Start asking around when your shooting the breeze and find out who shoots 3gun. Strike up a conversation and friendship with those guys for sure. They can help you transition into 3gun. Let you borrow equipment, or possibly a shotgun. That way you can try different setups before you spend money on stuff that you change a few matches down the road. Congrats on the good stage. I found that just going out and shooting you will get more comfortable and you will worry less about the DQ stuff as it will become second nature to do it the right way.

Everyone has given you great advice. Just keep shooting. You will figure out where you want to be. I started shooting 3gun but shoot USPSA as well now. I started shooting single stack, and L10. Now almost a year later I'm building up a XDM 5.25 to shoot limited.

Well we look forward to having another shooter join us. We are losing a few to ets/pcs moves. Plan on Seward for memorial weekend. They have already started planning a huge 2 day match. It had a great turn out last year with a great prize table and looks to be even better this year.

I have tested the same load as R-Bros_JLR with pretty good results. I would work up a new load if your groups are opened up like that. My buddy has the same gun and it opens up to 2.5" with the loads that mine will shoot 1.5" some guns are just that way.

I had a major overhaul on mine and I was back shooting a little over a year after. But mine was more than a RC. Follow the doc and your physical therapist and you will be shooting before you know it.
