Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Can't count how many times I just wanted to cancel this trip to shoot Nationals. Feel like a second class citizen by the way everything up to this point has been handled. Pay more because I did not win, told three different things in 24hrs by "Official website" IM with office, and email. Almost all of it partly wrong. It doesn't matter what else is going on in the shooting sports this is USPSA's top of the year event to be run by the President. What a joke this has become! Is it any wonder why people are leaving? This would have to be the best match of my life for me to ever think of going through this again. Yesterday after months of silence USPSA blew up Facebook with all of the sponsors, did they just sign on Sunday night? Every year for decades there has been a Nationals, why is it so messed up this year. Very disappointed with USPSA.
  2. Shot Area 5 this past weekend. Just an amazing match, great test of shooting skills. Stage design focused more on skill than on tricks to trap the shooter. The entire match was very well planned out and run. Thank You to everyone that made it possible. I look forward to next year.
  3. If the reason was industry cutbacks then we should have been told instead of hyping it up. These non-existent demos and side matches are STILL shown on the map in the match books which you can download. I could "meet and test products from some of the over sixty firearms related sponsors of the match." according to the Rockcastle Facebook page 2 days before registration, an official information outlet for this match. Nobody ever told us this stuff was not going to happen, even at sign-in. I had to drive around and figure it out on my own. I would rather have been told that this year would be different so I could make an informed decision. Like it was said the web site still is full of hype that Rockcastle knew was not going to be there. Looks more like bait and switch than hones mistakes. Whatever the reason for the MD and Staff change, just level with the shooters. Up until the match I was disappointed that I could not get the time off of work. Now I'm damn happy I stayed home. Pro Am has always been "THE" match to shoot for the year. Its not just another match, it is an event that made everyone that attended feel like part of the shooting family. Instead of that weirdo that loves guns. The ball wasn't just dropped, trust was lost. If we had heard that this year was going to be a transitional year, people could have made a choice. Instead there is a feeling of betrayal and mistrust. Its going to take a lot of work to get shooters and sponsors to show up next year. Good Luck to everyone! Honestly hope Rockcastle can recover from this.
  4. This was posted back in June. Don't know if it has changed USPSA - Announcements Handgun Nationals Information Some information for those shooting Handgun Nationals: The match will be shot in a ½ day format over three days (AM, PM, AM or PM, AM, PM) in 36 squads of 12. Round count is approximately 465.
  5. This is posted on the Self Squadding page as of last night. NOTICE: Squadding is open for Earned Slots ONLY at this time. Squadding for Wait List slots will open Aug 7th, 2015. If you don't see your name listed and you received a slot from the wait list, please DO NOT contact the office. Your name will appear on the list starting Aug 7th, 2015. This was in todays email from USPSA (Aug 7th) Self-squadding for the 2015 Handgun Nationals will open at noon PDT on Thursday, Aug. 6. Only the members who were awarded and turned in a slot application will be able to squad. For Members who have paid their $285 on the waitlist, slots have been mailed out this week and they will be able to squad once we receive their slot and get you registered. No wonder why we do not know what is going on? Of the four running for President did any of them say they would improve communication with the lowly average shooter?
  6. For the last two days. Sometimes makes it seem like shooting major matches are not worth the trouble I go through to sign up
  7. Notices NOTICE: Squadding is open for Earned Slots ONLY at this time. Squadding for Wait List slots will open Aug 7th, 2015. If you don't see your name listed and you received a slot from the wait list, please DO NOT contact the office. Your name will appear on the list starting Aug 7th, 2015. If you received an earned slot and do not show on this list, please contact us at slots@uspsa.org and we'll look into it and get back to you. You can find the squad schedules here. Competitors will compete on either an AM-PM-AM or PM-AM-PM schedule. Squads 1 -18 are AM/PM/AM and squads 19-36 are PM/AM/PM. As you can imagine, the office is quite busy fielding calls and email, so we thank you for your cooperation during this very busy time! Would have been great to know ANY of this yesterday, or any time before the system went live today. Second class shooters because we did not earn a slot. Pay more and get treated like dirt. Can't imagine why shooters are leaving USPSA Does anyone have an idea what time the waitlist spots will be posted. Or do I need to keep hitting refresh every 3 seconds like a squirrel on crack?
  8. What gets me is this is not the first Nationals. By this time policy should be in place, and they know what to expect. The rank and file have 24 hours to pay the $10.00 and three days to pay the match fee. While USPSA abide to almost no time constraints. Is it really a wonder why so many people now shoot 3Gun and other games, that do more about the rank and file shooters? I am trying to stay positive and maintain enthusiasm to shoot Nationals. Kind of difficult when USPSA treats you like this. So after all of my bitching and impatience it seems everything is falling into place. Less than a week till squadding opens about two months out till first shot. Kind of feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, just need to place trust in USPSA staff to get us all there. See you at the range.
  9. Just got my email less than one hour ago. Slot offered, bought and paid for. See all of you in Florida in October.

  11. More than a week since the waitlist sign up and no word on slots. Is it just me or does the lack of communication from USPSA get to anyone else?
  12. Felt great lastnight that I got the 2nd spot for Limited. Looking at this post, starting to think there may only be 60-80 people shooting this year.
  13. Just read this post/ thread whatever it's called, wanted to say thanks. Been shooting USPSA off and on for the last 15 years, never been hard core. Just something different to do. Shot Area matches, Nationals a few years ago and plan to go again this year. Took a few years to set up for 3Gun, thank God for Stoeger M3000 or I would still be shopping for a shotgun. The stuff you bring for matches is down right annoying. USPSA is like a women going out with a little black purse. 3Gun is like taking a family of 5 to the beach for a week. Got old quick and I just see a pile of money sitting there going to waste. If I could only find a sherpa! This year not one 3Gun match and only one USPSA match. Reading what everyone wrote took some of the guilt away. We do this because it is fun and for enjoyment. I find its the local "pros" make matches a chore. Shooting off their mouth better than their guns. That is why I shy away, trying to get back out there because for the most part it is rewarding to see how well I can shoot. Thank you to all of the open honest replies.
  14. Been running 200 grain moly's out of my 35 with a KKM barrel for the past few years between 170-185 pf, not one issue. Nothing with the brass or gun. Get it where you want the PF and run the hell out of it.
  15. Or there are mirrors that mount right to your glasses that might mount perfectly to the edge of the case feeder too. http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1031112_-1___000000
