How about The Witcher?
-
No reason it won't work. I have my MBF in station 3, but it could be easily setup in station 4.

16 is heavier, so I see no reason to go with it. 14.5 for the win!

Completely avoidable but the question was as it played out so here's my probably incorrect ruling.
10.5.5. RO swept during course of fire. Call RM and he determines if it was sweeping or RO interference.
I would place blame completely on the RO. Shooter should have refused as pointing a loaded gun down range with someone down there is not a reasonable command.
10.6. Bringing shame to the game. RO should be disqualified and prohibited from acting as an RO until ( whatever they identify as ) has learned walking in front of a loaded firearm is not a smart play.
Imagine this unlikely scenario - at LAMR, shooter loads gun and takes a sight picture. RO leans forward and waves hand in front of shooters muzzle. Should shooter be DQ'd for sweeping? My 0.02$, both times are the fault of the RO.
I agree on both of your rulings.
My $.02 Shame on the shooter for allowing the RO to make him go muzzle up with a loaded firearm. This was wrong on many levels and had the potential to go south quickly. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed for that matter.

Buy a basic ruger 10/22 ( $250 ) from a box store. By the time he is serious 10+ technology will advance and any go-fast parts you buy today will be obsolete.

A lot of the above posts are spot on. I won't rehash what they said because they said it perfectly. I wan't to ask about the brass. Why not pick up your used brass? Get a brass picker and at least try and recoup some of your money. Every penny you save if less money toward consumables (bullets, primers and powder). Dumping your brass into a tumbler and walking away for a couple of hours takes no effort on your part and it will save you quite a bit of money especially if you are really shooting 4k a month.

Rant. I hope this is legal!
I hate newb's reviving old threads to get their post count up!

Any ideas?
edit, after a little more research, it looks like maybe need the alignment tool. I haven't taken anything apart, but maybe just wear and tear over the years?
Are you using Range brass? And it only happens one in a while? Are you sure you don't have 45ACP small primer brass mixed in? You would be surprised at how many small primer 45 cases I pull out of the range brass I pick up.

More Importantly - And I have watched this by every Grand Master and Master shooter - After you complete your dry run - your low ready start position for your head and EYES are on the first target - NOT your sights.......
I can't stress this enough! When I was shooting Steel Challenge, This is what gave me the final push from A to GM.

Definitely not normal. Throw them out.

Thanks! This helps a lot!
Is that the regular 8" strong mount or the shorter 650/750-only 6ish" version..?
Regular strong mount

Quite a bit, if the chair is the standard metal folding chair, you're tall and have bad knees.
I'm 6'5" tall.

That's a good analogy. The other thing I started doing was to stop watching other shooters shoot the stage after I have my stage plan in my head.

Another vote for the $20 Harbor Freight calipers. I'm reloading bullets, not building rockets for NASA. Save the money and use it toward reloading components.

16" barrel AR's I use Barnes 70gr TSX. It's an all copper bullet that fragments extremely well.

Here's my take...I've really only used Titegroup for my PCC's. I have tried 100gr, 124gr, 147gr & 160gr bullets with light charges and with heavy charges. I do have a 14" barrel with a comp pinned and welded. PCC's have three points of contact, pistols have two points of contact. From my experience, I only noticed a difference in how the bolt cycles. Again, I've only used Titegroup, but in PCC's I want a faster powder with a PF around 135-140. The comp is minimal in helping with dot bounce.
Hopefully this helps and it wasn't totally off the wall.

I strongly disagree with you. WSB needs to be specific. Sitting on chair could mean several different things. If you want to control it say something like sitting in chair with both feet on ground in front of chair, hands on knees. You can add back against back of chair for additional stringency.
I agree with Sarge!
WSB needs to be specific. Besides, how much time are you going to gain by sitting on the chair as opposed to sitting in the chair?

This might help you. I have a 650XL with strong mount and Case feeder. I have attached a picture for reference. My bench is 34" high. It measures just over 75" My ceilings are 8' I was holding the phone and the tape measure, so the angle looks like I have 7' ceilings. From my experiences, I think you'll be ok with 7' ceilings if you drop your bench to 34" You'll have room to add cases to the case feeder.

If you have the ability to dry fire outside it will definitely be more beneficial than indoor dry firing. First and foremost, Outside will allow natural light and the conditions to simulate what you will see in a match. The sun, glare, wind and the other elements you can't simulate indoors will help your shooting progress.

Different sports and scoring systems means different priorities. Speed doesn't necessarily mean how fast you can run. Speed is also learning to "see" faster. By that I mean your ability to acquire the sights faster, transition from target to target faster, and call your shots faster. Don't get me wrong accuracy does play a role in it too. Just show a video of JJ or Max shooting. New shooters are like how in the hell?
Another point of note is that IDPA gives you the answer by telling you what to shoot when in the stage description. USPSA gives you a stage puzzle and says solve it.

I'm sure it's not *necessary*
But I'm not buying processed brass, I'm using range pickups. And I'm planning to automate. So, there's no extra effort on my part, and I feel like it would get rid of brass with debris, .380/.38 Sup cases, etc.
Never thought about the animation part. I could see where it would be necessary for separate tool heads for processing brass.

Well he didn't mention if his press was automated or not.
But if you are automated then processing your brass first results in a lot less headache when you do the loading pass.
And if you are automated then a two pass strategy is not that big a deal when your processing pass can run at 2000+ cases/hour with minimal monitoring.
It's just a different way to skin the cat.
I haven't gone there yet and I might not but I'm curious.
Good Point. I never thought about animation.

Oil on moving and sliding parts. When I clean the guns (key phrase) I use CLP which also helps lubricate.
Dillon Shell Plate Bearing Stuck

A bic pen with the ink removed with double sided tape on the end. Since the bearing is light, it will stick to the tape and come out easily.
