IDPA is still a thing?IMHO, as a IDPA S.O. , if I saw your muzzle on the 180, even pointed at the floor ,I would stop you imeadiately and a DQ would follow; KEEP AWAY FROM THE 180 ! AT ALL COSTS! when I do a weak hand reload w/speedloaders, I do the Gloob Shuffle while muzzle is Down Range, close cylinder, then face the 180 increasing speed to the next shooting position, while keeping the muzzle pointed, arm extended mostly straight down range, not at the floor or ground.
if you hit the 180, you've gone too far even if you don't break it. S.O.s are going to error on the side of safety. P.S. the LAST thing a S.O. wants to do is DQ. another shooter. please help them whenever you are on the firing line.

I just wipe off the worst of it with gun oil. After a period of time I'll scrape some of the crud off the frame by the forcing cone.

Likely not the real problem. More likely a double action on the draw problem. The second target is better. This seems like a lot of posting just to tell someone he’s not looking at the sights...

On the draw, is the gun firing at the moment you get to full extension? If so, you're probably firing with less than ideal sight alignment. Do you snap the trigger when practicing the draw in dry fire?
As to front sight focus, on virtually all of the shots we see in a typical match you do not need a hard front sight focus. You can aim with slightly blurry sights. Not only does this make for faster target transitions, it's a lot easier to achieve after 45.

My 929 went down on me at a match today, again. Need to decide if I want to try and find someone to repair the crane or if I want to deal with the hassles of sending a competition modified gun in for repair.
Yoke problems? Only Colts and Rugers have "cranes." [emoji6]
Do you reload weak hand? It's not uncommon to push the yoke out when reloading with the weak hand. A gunsmith can fit a solid pin to replace the spring loaded plunger in your yoke screw.

The dowel is your real problem. Once it's out, the bullet is easy.
Don't do anything rash, or you'll be buying a barrel. Drill bits are likely to wander and touch the rifling.
I don't have any good ideas off the top of my head. I've replaced customers rifle barrels because of a stuck squib rod. Think it thru before you stick anything else in there.

I'm using the 625 moons from Revolver Supply. I'm very happy with them.

Why is production the only division that causes people to get their panties in a bunch? Most people shoot in other divisions anyway, I do.
When they allowed you to use non-OEM hammers and whatnot in production division a couple years back, you would have thoughts sky was falling.

Glad to help. [emoji16]Yeah, Pat cost me some money on this thread. I ordered the C-Bax hanger as well. I love my speedbeez holster for my 929, but as mentioned couldn't use the drop adaptor as it puts the gun too far from my belt to be legal....hopefully the new hanger will fix that and I can get the gun down where it belongs.
Anyone else need to relieve the top edge of the trigger cover on this holster for finger clearance?

Yeah, I wouldn't shoot those. You don't really want want to bulge a chamber.

Nah. I could use to lose a few pounds, but my muffin top isn't _that_ big.
OUCHIES!! That looks like it would be painful to fall on!

Same, but I got 2 of the taller posts to use for empty table starts. I replaced the center posts with longer ones with a pointier tip that allows me to quickly put on 2 stacked moons at the same time.Moon clip server with 2 single post North Mountain.

Might have been better to set the targets lower with a lower fence. It's legal to cut the bottoms off the targets if you restore the non scoring border. This can be as easy as a strip of hardcover and it will keep shots off the target standLet's not bring grandma into this discussion...
The fence was high(ish), but nothing too bad. It looks like the intent was to force hosing from very close distance, followed by a pretty long shot on a mini-popper for those who didn't engage it from another location (a slightly slower, but safer strategy for the mini-popper).

I'm using one of these:With the Speed Beez holster, do you mount it to the holster attachment directly? Or can you use the drop offset legally in USPSA.

I do like it better than the flat plate style hangars I've used in the past.

Pickett fence with another piece of plywood attached to the top of it.OP said Pickett fence. Pickett fence is not nipple height unless one has really low nipples.
I guess I would have to see this Pickett fence. I figured it was 3 feet tall or so.

I am 5 foot 9 and a half adult male. The barrier in question nearly came up to my nipples. Seemed a bit unnecessarily high to me.

I got to shoot the standards stage thru bags ...
Funny thing is, I went to Raahauge's today and shot them again and did much better.

Good time today, right up until we got to 2. The shoot house was bad, hope it's better in the morning. We shot maybe 3 guys on the squad before they called it. The shooting area had a lot of mulch put down, but resetting required walking thru ankle deep mud. The mud was bad everywhere down at the bottom of the hill, I left some points on the table for you guys on stage 1.

That's not required. I just hold the slide to the rear.
Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk -
Note: I usually have the magazine removed as well, when I slide lock (like what would be done in a match).
Why would you need to manually lock the slide back at a match?

The photos don't zoom on mobile, but the internal parts don't really touch most of the frame cavity. Scrub it with 0000 steel wool and oil. It won't remove any staining, but it will remove active rust if present.

I use the Magnatip 44 bit professional set at work. I've also purchased all the Torx and metric hex bits as well. It's a very convenient set, and I use it far more than my traditional screwdrivers.
