Not complaining. Just curious if this is ok with
Shooters on here. I did stop shooting certain matches because it was so prevalent. Didn't care enough to try and fix it.
Here is one I witnessed.. Table start unloaded gun magazine on the table. Buzzer went off grab gun slammed magazine into two hot packs in magwell. (27 degrees). RO stopped him for restart. What's your call?
I think the type of gun you are going to shoot plays a little into the equation. I like the snappy feeling of 124's in production, and I shoot a 34. Most people use 147's, and I would stay away from the 115's a little weak to knock down steel.
Restarts. Do overs related to gun problems. I have seen it more often at steel challenge matches. I don't care for it but don't care enough to say much. Anyone seen much of this? Do or would you say anything. What's the point in keeping score if you give mulligans.
I know that. I'm talking about getting a new one in WO. How many GMs have to shoot a classifier for them to use that one? I can't imagine a lot of
top level GMs shooting WO.
Watch YouTube! Anything that's worth doing to a glock you can do yourself. Don't cut the slide up. Looks cool but does not help shooting the gun at all. Plus if the frame cracks on a glock they will replace it (unless you have milled it)
That's what I was talking about. The guy that try's to crush every stage comes in first on a couple and 25th on the rest, can really change the math. What if three or four shooters are doing this. Not that they would but could a group of guys get together and help some one to the top?
Jay thanks for the history! I have older friends that were in the sport back then and they say it was more a representation of your shooting. Box to box. 50 yard standards. Do you think the stages have changed a lot?
Back to the scoring: I agree with Strick but I don't think there is a better way. Never was that good at math. Maybe match HF would be a better representation of the best shooter????
I'm well aware of hitting noshoots and mikes myself. Don't worry guys I'm not going to email or call USPSA headquarters like the WO guys to get things changed. Anyone on here old enough to tell us about scoring in the old days before electronic timers?
I forgot about the days before timers. I wonder if matches where mostly PAR times and Virgina count. How many of you would want a guy running you on a stop watch.
