  1. No offense to the OP, but this is certainly not the whole story. People are not paid $600K for baseless legal claims in reality. If she was paid this amount, it's because she had very favorable facts on her side and the defense attorneys thought they were likely to lose her case and pay her even more if they tried the case in court. That is a guaranteed fact. There are meritless or frivolous claims, but defense attorneys pay minor nuisance settlements to make those claims go away. Defense lawyers aren't stupid. They pay big money like this after careful analysis BECAUSE the claim clearly had merit based on the objective facts not the other way around. It doesn't necessarily mean she deserved it, but the evidence was on her side.
  2. I have the AXTS AX556 also and couldn't be happier. It may have minor compatibility issues with billet uppers though. Search my previous posts regarding compatibility with my JP PSC11 upper. It was relatively easy to fix though.
  3. I really like the ruger 10/45 lite and bought that for my kids.
  4. RC for me too. It is a little lighter, easier to add accessories to and looks better in my opinion.
  5. I went with the 26 inch real tree field model. I would have preferred the standard black, but the two they had turned out to be 28 inch models. The primary reason I decided against the tactical model was that I just don't like the look of the mag tube sticking out so far past the barrel. I plan on ordering the carbon arms tube when it is released and then sending the gun to Benny Hill. He has a fast turnaround and a good reputation here. I also thought the extra length might be better suited for the recreational clay shooting I do. I suppose I could hunt ruffed grouse with it if I wanted. Not sure if there are any capacity restrictions for grouse. Thanks for all the advice.
  6. Pardon my ignorance, but is the 3.5inch capacity necessary for anything? Also, if I'm planning on running 10 or 11+1, won't the magazine tube stick so far out past a 22inch barrel that the extra barrel length is irrelevant. This is what I gather from reading the thread by co-exprs. What downside would there be to the barrel being longer? Wouldn't the extra length make it more multifunctional for other shooting?
  7. Does the tactical have the same loading chamber as the standard/field model?
  8. I need to get a non-open shotgun and have read a number of positive threads here about the versamax, but I don't see any clear answer about what model is ideal. My local gun shop has the zombie 22 inch, tactical 22 inch, real tree HD 26 inch, and normal synthetic 26 inch models in stock. It used to be (when I was researching last year) that the 22 inch tactical was the most commonly recommended, but lately the standard synthetic 26 inch seems to be most recommended. The real tree HD model seems to be the same as the standard synthetic but with extended chock instead of internal chock. Thanks in advance for any insight.
  9. I ordered the psc12 in 18 inch yesterday. We'll see how long the wait ends up being. I have no idea how far out they are on builds now.
  10. No feedback on the Benny product or comparison? I was very interested in how they compare, but I ordered the psc12 from jp yesterday.
  11. Their website says 50% payment for your order to be put in line. Is that not true? Hate to have them sit on that much money for months.
  12. I started a thread with questions about JP 308s earlier today and one question I had was how the value compared to other options that are regularly mentioned here. Benny Hill's name comes up frequently, so I thought it would be better to start a new thread getting some feedback regarding the comparison between the two products. I would love to hear any feedback, experiences, or even opinions comparing the two, especially from anyone who is familiar with both.
  13. I have read good things about his work. I should probably try to get some feedback from anyone who has shot both. Different topic I guess.
  14. Weight aside, what length is most commonly used in competitive heavy metal? I doubt that I would ever have the skill to shoot 1000 yards even if the gun could, but it seems like guys like Benny Hill recommend 20 inc in .308.
  15. co-exprs: How much does your whole LRP-07 weigh? What stock do you have? I think I saw you post that you might have preferred the medium contour 20 over the light 18 for recoil reasons. Is that still the case? What comp did you get? Are there any comps that are not allowed in competition? What you said above is why I went with the PSC-11 over the SCR-11.
  16. Looking to get an ar style 308 for a mixture of longer range target, heavy metal, and hunting. Can anyone explain the pros and cons between 18 and 20 inch barrels? I know one weighs a few ounces more but what is the actual weight difference? There are no weights listed on the site. I also know that one is mid-length gas vs. rifle length. Does that matter with an adjustable gas block? Is there a weight difference between the LRP-07 and the PSC-12? Any reason one is preferred over the other? I already have an 18 inch PSC-11 and am from MN so I'm leaning towards JP, but are there "better" options for the money?
  17. The overwhelming advice for a starter smaller budget optic in these threads is always tac30 or mtac.
  18. I did a lot of research and shopping around and ended up with the PSC11. I'm very happy with it so far. The company is a pleasure to do business with. One of the few manufacturers that it is almost impossible to find negative threads about. I would say that the PSC11 with the billet AXTS556 lower I had built up by JP weighs more than I thought it would. The side charge upper is sweet, but the billet upper seems to add some heft. Without looking, I'm not sure how much. Same with the billet lower vs. forged, although I absolutely would not trade the fully ambi controls on the lower. Hope that helps you out.
  19. I have really enjoyed my MTAC. You'll have to find a deal to get one with a mount for that budget though. When I was researching, the Burris Tac30 and the MTAC were by far the most frequently recommended budget optic for three gun.
  20. I have the JP on a JP PSC11 and I find that it doesn't offset forward quite as far as I would like for use with my MTAC. It is well made and still works by putting the first two screws forward of the flat top on the upper, but I would prefer to not have to do that. JP customer service assures me that the back three screws will hold it just fine.
  21. Valid point, but I had m heart set on this combo and they are going to mill down the paddle for free and ship it back. I live only a couple of hours from there and had a friend going that way who is dropping off tonight. Really great customer service there. Couldn't be happier with how they handled this issue, which wasn't their fault.
  22. Thanks for the replies. While trying to trouble shoot this with the staff at JP I noticed that the bolt release paddle that comes as part of the AX556 lower is intentionally over-sized as a design feature. This is all well and good if the lower is used with a standard upper, ...but with the billet PSC11, there is extra material in the way that prevents the bolt release from depressing and pinches the bolt release up against the bolt internally preventing charging. The recess that is milled to accommodate this on the JP upper isn't large enough to account for the over-sized bolt release paddle. Since the bolt release part is proprietary to the ambi function of the AX556 design, the only options seem to be milling material out of the way on the upper or milling the current paddle down to the smaller mil-spec size. I'm waiting for feedback/pricing from the folks at JP. I don't know how to attach a photo. Needless to say after months of waiting this is an aggravating hiccup.
