging the use of cameras in Iowa, all decided in favor of the cameras.
Sioux City waited until these were resolved before the cameras went in.
The city claims it is for "Safety" yet the city counsel had the projected revenue from the camera project spent before the contract was signed. The cameras are operated by an independent firm that owns and installs them - so no city investment to get it started.
The citation is written to the vehicle, it does not matter who was driving (it goes on no driving record). Failure to pay if you are a Iowa resident will keep you from getting your vehicle license renewed.
Another Iowa speed limit note - the last time the highway speed limit was raised, the fines for speeding were doubled. This was not done by Iowa Department of Transportation or supported by them. It originated with the dept of revenue.
Be aware of red light cameras as well. Around here they like to add a small "no right turn on red" sign where ever they put up the stoplight camera. I got a ticket from this - been turning right on red at that corner for years (even had a turning lane).

I am not sure about the elbow - but I can tell you that I had the same type of thing with my shoulder. I do believe it was related to the priming with my 650.
Made the switch to a 1050 for the majority of my loading and the shoulder issue disappeared. I had gone to only loading 500 rounds at a sitting, but was again able to do 1k+ at a sitting.
Of course I have even less trouble now as I have gone to the PW on my 1050. Still use the 650 for all smaller quantity loading.
If you are not using a roller handle -- get one.

My son and I ran KG coatings on our open guns for 4+ years, one over hard chrome and the other started in the white.
We had them refinished this year, as both got new barrels, comps and slides. I was extremely pleased with how they held up.
Only have a couple matches on the new finish

The 2 day early Saturday and early Sunday is full.
Plenty of spots for single day Friday or Saturday. Late 2 day is filling but think I should add that late shift starts at 10:30 am on Sunday and is scheduled to finish by 1:30 pm

Great fun, until my 1911 picked the middle of the stage to choke.
Lets see 375 rounds, 14 stages = 26.79 rounds per stage, guess not many Short Courses.
And e gads, concerns with PROPS. I'm more worried now than before.
There will be one eight round stage, at least the minimum will be 8 rounds -- all steel even the no - shoots.
We have extra stages approved, so will get them all up soon.

Let's see it's 38 days 15 hours 14 minutes to the Area 3, as per the Area 3 Website.
And I still don't see any stage descriptions. Am I just missing something?
Might be nice to know at least the round count, special starts or other things to consider before getting to the match.
Or is this going to be a surprise match? Haven't been to one of those since the '80's.
I'm holding up the stage release - stages are approved, but working out some issues with props.
Plan on 375+ rounds, some unloaded starts, otherwise pretty standard stuff.

Is Hornady going to offer bullets by the case again? If so any idea on price.
Has not been decided yet.

Easiest way I found to define without stipulating order is to define 2 target arrays.
As target array A is T1, T3, T5, T7
Target array B is T2, T4, T6, T8
On start signal engage either array A or B perform a mandatory reload and engage the remaining array.
And I believe 8 rounds was used to stay consistent with not requiring more than 8 rounds without from single view.

My favorite practice steel is a 2/3 scale metric target with the A zone cut out and a separate steel behind the cut out.
Gives me instant feed back for anything outside the A -- I usually paint all but the A

I presume (Never ass ume any more) that you are
getting good result with other headstamps? Win
and RP are loading normally?
Are your FC also have an NT after The FC?
I have no experience with any bullets being
pushed back into the case only in certain
headstamps.

That would be correct. I haven't noticed any problems with Win or RP. Nothing after FC, just "F C".
Same type of issue I had before I switched to EGW undersize sizing die. Problem gone.

I usually put a slight bevel on the top edge of the spring cap...just add bevel until you have full contact of hammer on firing pin stop.
Easily done with drill and file and allows use of pin and easy assembly.

Hello: I have found HS-6 to be very stable temp wise. That is why I used it at nationals last year. It also has been very good jug to jug but I still test after I open a new jug to make sure. Thanks, Eric

I will definitely chrono when I open a new jug, I was just hoping I wouldn't get wild swings from lot to lot.
I have been using HS-6 in 9 major for several years, I no longer check for variation. In my guns it likes to run about 175 PF...burns cleaner there and lowest extreme spread. Chrono at Area 6 had 3 rounds within 2 FPS.

My Dillon scale has always drifted if I leave anything on it.
My understanding is that the eletronics in the scale are always searching for zero. If you have the same weight on it and zero it, it doesn't drift. If it does drift, remove charge, hit zero and it is fine. Have rechecked mine over and over again - as long as it is on zero before you put weight on it, it is accurate.
When I am loading, I leave pan on scale, with it zeroed. Check my charge and remove from scale and do not see any drift this way. But anytime I leave something on it at any reading other than zero, it will drift.

Use a sonic cleaner at work and in most situations if the unit has a heater it works twice as well and several times faster.
Doubt most of the small units have heaters, believe the new magnum Hornady one does - That's the one I will be trying.

This question came up this weekend and we all had mixed feelings and answers.
Scenario:
A competitor is waiting for their turn to shoot, standing off to the side of the stage, "air-gunning" draws and target shots. During the motion of the draw the competitor's jacket sleeve catches the gun and lifts it to the point of ALMOST coming completely out of the holster. Had the person not felt it and caught the gun it would have fallen out. (1 inch of the muzzle remained in the holster)
So here is the question;
1. Is this a DQ offence – unsafe gun handling?
If so, would the competitor be better off letting the gun fall to the ground and calling a RO over to clear and re-holster? NOTE: We know it's never a good idea to let a gun hit the ground….this is more for rule clarification.
Yes - if the trigger is exposed and compeitior is holding / trapping gun - it is handling outside course of fire...DQ
Probably been covered here somewhere - there is NROI ruling regarding this situation

Hello friends, I wonder how often you have to change red dot module in the cmore(1-2-3 years, months).
Thanks for your comments.
Usually one of two things will happen...
Either you will seem to be changing the battery more frequently (actually the module has dimmed and never gets as bright)
Or you may actually see a dark spot in the center of the red dot.
Really depends on amount of "on" time I seldom run mine more that a season.

Maybe we just need to look at
1.1.5 Freestyle – USPSAmatches are freestyle. Competitors must be permit-
ted to solve the challenge presented in a freestyle manner, and to shoot
targets on an “as and when visible” basis. Courses of fire must not
require mandatory reloads nor dictate a shooting position, location or
stance, except as specified below. However, conditions may be created,
and barriers or other physical limitations may be constructed, to com-
pel a competitor into shooting positions, locations or stances.
Course almost always require a shooter to do something to get targets visible.
By the logic in this thread, any star, swinger, etc that is activated by a door, port or whatever, would be a disappearing target if the door or port was closed.
