Lean (See also Continuous Improvement, Toyota Production System)
Operational Excellence
Both refer to a system (strategy, systems, tools, thinking) of maximizing customer value while eliminating waste in a never ending pursuit.
Very engaging and enjoyable work that always has you learning from - yet helping others improve their processes.
O_o Pretty tired of lean. Just sayin...

Wonder if Stoeger is going to debut something sexy at SHOT show. Especially since I have my M3K just how I like it...

I watch fairly regularly. As for influencing my gear selection, it's not even a consideration. Those guys are pros, shooting a course designed for pros to go fast. Actually, my main consideration for gear selection is my wallet, followed closely by what works in my area.

Damn, I thought I had seen all episodes. I just don't remember her being kidnapped

For some reason, I cannot remember Beth. Someone please fill me in a little.

Those low recoil Fiocchi won't run 100% in my gun.
Same here, Fiocchi in a no go in mine. Remington Sluggers from WalMart at 1550 fps work well with my LM choke.

Stuff that I use every other week or more gets piled up behind the sofa. Stuff that I use less frequently gets piled into the closet, reasonably close to some Target-brand plastic bins.
Why, no, I'm not married.
Me either and same system

I had a weird issue while practicing this past weekend. Hope someone can give me some insight.
We set up a small stage where we shot a slug (Fiochii low recoil) at paper then 6 birdshot(Rem STS Low recoil).
After the slug the bolt would cycle, a live round chambered, but the trigger would be dead. I would have to rack, ejecting the live round to get everything reset. I can not recall if there was also a live round on the gate or if i was having to hit the button to drop one. At least one of the times I did hear the bolt "lock" after i pulled the trigger, but the trigger was still dead when i tried again. By the time this problem started happening I had roughly 200 problem free rounds of the STS and at least 10 slugs.
From what I recall with the Bennelli guys it happens when they out run the trigger. I really doubt that was my problem because I could dump a tube of Nitro's as fast as i could pull the trigger right after the problem happened.
Try some Remington Slugger rounds first. My M300 doesn't like Fiochii slugs one little bit.

Another question, whats the general technique for putting the shotgun back on safe before dumping it?
do you just use your thumb? or bring your trigger finger around?
Whichever technique you practice and can perform every time.

I'm thinking of dabbling into this again. So, among other things, I'll need a shooting coat. What I need to know, if anyone can help, is how they are sized. Would a 48 be like a sports coat 48? I know it's a dumb question, but still vexing for a guy that hasn't worn a suit in 10 years, and buys clothes with letters for sizing. Also, any good sources? Used to be Champions Choice carried coats. Anywhere else? Last one I had was issued, and 100% leather.
Thanks!

I have to say after trying different comp I use the Miculek Comp. It is just as good as the others for a fraction of the price. Plus you can try to modify it yourself for that price as well.
+1. Because it works.

A budget is the only plausible reason.
This, and because of this, I thank and applaud Jesse and Patrick Kelley for point shooters like me to the Stoeger M3000. As well as the smiths and businesses that support the less than gold standard guns.

Picked up some ESS glasses of a prize table. My son loves them, but I wear prescription glasses. I'm using very dark Oakley half jackets. They work well when shooting prone for me.

Mr. Kelley, I was joking.

Nothing like a round of sporting clays to humble me. That noise you may have heard today was not a damaged low flying jet, it was me sucking. 43. Yep, did not even hit half of them. I need to get out more. I represented our sport poorly and feel great shame for allowing so many birds to fall to the ground in damaged. I will do better next time.
That's because you used a top fuel dragster in a sport designed fo horse and buggy. Load her up and let the big dog eat! Two shells at a time....harrrumph!
p.s. I suck at sporting clays, but it is a lot of fun!

Whatever you get, shoot a couple of boxes before you go to your match. Just sayin'

Thanks, makes sense to me. But you had me at the possibility of becoming better looking!

Question for Mr. Kurt. My 16" barrel is shooting sub MOA at 100 yards, with good ammo. It's 16 inches because functionally its just a plain Stag carbine. What are the advantages of getting an 18 or even 20 inch barrel? I'm thinking the extra velocity would be nice, but honestly, it wouldn't make me a better shooter.
-
Dang, now I gotta go to all those matches to find out if I wanna go again. Life is hard....
-
So, when guns are used as the designers intended, all is well. Otherwise not so good.
Nowhere is this as evident with the 1100s and the 930s which have no method of self regulation for load variation. Add shell surge and stamped metal parts getting hit much harder than intended...recipe for failure. Moving a one pound plus stack of cylinders in a tube with a light spring and then having them make a U turn reliably...not exactly the best plan from an engineering perspective.
Donning my Nomex suit (yes, I really have one)
So true. I loved the way my JM Pro ran birdshot, but throw in slugs or buck, it was done for the day.
-
You will need pleased with your 26" barrel. Here's How It looks with a +6.I have shot the gun for a half a dozen practices I just haven't used it in a match yet
-
If you had the choice 24, 26 or 28" and why?
The 26" with a +6 Nordic tube is asthetically pleasing. Otherwise, IMO, barrel length doesn't matter, except longer is heavier.
