  1. $1200 to $1400 depending on the retailer in Canada.
  2. Is K100 Mk7 on the USPSA Production list tho? I see only Mk6 K100 there, I'm sure people won't mind at a club-level match, but wouldn't that be an issue at the area-level and up?
  3. I don't know which generation of K100 CAI is importing, but you may want to check the USPSA Production guns list before you go to the match with you K100. I'm very tempted to buy X-Calibur (thankfully the Canadian GP distributor is about 15 minutes away from me) when it comes over here, but I'm keeping my STI GP6-C until I see X-Calibur on the USPSA list as I shoot more matches in US than in Canada. PS. I've recently sold my tuned Shadow and will be shooting GP6/X-Calibur next season. The DA pull on GP is a bit different and will take some time getting used to, but at my mediocre level I'm getting tighter groups on target with GP6.
  4. 6.5mm is the correct height, this is the sight I use on my kadet: https://czcustom.com/CZ-Fiber-Optic-Front-Sight-6.5mm-0.100-with-1.0mm-FibreRod.aspx now. I do like the 1.0 FO rod on it but you may want to go for a thicker one.
  5. Well, I went thru two Kadet kits before buying the full Kadet pistol and even that is not very close to the Shadow I shoot in Production. I've had some fine-tuning done on my SP-01 Shadow (by CeeZer) to bring the DA pull to 5.25# and SA is about 3#. With that hammer spring I would get 70%-80% failure to ignite on the Kadet kits. And as I have thin aluminum grips on my Shadow which need to be loctited not to fall all, changing the hammer spring each time I wanted to shoot .22LR wasn't an option. With the softer hammer spring on the Kadet pistol I still sometimes (about 5%) get failures to ignite with the DA pull over 7# and SA (as far as I remember) about 5#. They do feel like totally different guns even with just 2# difference in the trigger pull, so considering the cost of the Kadet kits/guns you'd be better off just spending that money on 9mm ammo and training with that.
  6. Yeah, I know, but like I said I called Blade-Tech and I was told their GP6 holster will not work for GP6C due to the taller sight.
  7. I've read somewhere that if you squint/close your weak eye you lose 20% or 30% of your eyesight in your strong eye.
  8. When I started shooting about a year ago I went thru a few boxes of different power contacts to try to figure out how I can suppress the "double vision" with both eyes open. I have -2.5 on both eyes, and I've tried wearing contact on right eye only, experimenting with the power of the contacts on the left eye and what I found works best *for me* is: 1. Do not wear contacts. Maybe it's just my eyes are too dry or having the correction closer to the eye is unnatural, but I do get better results with the regular RX glasses or the RX insert in my shooting glasses. 2. FO front and *blacked out* rear help ALOT! I did have a problem focusing on the front sight quickly with the corrected vision but since I've switched to a FO front and blacked out rear it's so much easier. Also play with the different color of FO rods: my instructor finds it easier to pick green and as much as I've tried and shot his gun I still prefer the red FO rod in mine. 3. I still squint the left eye for the first shot and then I can open my left eye and keep the solid focus on the front sight with both eyes open. Of course YMMV, but if you're running out of things to try you can try these, maybe obvious suggestions. PS. I will actually try to put a small piece of tape on the left lens as described by Jerome. I've tried blocking it completely with the semi-transparent tape, but found it to be the same as the left eye closed.
  9. Tight slide to frame fit, competition hammer, slim safeties, maple leaf slim aluminum grips, trigger is supposedly smoother but I didn't have a chance to try. I think it has a 1mm FO front sight (instead of 1.25 on a standard shadow) and can't recall if there were FO rods in the rear sight.
