  1. Have you tried shooting rifle and shotgun left handed? What I mean is you should try shouldering the weapons on your left shoulder and seeing if you get a better sight picture before you do anything else.
  2. No shit? Hell i might have to look at more of the guys stuff.
  3. I am cross dominant, as in Right handed and Left eye dominant. I just run rifle and shotgun left handed and pistol right.
  4. I would need a vise to hold it along with a torque wrench for the barrel nut, along with a place to work, all that alone cost more than 80 bucks. Besides it's already done and back from adco and they did a wonderful job.
  5. UPDATE: Talked to a couple of guys near me they either recommended the local shop or ADCO. So I just got it back from adco they do great work, total turn around time from them receiving it was 3 days! During thanksgiving too! Any way looks great and I will be posting a range update as soon as I can get out. Also got a great deal on a burris TAC 30 so that will be riding on it for now. http://imgur.com/a/rWRjN Pics minus the optics
  6. Any Gas block would be sufficient to prevent the end plate from moving. Here are a couple pictures To show you what I'm talking about. The delta ring http://imgur.com/GgfSn The gas block and end plate http://imgur.com/wK9RB Also the MOE hand guard has plenty of space under it for a low profile gas block
  7. The only way to get the MOE on there is to remove the current barrel nut and install a delta ring and stock nut along with the endplate and something to hold it on like a A frame fsp.
  8. It is called a brass DEFLECTOR for a reason.
  9. looks like that ones already sold, but while I'm here as far as Red dots go is the H-1 150 dollars better than the PRO? I figured this was better than starting up a new thread.
  10. If you want to mount the moe you will need a delta ring hanguard setup eg. The spring and ring at the receiver and an end plate at the gas block like here. http://stickman.rainierarms.com/galleries/Projects/DD%20Rail/IMG_4404%201028%20WEVO%20Stick.jpg The YHM uses a proprietary barrel nut which will HAVE to be changed for most if not all other handguards. Do you really want a MOE or are you just wanting a smooth handguard?
  11. Does it use the delta ring system to hold the handguard? The Moe is not free floating. It is held on by the end plate behind the gas block. I will need a little more info to help pictures would be even better.
  12. Yeah after doing some pricing I am definitely going to go with the ap customs tube even if I do send it off to adco for work I'll still save about 200 dollars. Thanks alot for the second opinion it has helped.
  13. I did look into my local area. The only gunsmith I can find is an ass and I refuse to give him my business. I will ask around at the next uspsa match to see if someone knows of anybody else. I after thinking about it I think I'm going to drop the Iron sight idea, go with th ap customs and use the extra money on a red dot.
  14. Actually my biggest problem right now is the hand guard not recoil. I am a lanky individual and have burned my self before on the gas block when re-positioning during a stage mainly when standing up from prone. I would like to have a longer handgaurd the comp install was because I figured since I was already sending it to them why not.
  15. This is not intended to be a precision rifle. Strictly close in small matches not really planning to stretch it past 100 maybe 150 max. Like I said planing on picking up another for longer range matches. It has a 16 in m4 contour barrel. I will keep looking at other options I don't have a useful range right now so I'm in no rush.
  16. The matches In my local area have only 200 yard max ranges. This is going to be just for short range anyway. Will it have that dramatic of an effect within 100-200? I already planned on picking up the stag 3g next year this was just for now and as a project.
  17. Well in reality I am looking for a longer hanguard and the current gas block is to low for most Front sights so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone?
  18. I saw those but I don't think there is a way to mount a Front sight.
  19. Alright I'm currently using a stag arms 3hl upper with the plus package on a home built lower. I am currently looking at sending the upper off to ADCO to get the following parts installed. AR-15 Miculek Comp Troy Industries Low Profile Gas Block LCH5 Rifle Length , cooling slots, 2" front sight rail Total cost 408 minus the shipping to ADCO. I do not have the tools or the space to do the work myself. Does this sound like a good idea for a super light build? Or should I just sell this and buy a whole new upper? Really just looking for alternatives and second opinions.
  20. Unfortunately I do not have the tools nor the room in my current living arrangement to build the upper myself. A small garage that I can't use in the winter and an apartment means no workshop for me.
  21. Alright my plan so far is to pick up either a Geissele single stage trigger for my current gun then later on replace my current upper with a Stag 3GHL.
  22. I am new to multigun and I am looking to improve my rifle for competion and have come to an impass. Should I just get a new trigger and extended handgaurd for my curent rifle or should I splurge on a rifle built for competion like a loki or stag. etc. etc? I realise the best way to get better is to shoot but the stock trigger at this point is holding me back so I need to do something. My curent rifle is a Stag 3hl upper on a dpms lower assembled by me.
  23. Well I meant the Semi-Auto variant obviously. But whats this about 170mm? Thought mag size didn't matter for Rifles? Also those RPD replicas are supposed to be pretty damn accurate what with the heavy barrel and buffed up receiver. I think it would be fun just to bring one with me to the range just to see the look on everyones face when you unload that thing from the back seat.
