Another vote for 15rd MecGar's. Mine look identical to the 10rd factory mags that came with my 229. And yes, 228 mags will work.

Sigforum's classifieds for the SRT kit, or send it to a gunsmith. My P229 SAS V2 and my father's P226 Elite have both had excellent SRT triggers from the factory but YMMV.

Shot a friend's Grade B P6 trade in a few times. OEM magazines were hard to find a few years ago, don't know if that's improved. The gun was mechanically very accurate but suffered from a HEAVY trigger pull. A new set of springs cleaned it up nicely and it ran well. I still regret not buying it from him when I had the chance.

Do they make those style magazine extenders for 9mm 228/9 magazines?

Brush and dry. Any kind of lubricant attracted too much dirt and debris.

The 228 and 229 magazines are the same for 9mm. If you have a 40/357 229, the 9mm 228/9 mags will fit loosely in the well as it is a slightly wider frame.
