I have a RIA 9mm 1911 and I use Wilson Combat. No problems so far.

Bladetech for the Witness used for USPSA action pistol and steel matches. BTW, I use the same holster for my SIG (45 ACP) and RIA (9mm) 1911s.

Here's the link to the Weigand 2 1/2 lb. trigger pull article. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=10297/guntechdetail/2-lb-Trigger-Pull

I highly recommend Talon grips for $18: http://talongungrips.com/ I use them on Glocks and a SA XD 45 and never had them come off or slide around down here in hot sweaty Florida.

hercster - post pics please.

RePete is correct. I was joining a (different) forum and had to come up with a username - I happened to have an XD45 on my workbench at the time. I never noticed the Tampax part until the CZforum denied my signup cuz "Tampax" is a prohibited word within their forum software. I'll change my username on benos someday. I think you need a certain number of posts before you can change.

It looks like the Taylor uses a retaining screw vs Henning's newer tool-less design with the spring loaded retention rod.

Around 10K on my Witness Elite Limited with a mixture 9mm and 40 cal major & minor loads. No wear marks.

I used a 13# with 147g FMJ or plated bullets.

Unless they've changed policy ... they also added a $5 charge if your order was less than $25. Really sucks if you just need something small like a spring.

How about JB Weld as a temp fix?

Yes the barrel is still .357I tried .357 bullets in 9mm brass and found no improvement in accuracy over plated or FMJ .356 out of my 327 barrel. YMMV.The idea was to consolidate bullets & brass across divisions. I can now shoot the same 9mm ammo in production, limited, and revo.Target was at 17 yards.

I've seen a few posts recently re: 9mm conversions so I thought I would share the costs.
New cylinder from S&W $103 and took a week to receive. Cylinder comes with the extractor rod, but you'll also need the small parts listed in the jpg below. I initially ordered them from S&W, but after a 6 week wait I just purchased them from various sellers on Ebay for a total of about $25.
Send the new cylinder to TK Custom for rechamber - $275. Pinnacle was $20 cheaper but offered a 6 week turnaround vs TK which had it back to me in 4 days. Also had TK supply the 9mm .035 thickness moonclips.
Some of the project costs will be offset by the sale of 2,000 pieces of Starline 38 SC brass and TK's .025 moonclips.
See the attached target jpg for results with the epoxy coated, plated, and FMJ rounds. Interesting how the Bayou bullets didn't stabilize.
This 8 shot is used for USPSA, ICORE, and steel matches.

I handled a R9 at a local gun store. Very well made, very expensive ($1200), can't shoot +P ammo, and supposed to change the recoil spring every 200 rounds.

I use the Wilson #500-9A 9MM Elite Tactical Magazine ETM Aluminum Base Pad. Bought them from Shooter's Connection. No problems so far.

I use Talon grips on all of my plastic guns. As Bluemoon says, use alcohol and heat with a hair dryer when applying. http://talongungrips.com/grips/smith-and-wesson/

$100 would be about right. I inherited two of them. Nice solid guns but don't shoot high velocity rounds through them. Modern 380 self defense HP rounds blew the extractor out of one of them.

I ordered a Bowen Rough Country on June 11 ... still no product or ETA.
I've followed up twice:
1st. response: "We hope to have a fresh batch of parts ready for shipment in the next 30-60 days."
2nd response a month later: "I am sorry, but we are still waiting on parts from our supplier. We do not have a date as to when your order will be ready."

Another benefit to Florida is having no state income tax.

Like others, I use a small bucket with Dawn disk soap. Soak, rinse repeat, hang dry.
