Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Have you checked the clearance on the trigger bow interacting with the hammer itself? Have you adjusted pre and over travel recently? Make sure the hammer is not dragging, test by holding hammer back, pulling trigger, and feeling for any drag. If present, adjust over travel out so there is no drag on hammer. This can slow the hammer down just enough to cause your problem, and it will be random. I chased this once for a while before I figured it out.
  2. I shoot the BBI exclusevely with 125 gr projos using Autocomp in Open, and 147 gr projos with titegroup in minor guns for 3 gun. (I may be a little biased...). My load is 6.6gr AC, KKM barrel with 2 popple holes and 3 port comp with last port angled side cuts. I run 171 PF average with no leading in the holes or the comp. I also use case lube to protect the comp as a "just in case" measure. Smoke may be actually caused by this as well. I have no issues with accuracy as well as consistency. It is worth it in the savings alone, especially since I am not sacrificing accuracy or consistency.
  3. Thanks, and hope everyone had a great time. I will be finishing scores this evening, and will email out to competitors. Stay tuned for next month. We have some new targets coming in, and a bunch of new steel is in the works.
  4. Update for all: We will be setting up on Friday, and we will shoot rain or shine on Saturday, pending the range conditions stay safe. Round count: 100 rifle, 100 pistol, 100 birdshot to be safe and 4 slugs. Be ready for some prone positions, and NO slings needed. Sign-in 07:45-08;30 Shooters meeting 08:30 Hammer down at 08:45 Please remember that the waiver and insurance fee will be due at signup for 2015 on match day. See you out on the range! Michael.
  5. We are excited to announce our first 3GN Club Series match of the year for Defense Competition Multigun. Match date is February 28th at Pacleb Ranch. We have officially separated from Thunder Tactical Shooters, and are a stand alone entity. Match will be 7 stages, including 2 classifiers. Online signup and payment is active now, at http://matchsignup.org/match/default.php?matchid=363 Match fee is $35.00. IMPORTANT: At signup, new waivers will need to be filled out, and a one time annual fee of $10.00 is due for insurance. Please show up a few minutes early so we can get the paperwork completed prior to the shooters meeting. We are excited to be working with our match and series sponsors, Defense Competition Ltd, Black Bullets International, and Lone Star Innovations, and we will be holding a 10 stage match in November, please put it on the calendar now! We look forward to seeing everyone out there! Michael
  6. Cheap Frankford case lube in a spray bottle, 1 spray in each port before a match. I am running BBI 125's at 174 PF with no issues of leading or buildup. Just like everything else on an open gun, maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. I think I will watch out and if I see anything built up, I will try the CLP trick out.
  7. Sorry, we have been getting ready for the club to "launch". Yes, we will be at Pacleb Ranch, 4th Saturday of every month. We are working the separation on the clubs, and are in process of making everything happen. I am ironing out the details like Insurance, etc...it is taking quite a lot of time, and with the holiday in the mix, it is slowing it down a bit. Right now, we are planning on a full GO in February, as it looks like the paperwork side will not be completed in time for a January match. Stay tuned, and make sure that if you have not shot with us before, contact me and I will add you to the email list for the monthly blast.
  8. For what its worth, I have seen production guns tighten up grouping with heavier bullets. Have you tried the 135 or 147 and repeated the test? It does look like there is a stabilization issue going on if those are off a rest. My 9mm minor load, out of Glock, CZ, 1911, and 2011 all are within 1.5" out of a rest at 25 yards. BBI 147 with 2.9gr Titegroup (132pf), and BBI 125 with 4.8gr Autocomp (129pf)
  9. There should not be, as it was stated first come first serve. I would send an email to Charles and screenshot the time entry for the match. I know 2 shooters in the TX match that signed up much later than you, well after the crash.
  10. I think that the 2 choices of barrels gets around the threaded barrel bs that is in NJ law. Both of the choices are one piece, as not to fall into the "ass-fault" weapons configurations that the state of New Germany has in place. Also, magazine restrictions are in place. Limited 10 Open?
  11. In for TX and AL.... Bet they re-do registration again.......
  12. I am at the screen...but wait.... IT WONT LET ME REGISTER BY HITTIN THE DAMN TAB
  13. That's awesome Nick!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! Rangelog needs to be fired.
