Have you tried different ammo in your Tanfoglio? Different guns ... different POI.

I get my 40 cal Mec-Gar mags from Greg Cote: http://www.gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=97_134&products_id=1091

FYI - My ATF SBR form 1 was just approved. I filed electronically via the ATF website and it was a 4.5 month turnaround. I think paper form approvals are running 10 months.

Stainless brush with some degreaser. I friend of mine didn't keep his clean and actually got rust marks.

One ear at around 6700 Hz. Use Xanax and Ambien for the first month or two to get through the "shock of having something incurable" stage. My ENT doesn't think tinnitus will ever get the proper level of funding to find a cure. Too much money going to research drugs for getting erections and growing hair.

Heat. DeNiro ... Pacino ... guns. Nuff said.

Take it from someone who has developed tinnitus from shooting ... wear plugs AND muffs.

I prefer green much more than red. I see green so much better I also switched to a red dot scope that offers red & green reticles so I could use green for steel matches.

Shooting in hot sweaty Florida - I put Talon grips on all my plastic guns. http://talongungrips.com/

I get 20. Henning told me he could get 21 with tuning.

I use 1.125" OAL with 180g plated bullets in my Witness Elite Limited for major.

Any engraver could do that. I use this guy for ATF engraving requirements: http://kensmithengraving.com/
Maybe you can find a local engraver, or as K808 suggests ... a laser engraver.

Echo everything CHA-LEE states. I shoot a Limited in USPSA (9mm minor & 40 major) and steel matches and if I were starting over ... I would go with a 2011 for all the reasons posted above. EAA is terrible at every aspect of being a gun distributor in the USA and just the lack of parts availability is enough reason to buy a different brand for competition.
When I bought the Witness Limited for around $975, it was by far the most gun for the money in the limited division. In today's market with EAA Witnesses going for $1200, I would try to find a used 2011.

I just noticed your post is for a small frame. All of my post relates to my large frame pistol & conversions experience.

You need the upper (slide, barrel, spring) and mags. See the two attached photos. I run 9mm & 40 cal. I originally bought a 9mm limited and later purchased a 22 conversion and 40 cal conversion. The full upper conversions (9mm, 40 cal etc.) take about 6 months to get from the wonderful EAA corp. Last year my 40 cal conversion was about $460 and now I think they went up to crazy $700 prices. It runs great in 40 or 9. EAA will tell you the upper needs to be "fitted". Nope, I just slapped the 40 cal upper on, noticed the slide was pretty tight fit so I lubed it up with slide-glide, racked the slide about 100 times before going to the range. I'll continue to run 9mm and 40 but I'll sell the 22 conversion.
It may be easier, cheaper, and much faster to buy a used 9mm.
Good luck.

I developed tinnitus ROing with the Howard Leight Impact muffs. Their noise reduction rating (NRR) is pretty low - 22. I switched to the 3M Peltor H10A Optime 105 Earmuffs which have a NRR of 30 decibles. I take the manufacturer NRR ratings with a grain of salt and wear plugs under the muffs.

Speedmag. Speedsec is their holster.

FYI - Maybe this post will save same someone a little research time when buying mag pouches for their Witness. The attached image is my favorite mag pouch with the inside rollers. They are unmarked and made by: http://www.hoeppner-schumann.de/index.php/katalog/category/view/11
Henning no longer sells them but Double Alpha does: http://www.doublealpha.biz/ipsc-holsters-rigs/pouches/hoppner-schumann-speedmag-5cw-3-pack
The ones I bought from Henning a couple of years ago had belt loops, now they come with Tek-Lok attachments.

Bladetech for the Witness used for USPSA action pistol and steel matches. BTW, I use the same holster for my SIG (45 ACP) and RIA (9mm) 1911s.

Cerakote is another option for around $150.
