  1. This works great. Also I had a little trouble with a sig doing the same thing. It smoothed out in short order. Make sure that your elbow is correct.
  2. Comp tac for my STI and Sig and MP and glock
  3. I have a Trojan 5.0 38 Sup. Comp tac all the way.
  4. X2 It is a basic test of skills. It's not meant to mimic a match. As far as the "distance" goes your only out at 20 for part of stage three everything else I would consider very close. As far as people not shooting to their normal potential....some people shoot classifiers well and are bad during matches and the opposite holds true for some. It's basically a standard.
  5. Gravity is always constant. The trajectory path will vary depending on the angle of the axis of the bore. Gravity does stay constant. I agree. But the effect of gravity will vary depending on the angle of axis of bore. You are correct the gravitational "force" will not vary, but will not the rate of the bullet drop vary?
  6. Dillon 550. When they say there is a no BS garuntee they mean it. Best press out at a reasonable price IMHO
  7. Thanks for all the info. I just got the slide glide in.
  8. As soon as a bullet leaves the support of the barrel it has a downward gravitational force on it, regardless of trajectory. Depending on the slant of the barrel the gravitational force will vary. With the highest force being when the barrel is flat the least when the barrel is angled up, but none the less it has a pull down.
  9. I do watch all the shooters I can for all the reasons mentioned above. I also take pointers when they are given. I'm always trying to learn. However, I have found that you have to listen and watch....meaning someone may talk a good talk but shoot poorly or visa versa. So I just try to keep open to new stuff and then decide what I want to use and what I want to throw away. To not watch or listen is to not learn, when your "done learning" your done growing as a shooter. I don't want that to happen to me.
  10. What is the best lube to use on a 1911 slide?
  11. I have McCormicks and some metal form but mostly McCormicks.
  12. The people complaining said "what about new people"....well I'm new and don't know all the rules, but looks like fun to me. In fact, as a new shooter I might take offense to their comment. Because I'm "new" does that mean I can't negotiate a hardcover strip? Everybody has to shoot the same target...right?...just deal with it.
  13. I have a bunch of SS mags for my 38 Sup, but I bought them all without base plates. Now I want base plates. Am I better off buying more mags with base plates already attached or should I just add base plates to the mags I already have, and if so what are peoples opinions on which ones are best. I don't know if there are pros and cons to the add on plates versus factory installed. .... I know, newb question.....
  14. Just wanted to say hello. I've found this forum to be full of helpful info. already. I started out in IDPA and steel and am also getting involved in USPSA this shooting season. Shoots up here are not always easy to find, I have to travel a little to get to some matches but it's worth the trip.
  15. Thank you very much for all the info, I appreciate it. Right now I am shooting an STI Trojan 38 sup in IDPA ESP. And I'm trying to figure out where and how I would fit into USPSA. So I'm trying to figure out if I should try to use the gun I have for both things or should I buy another gun specifically for USPSA.
  16. What do most shooters use in single stack? .45...38Sup...? Do most shoot major or minor?
