  1. Here's a secret for clearing a double feed. Try it inyour gun, since it wont work in all guns.. Set up the double feed, and instead of locking back the slide, ripping out the mag then cycling the slide 3 times. just press the mag release buuton while simutaneously pulling back on the slide.. Try it you will be amazed.. Leanred the method from a class I took put on by Gabe Suarez. Works on my Duty Gun (Sig P226, .40 Cal) every time.
  2. Thanks for all the input guys.. great information.. I have decided to get proficient at tactical reloads..As far as where do I put the spent mag, I am not decided yet..I am in good shape (No belly) however, the waisteband just doesnt work for me, although I believe its the best place to store the mag in order to save time from your score. I will keep working on the waisteband, and keep using pants pocket unitl I get it worked out.
  3. Besdies IDPA's tactical journal, and IPSC's Front sight, I believe American Handgunner is the best all around magazine...
  4. Lilly, Remington makes a synthetic stock 700, you can get the gun in either 223 ,22-250 or 308. They have the full size Polcie sniper model or Varmit model..I believe they also make a short barrel version, which I feel would be ideal for you. As fa r as caliber, obvioulsy 223 or 22-250 are easier on the shoulder, but the bullet will be affected more by the elements. Remington guns are priced right and are relieble. Remember, when you mention the words sniper and rifle together, you are generally speaking of a heavy barrel, and a thicker stock, which equates to greater weight. Also, look at Gunsite (Jeff Copper) scout rifle.

  6. Sam, I agree with you, doing one type of reload is best, I favor the tac reload as well. I have been placing the used mag in my lower vest pocket, I am open for other options..Thanks for the reply
  7. I have bee a forum member for a few months now, and I am very impressed with the wealth of Knowledge displayed in some of the responses. Heres the question. In IDPA, which is a faster reload, a tactical reload or a reload with retention, (given you perform both well)? If you have to move immediatley after reloading,a tac reload would be faster, you can move while storing the previously used mag. But what if you have to shoot immediately following the reload? Also, where to store the mag, some say pants or in the belt, vest pocket of pant pocket?
  8. Thats a good question, and the pictures add a nice touch, however, in the heat of competition I rarely see anything, it just happens as a result of muscle memory
  9. Here's a late answer to your dry fire question..When Dry fring, most tend to place too much emphasis on sight alignment..After all, our goal is to improve our trigger pull.. Since the human mind can only consciously think of 1 thing at a time, I suggest you spend some of your dry fire prctice time..firing the gun with your eyes closed, get a feel for what the triger pull feels like, then hold the trigger down and rack the slide and repeat. Hope it works for you..
