  1. props to wiilshoot, very usefull calendar. I just wish there was something closer to nw chicago burbs besides bristol.
  2. I'll clean it and shoot it as is first to establish a base line. Then I'll do some polishing and compare. Do you think sand paper will work insead of dremmel? (I know, I know - every man should have a dremmel, im gonna get one soon too )
  3. Trying to find out what tools/materials needed to do some minor polishing on the trigger bar and plunger in eaa wintess match. Do i need dremmel tool or polishing stones, or something else? Any good video links on how to do it are very welcome.
  4. just contacted eaa, i'll send out red follower mag for replacement and get couple extra ones. So, whats the best way to break this baby in, Just oil and shoot couple hundred rounds? Can i do any "poor man's" trigger jobs or anything of that sort, does it need one? Good video link to dissambly and tunning will be a big help.
  5. I will have it in my hands in 48 hours, signed all the paperwork at the FFL guy yesterday. 72 hour wait period is ok with me, but my hands are itching to go try it out In any case, I inspected gun yesterday and all seems good. It came with one mag from factory but I bought one extra from the seller. One that came from factory has a black follower, second extra mag has red follower. Should i contact eaa and replace mag with red follower, since i hear it has issues?
  6. i don't think there is any in the near future
  7. sig trailside is very accurate. How about buckmark camper with tacsol barrel ?
  8. Got response from EAA. It could be swapped out and will need to be fitted ($75 fee for fitting at eaa).
  9. I'll try to check out that press in person and negotiate on the price then.
  10. Hello guys, found this dillon 550 press on craigs list, owner stated is used but in excelent condition. No other info but pics (didn't seems that seller knows much about it). Can you guys help indentify missing/necessary components of this press. What would i need to buy to make it fully operational? Also what do you think is fair value of this press ?
  11. Have anyone tried it? Did it actually required fitting by gunsmith of .45 slide to 9mm frame ?
  12. Are all newer witness elite frames same size? Can i convert 9mm match to .45acp by buying slide assembly, barrel and mags?
  13. What tumbler/media to use for cleaning brass? Should I get new/used, what brand have a best warranty?
  14. Hello guys, im just starting out with reloading and I have a couple of rookie qwestions: 1. Is it necessary to clean pistol brass in a tumbler (9mm,.45)? 2. Cleaning primer pockets?
  15. Thanks for very good reply, i'll get my new pistol next week and 'll try it with iron sights first and then order FO. I'll call dawson and see what size they recommend as well.
  16. dawson has 3 sizes a) .215 tall x .095 wide .160 tall x .100 wide c) .160 tall x .135 wide hennings a) .140 tall x .095 wide what size would you recommend?
  17. Trying to figure out which FO front sites to get. Not sure about what height/width dimensions do I need to work with factory adj rear sight on 2011 production Match 9mm. Dawson's are $40 and Hennings are $70, whats the advantage that worth extra $30? 1. Hennins 2. Dawson
  18. Finally found Elite Match 9mm of Gunbroker. Very excited, should get it next week
  19. Where to get additional mags for Match 9mm? Are OEM mags better/worth then aftermarket mags?
  20. Can't claim that its my idea (got it from xdtalk forums) I also filled void space between weights inside the rod with tungsteen putty and sealed it all with jbweld. Toal weight of the guide rod now just about 75 grams.
  21. I used those fishing weights: cabelas I can't remember exactly what size were they (maybe 1/4oz), but 6 of them fit almost perfect inside the guide rod. I know its kinda MacGyverish, but its inexpensive and if you don't like it you can remove them.
  22. I added tungsteen weights to my hollow stock guide rod, overall added about 1.5 oz. Helps with recoil and muzzle flip control
  23. Still not sure how heavy visc. improves function on "loose top end" like my xdm. Does it make slide to frame fit better, or barrel to slide?
