If my sources are correct, the "Sportsman" model should be available in time for Christmas. With a 26" barrel and black synthetic stocks that leave off the overmolding, cast, riser, etc. it is supposed to be at a street price in the $750 range. So for about $1000 if you do your own mods, you can have the best system on the market for about the same street price as the competitors.

Was just on Buds they now have a Versa Max Sportsman for sale for 782.00. It is the 28" but states the Sportsman comes in 22", 26", and the 28" Thats a pretty good price.

I was in the same boat at the first of the year. Bought an LMT and shopped around for an optic decided on the Burris Tac 30 and I love it. Has served me very well so far. You cant beat the price. The only thing I need is a better mount for it.

Yes I seen the green zombie model. I just wouldn't want to give the guys I shoot with anymore reasons to make fun of me. Watching me shoot is normally enough!!

At almost 500-600 dollars more than the JM Pro is the Versa Max Tactical really worth that extra money? If so why? I would love to hear from some of the guys that have shot both.

We usually have several of them in stock all the time at Turners Outdoorsman in So California. At least we did about a hour ago when I closed up.

What is the cost of having the lifter welded and the loading port opened up? Just a ballpark figure would be nice. Would this be all you would have to do to the VM Tactical to be ready to run and gun?

Speaking of Zombies! Anybody seen the new trailer for the movie World War Z with Brad Pitt. Those zombies seen to be on steriods! Can't wait for that one! If you haven't seen it You Tube it and tell me what you think.

Considering I have no 3 Gun shotgun at this point this may be an option. I dont mind waiting for one but I would really like to know how long that wait is going to be. I could'nt even get that answer from Mossberg. Very new to the sport so my plan was to buy one before winter so I could spend my time indoors practicing reloading.

Are they still making this shotgun??? I have searched just about every online store plus called about every gun shop in the state of Kentucky plus Southwestern Ohio with zero luck. If anyone knows of where I can find one please let me know. Money is burning a hole in my pocket. The Versa Max Tactical even at almost double the cost is looking better and better!! Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the kind words guys and offering the use of equipment. Did a practice run tonight with my pmags and SG shells in my pockets............WOW had a hard time keeping my pants up! You guys dont want to see that remember "crack kills"! I am going to run up to Bass Pro and just pick up a SG shell bag it has to be better than my front pockets. Looking like an idiot isn't so bad (ask my wife I seem to excel at that) I just want to avoid total idiot status. The nerves will be there thats just my nature I just want to avoid any DQ's. As far as equipment I know the 870 isn't the ideal situation but for now I will have to live with it. I have bought my LMT, and 2 XDM's in the past 8 weeks plus my Burris Tac30. So the shotgun will have to wait for awhile. I do have my eye on a FNH SLP MK 1 but i don't dare bring the subject up with the wife right now. I do look forward to talking with guys and looking at what belts, rigs, SG shell caddys others are running. I didn't just want to order a bunch of stuff without doing the hands on research. I plan on getting down there around 8-8:15 so I look forward to meeting you guys. Lead-Head I would love to shoot with you guys. I can make fun of myself I am pretty good at that. I grew up shooting trap and have been out of shooting for a long time. Can't wait.

I am planning on shooting in this BGSL 3 Gun. I am a new shooter with a couple of questions for the guys who have shot here before ( or any match ). My equipment right now is XDM 5.25 9mm, I have 3 magazines all 19 rounds. Will I need more than 3? I will be using the holster that came with the XDM along with the mag holder ( I do have another mag holder that came with my XDM 40 ). Is this set-up okay to use?? I do not have a belt system set-up yet I was going to shoot a couple of 3 guns to see what I really need. Can I use my back pockets for my extra Pmags for rifle? Can I use my front pockets for extra shotgun shells? Any advice on a cheap route for shotgun shells? Would a shell bag be better than pockets? Any advice I would appreciate. As far as my rifle goes I am happy with the setup. I have a LMT with Burris Tac 30. Now shotgun not so good. I will have to use for now my 870. I was going to add the mag. extension but I did not want to alter the tube. Yes it has the dimples. I do look forward to coming down and I have to say I'm pretty nervous about it. I was coming with 2 other friends but they have bailed on me. So I will be coming solo. My main goal is to not look like a complete idiot!

Good news just bought the XDM 5.25 in 9mm tonight. Picked it up for 660. I do believe it was a hell of a deal. That's the story I told the wife!!!!!! I do appreciate all the advice. I do like having a carry gun and a competition gun.

Thanks for the info. I do believe my best option is to get a competition pistol. I do love my XDM and I think im just going to pick up a XDM 5.25. I have been looking at prices around my area and it seems there aren't a lot of 5.25's in stock. The hunt continues...........

Hello All. Im new to the 3 gun matches and slowly getting my equipment for 3 gun competition. I was wondering what kind of belt set-up you guys use. I am looking for holster type, mag holders, shotshell caddys etc. etc. Is there a brand out there that covers all of my needs? I have the holster that came with my XDM is this something I could use? How many extra mags should you carry for pistol and AR and how many shotgun shells do you guys carry during competition. Any info would be great.

Never really thought about it that way but your right I think I will leave my carry gun alone. I will just use it as is for now until I can get a comp. gun. Thanks for the reply. Man this 3 gun stuff gets expensive!!!! I thought golf was bad!!!

T Bacus your making it hard to wait for that JM Pro. Almost bought the VMT yesterday but just couldn't pull that trigger yet. Still hoping a new 24" JM Pro pops up somewhere.
