  1. image.png.a57aa88166614b6d6a84803c179b1a68.png Just saw this posted on facebook.   Is this stage legal?  Can you just makeup how you are going to apply procedural?  If you were shooting PCC what would you do?

That looks like it was designed by a limited shooter. 18 rounds while carrying something.

When your stage design process starts with "wouldn't it be cool if...", It's generally not a good idea.

  2. When pulling the trigger, gravity lowers the hammer block. It adds no additional resistance to the pull. The rebound slide does have to push the hammer block back up on reset, but I can't imagine how sluggish reset would have to be for you to notice it. I leave it in all the revolvers I work on.

  3. I bend a factory spring to look like this one from Miculek.

Be aware more and more guns are coming with the Wolff power rib spring. I don't really care for these. I prefer a Real[emoji769] tapered mainspring, they bend along their entire length instead of just at the base of the spring.

If your gun has a Wolff in it already, go ahead and buy the kit from Jerry.

  4. Thanks everyone.  Think I'll just start simple and go with regular 38 Special.  Any 38 Sp. loads for Steel you like that aren't concerned with power factors?
Try any published starting load for a powder you already have at the house.

I like a bulkier powder in the big cases. Not the cleanest, but Unique works fine and is less position sensitive.

  5. I'll be honest, I thought OP was referring to Center Axis Relock
I was gonna make a joke about that last night, but I couldn't remember the name of the damn thing.

I love the part in center axis relock where it's an advantage that your nose blocks your dominant eye. You only see one set of sights that way you know...

  6. Well, I don't think we'll see to many of them. At least not for a while. The grip is shaped differently than a 1911, I imagine there's not a lot of race parts.

The mag release is different than a government model, I looked around for a customer and find nothing.

I've not tried, but I'd be surprised if there's a mag well that works. A techwell is out, anyone try a Dawson?

  7. shouldn't rules change (or at least be reviewed) to reflect the times.  i get that uspsa (and us members) didn't want joebob in his garage making the cheatingnest gun that wouldn't be available to anyone else.  but years ago there was no such thing as buying a frame from one company and a slide from another.  now there is.
The 80% Glock frames are legal in Limited and Open if you want to use one.

  8. I shoot a 5" 627PC.

I did an action job and set my trigger pull to 6 1/4. An Apex hammer allows me to prime on the 550, with the factory hammer i needed to hand seat the primers for 100% ignition. (Federal primers)

I haven't touched the cylinder chamfer. I roll crimp my 38s. The currently fashionable taper crimp can hang up on the case mouth. The fix is a light roll crimp, not a dremel tool.

  9. Single Action on a S&W DA Revolver, they have those still?  Jeez next you'll say they still wear spurs on the hammer! [emoji1787]
Seriously I know PPC had 50 yard shots, about like a Bianchi Cup match and I never use the SA on either COF's.  But the S&W SA pulls are usually very nice.
Cocking the hammer? Are you a cowboy?

  10. If the OZ9 frame is allowed, P80 frames should be allowed too. And Nomad Defense, Shadow Systems, etc. frames.... It's all still glock based. It's not like anyone is going to have an unfair advantage.

They built a minimum of 2000 OZ9s and filed the paperwork with USPSA. There is nothing stopping anyone else from doing this, it's not a conspiracy.

  11. I've intentionally made up misses on a Virginia count stage. I've had to explain how to apply the penalties nearly every time.

We only keep it around for classifiers. Do you really think the high hit factors would change if El Presidente was scored Comstock?

  12. I know STI has made claims regarding the single stack grip being legal in singlestack division, but I've not seen anything from NROI. Until I do, there won't be any allowed at the match I'm responsible for.

I stand corrected. Troy replied at 10 pm on a Sunday. The STI Staccato has a metal frame and a plastic grip, satisfying the special requirements of Appendix D5.

  13. doubt it will pass but Troy just approved a 2011 for use in single stack, so you never know.

  14. Reminds me of the chuckles at ICORE when a USPSA-trained RO gives the ICHDH instead of If Clear, Close the Cylinder and Holster...

Not a very well trained USPSA RO, we have different commands for revolvers as well.

8.3.7 reads "“If Clear, Hammer Down, Holster” (self-loaders) or “If Clear, Cylinder Closed, Holster” (revolvers) or “If Clear, Hammer Down, Flag” (PCC)..."
