  1. Any repairs around the house I now attempt myself first. It's amazing what you can learn from a you tube video. Last week replaced the brake pads front and back plus rotors on my car. Just watched the how to video on you tube and saved a ton of cash. Next project to replace the torsion springs on my garage door that broke last week. Called repair man the quote was about 300 to replace both springs. I bought the springs for 27 dollars a piece. Watched the you tube video on how to replace and going to tear into that this weekend.

Please be careful. Replacing them is a good way to get your skull cracked wide open.

Yes I will. May wear the boy's football helmet. Last resort my wife has the medics on stand-by! LOL

  3. Ok so I'm having trouble with the NC follower and the stock mossberg. The jam is happening in the tube attached to the gun. Basically where the threads are to attach the extension (sorry if that's not the proper verbiage). The new NC slides thru the tube extension fine as does the stock. Both seam to hang in the same spot but the NC is a little tougher to pass. I have the barrel clamp and tube extension off and the NC just seams to get stuck in the first inch of the stock tube with a little push it will pass and then slide the rest of the way down and then it needs a little help to remove. The stock follower does the same but not as bad. Could the stock tube be bent a little? Any ideas on a fix??? Thanks for any input.

  4. I worked with both weak hand and strong hand (load two) for several hours last night. Weak hand just couldn't get my time below 10 seconds, strong hand I was consistently around 6 seconds. So being a newbie to this sport what is the advantage of weak hand? Is it getting back on target quicker? For the guys who have competed in many 3 Gun: would there be a situation where a certain stage would dictate which load method would be quicker? I'm sure that with more practice I could improve the load two weak hand just trying to figure out what the point would be.

  5. I was at Palmetto State Armory's Ridgeland, SC store a few days ago and they had one, and for well under $600 too. I'm not sure if their retail stores will ship firearms, but it may be worth giving them a call. Number is 843-379-4867.

Call this number quick and hope they will ship! I searched for 6 weeks and finally got lucky. I found one in a gun shop in Holliston, MA the guy shipped it for me and should be here today. Every on-line retailer is out of stock been that way since middle of Oct. The best chance you have is to find one already sitting in the rack at a store. I did sign up for every online retailer to notify me if they get one in if I hear from any or get any other leads I will let you know.

  6. On any shotgun, you need to open up the loading port as MUCH as possible and under cut the front to funnel the second shell down into the tube.

Thanks Benny, I undercut my port and suddenly Load 2 works nearly every time. There's a significant ridge on either side of the magazine that is hell on thumbs as well, I removed that and undercut about half of the thickness.

Anyway you could post some pics of your work??

  7. Greg dont get me wrong I was very nervous and felt very out of place. I quickly found out that this sport is full of good people very willing to help you out. I had several people in my squad offer their shell caddie's etc etc. I had avoided several matches because I felt I wasn't ready and didn't have the right equipment but after shooting that first one I wish I had started sooner. The best advice I can give is get out there and shoot a match. You will find thats the only way to see the equipment in action. You will find a great group of people willing to help you out. Its the only way to really find out what you need plus its a rush you won't forget. The first time that shot timer went off was awesome!

  8. I'm in the same boat. After a month of looking I just found a Mossberg JM Pro it will be here today. I looked at all the shotguns but shooting on a budget that was the best choice for me. With the extra money I saved I ordered a Nordic XL cap, Briley extended LM choke and a Chameleon Load two Belt and I'm going to send the lifter to C-Rums.

The rest of my needs are pistol and rifle related. I want a new trigger for my AR. I am going to send my XDM 5.25 out for a trigger job, new front sight. After this is done I'm going to get some kind of belt system probably the ELS set-up. Right now I'm ok with running with the XDM gear and sticking AR mags in my back pocket. Hell last match I shot my buddy's shotgun and reloaded shells out of my front pockets.

There are other things I want but after shooting and practicing this year I felt the changes to the rifle and pistol could help me the most. Now that I finally have all 3 guns I plan on getting out and shooting more matches. That way I can see what other equipment people are running and see what would be best for me.

  9. I Just show up and walk/range stages early. Write ranges in match book, and then refer to the when I get to the stage. Usually not required on all stages. RF area huge help at some of the open terrain matches.

Just to be curious what other notes do you take and keep in your match book. Use to play a lot of golf before I found this wonderful new hobby and I always kept a pad and made notes of course layouts, bunkers, water etc etc and found it helpful. I would like to know what observations you are making. I tend to have a good plan in my head but when that timer goes off something strange happens to me.
