what are your transitions like when you only fire 1 shot at each target?

... some light reading from "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra
... interesting statement at the end regarding Eugen Herrigel's little book Zen in the Art of Archery:
"Herrigel's description of archery is one of the purest accounts of Zen because it does not talk about Zen at all."

"Voilà, the ZF.1. It's light, handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties, breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick discreet interventions. A word on firepower, titanium recharger, 3,000 round clip with bursts of 3 to 300, with a Replay button--another Zorg invention--it's even easier. One shot and Replay sends every following shot to the same location. And, to finish the job, all the Zorg oldies but goldies: rocket launcher; arrow launcher, with exploding or poisonous gas heads; our famous net launcher; and, the always efficient flame thrower--my favorite; and, for the grand finale, the all new Ice Cube System."

... wow how did I miss this thread until now. ong45 actually won the stage (I came in second) and kevin c's time was only 3 times as long
I'll have to bring the camera and take/post some pictures next weekend.
ps. congratulations to kevin c for winning our club's Service Award today for this year!

Thanks to everyone that came to the match and for supporting our sport in the Northern California Section. There was a lot of effort put into this match by many people. What makes it worth it in my mind is that the shooters that attended went away with a great experience, especially those that took the time, effort, and money to drive 3 to 6 to 8+ hours to attend ... thank you all. I hope you enjoyed the match as much as we enjoyed having you.

I'm no salter all the way and frankly can't see why anyone would want to salt watermelon.
... or in their beer. I've seen people do that ... I don't get it either.

short round must really think I'm flaming now.
It's cool .... I knew it was only a matter of time until you came out of the closet. I've seen you shoot open. People don't get that good with guns that they don't like.

Dan Carden and Mike Carmoney have come from literally out of no where ...
... actually Dan Carden came out from Richmond.
He's frick'n awesome, but I guess you guys know that now.

I too have spit for distance and accuracy on occasion...
How accurate and how far, 4 inch group at 3 yards? Also, do you find a difference spitting the lighter seeds vs. the darker heavier seeds? Do you aim with one eye or two? Finally, how fast are your spits?

.... she likes seedless
... that's okay. She's a girl, they can like that.
-
The one option that is missing is the nancy boy wimp out option of the "seedless watermelon".
... "seedless watermelon" belongs in the half-a$$ section along with decaffinated coffee, fat free sour cream, turkey jerky, and meatless baked ziti. It's like a shot without follow through. Why pull the trigger in the first place if you aren't willing to go all the way and finish it?
"nancy boy wimp out option " is right on... you won't find any of that here.
Go BIG or go home!
Posers need not apply.

I despise watermelon....
That's too bad. Ironic that you're avatar looks like "Figure 1" from the handbook "How to cut up a watermelon and other circular fruit."

My brass tray is now VERY gummy from the One Shot, so I am 100% positive that One Shot leaves nasty, sticky residue.
This happened to me too ... maybe I got hold of some of the same batch. That's why I had to wipe the one shot off with silicone. Eventually I just switched to the Dillon case lube ...
-
I used it after the one shot. I would spray the silicone on a towel, then dump a layer of bullets onto one half of the towel, spray more silicone on top of that, fold the towel over, and rub it all down. Worked pretty well to get the one shot off and leave a light coating of silicone on the cartridges ... didn't take too much time either.

... looks like I'm late for the party.

Try this one from the Richmond Hotshots:
Safe Handgun Competitor: A manual for students and instructors
It's 68 pages long so ... grab a cold one before you sit down to read it. Lots of pictures too for the text only challenged. Props to Bill for doing all the work to update the document.
Check out Chapter 2 - Competition to see "what goes on at a match."