  10. Thank you for your prompt reply. I've noticed that DP page with the M&P + GP6 holster too. I can assure you however that my one month old M&P Pro blade-tech holster can in no way fit the GP6C I just got. It doesn't even seem to be an issue with the taller front sight, the whole slide looks beefier (and btw, my bad about trigger guard width -- it's about the same on M&P and GP6; I was confused by the different fitment of the trigger lock on these guns). I might try my luck with the GP6-specific #557053 holster from DP, but I just called Blade-Tech and after about 15 minutes of being on hold I was told that their GP6 holster will not fit the GP6C.
  11. Two questions on that: 1. My GP6C doesn't seem to fit in the M&P Pro 9 holster at all. Not sure how could it, given that the GP6's trigger guard is quite a bit wider. Have you tried yourself or did you hear somewhere that GP6 fits M&P holster? 2. Do you think that the Blade-tech you've got will fit the GP6C (taller sights)? Will it fit 5" GP6C? Thanks!
  12. That's weird, I've got a used (about 300 rounds) M&P Pro 9 a few months back, one made in the beginning of 2012 and I have the opposite experience -- slight "click" (well, maybe not a loud click, but definitely not a smooth pull before you feel the resistance) with the stock Pro sear but once I've installed APEX hard sear that click is totally gone. Except for pre-travel it is very much like my buddy's Kimber.
  13. Thank you BE! I can confirm there're no more warnings from google here too. Thanks for requesting rescan so quickly (and, well, updating forums first). Was that a security issue with the previous version of the forum software? I thought IP.Board was the better one of those.
  14. Not sure what you're referring to, but even after the upgrade, el-goog thinks your server might contain malware. I believe the re-evaluation of that can be requested thru the webmaster tools at the link I've posted above. PS. cookies/cache have nothing to do with it, it happens before I can actually load the web-site content in the browser.
  15. Hello, Google Chrome (version 23, Mac) is blocking access to the web-site saying "malware ahead". Here's the link to the details: http://goo.gl/Lh2Gg. As noted in the other threads the site is a bit slow for me too. The reason google is blocking the site could be the malicious/spam content which was published and deleted earlier. Might be a good idea to have a shooting-specific question when registering that not many people outside the sport would know.
  16. AFAIK M&P22 doesn't have customizable backstraps which might be discouraging for some.
  17. Yeah, given how easy it is to flip the mag release I was thinking of doing the same. Have you had any issue at the matches as your index finger keeps lingering close to trigger if you reverse the mag release?
  18. So I've received my transfer notification for the GP6-C, but it does say just GP6 on the paper. That was a bit surprising because from what I've seen on the photos, the engraving/etching on the slide actually reads GP6-C. I'm about to send my updated application to ATF and I will put GP6 there exactly as it says on the canadian registration certificate, but I'm wondering if anyone else with the GP6-C and the ATF permit ever had an issue at the border? PS. I'm posting here because I know many canadians shoot in USPSA and I'm more likely to find them here than on any other, even canadian, forum.
  19. Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to fatten the front with the grip tape.
  20. I should update my location -- I'm in Canada. Snatched the last one from Freedom Ventures and bought a 5" barrel for it as well.
  21. Damn, we could have traded. I switched TO the Hornady bullet drop die on my RCBS feeder. The little plastic inserts in the die would only last me 5-10k rounds. RCBS sent me a pack for free when I called but it was a pain to have to pull it apart and swap them out since it only broke when I needed the ammo the next day. As for the OPs problem I use very little flare on mine approx .382 and it works great. You might try giving the collets a little more room to move and adjusting the height of the feeding die as well. Uhm, yeah, I was concerned about the plastic collet longevity and I've just started having it hold last 5-6 bullets as opposed to 1-2 bullets so I should probably call RCBS as well.
  22. It's not a proper S*I to CZ comparison, however I, like some posters above, also do not see much of a difference in felt recoil between the (lighter) M&P Pro and SP-01 Shadow shooting same loads. My results when practicing are a bit better (tighter groupings in the A area) with the Shadow, but I've been shooting it for almost a year vs the M&P Pro which I've just got. I can't wait to receive my STI GP6C which supposedly feels different in recoil due to the rotating barrel design.
