Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I say pattern the gun. I thought my 24 M2 shot slugs high. 5 inches at 25 yards to be exact. After patterns, I came to realize the slug placement was a direct result of an 80/20 shooting gun. The solution for me, was to install a Keen Sights modified vent rib. You tell Vicki what you want your gun to do, they make the rib, the gun does it. They have a rib that puts the bead in a recess, therefore making breaking the bead/fiber optic impossible when dumping the gun in a barrel. Bending has its potential problems.
  2. You may or may not need to, or benefit from the switch. It depends both on your level of dominance and your overall vision in addition to your dexterity. Comparisons to others is useless. If you can switch, there's no harm. The experiment will yield results that will determine your path. If, in the end, it is your inclination to switch, commit.
  3. These have been scarce since June. I ended up buying a 24in Salient and I'm glad I did. If you are 3 gunning, one could argue, the 24 is a smarter, more popular purchase, especially considering the necessary mag extension.
  4. I'd guess, at the end of the day, potential liability issues determine the gear suggested and distributed to Law Enforcement personnel. As a civilian, these issues don't influence my choices. My 3 gun gear will more than adequately suffice in a self defense scenario. I generally find that, what I want, usually is above and beyond, my needs.
  5. Buy a std 21" Benelli M2 Field, even if you have to place it on order (it took Able Ammo 3 months to get mine this year), put a Nordic Components xtended tube on it, buy cases of shotshells and practice both shooting and loading. Don't get wrapped up in 3 gun specific shotguns, there is nothing specific/special about them except price. Good shooting! I have a 21" M2 Field and a 24" Salient. The sum of the differences makes them incomparable. I won't go as far to say you need a Salient, however, the modified guns are valid and run a grat deal better than the stockers.
  6. No, trying to get the Salient. A used shotgun, purchased from an out of state seller, to California, kind've sucks. Major rules, taxes and, fees.
  7. Think I'm on to the world of Mossberg 930's, the Benelli is currently improbable. Calling Benny Hill tomorrow.
  8. Uh...who is SCG? If it is So. Cal Gun in San Diego, they told me they only have the M2 tactical, "No M2 field guns".
  9. The Benelli M2 Field In Black (24"), is proving quite the impossible buy in the Los Angeles area. Had Turner's call the Benelli rep and, Benelli does not have them either. Excruciating for an impatient ready to buy person like myself. Ugh! Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
