  1. Enjoyed it less and less and less. It got to the point to where to the "perfect" shot was no longer a joy but the less than perfect shot was a disappointment.

I'm concerned about this ... if it happens to me I expect there will be a few more used limited and open guns on the market. This subject came up this weekend. A friend of mine said as soon as he get's is M card it's off to sporting clays for him and all his race guns go on sale. It made me sad at first. It made me more sad that more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

  2. ... it's a game, we keep score, there are winners and losers. Sometimes there is a really cool prize that you miss out on because of less than 10 match points. That's frustrating and it's difficult sometimes not to get caught up in it all.

When it happens to me I repeat to myself: "Focus on the fundamentals and everything else will fall into place."

Don't get me wrong though, this isn't me opening the door to stroll down the path of nirvanic shooting enlightenment. I'm not taking any sort of moral high road here or making deposits of goodness into the universal gun games karma credit program.

It's an attempt to take my focus off winning so that I can.

the something that is fairly obvious in a round-about way

The problem with trying to describe an experience is that it usually has to already be experienced to understand the description. You can have people tell you what it is like to "see the sight lift" a thousand different ways. I bet none of these ways truly describe what you experience when you finally see it ... neither will the words you choose to describe it either.

How much more difficult is it to describe an emotion or a feeling?

... maybe it's best to say it's more obvious to someone who has already been there. A light to make more clear the way they are already going, or a reminder to take the turn to go down a path they've already taken. For everyone else, it's directions hopefully good enough to get them to a place they have not yet been and talk of a road sign hopefully they see when they come upon it.

  3. Very cool.  It's too bad that manufactures, like Barrett, don't take similar steps.

"Barrett cannot legally sell any of its products to lawbreakers. Therefore, since California’s passing of AB 50, the state is not in compliance with the US Constitution’s 2nd and 14th Amendments, and we will not sell nor service any of our products to any Government agency of the State of California. "

    Wow ... makes we want to buy a Barrett .50 ... wait, I can't.

  4. Isn't it amazing how fast you can turn a pair of tighty-whities into a thong?

I think that's how this guy did this. It goes to show what happens when you go the beach after shoot where a "death draw" happens. This guy hasn't reholstered yet.

  5. If not for my screw ups in matches, I doubt I'd still be having fun shooting. :)

If not for my buddies screw ups in matches, I would not be having as much fun. :)

If not for my screw ups in matches, I KNOW they would not be having as much fun. ... I hate that. (not really :P )
