  1. DouqC - Bounty, Thank you for your impression, I started to have the first miss-fire, after the installation the Wolff Reduced Power ribbed mainspring, with the screw all-closed (and it was a really smooth trigger-pull). I did NOT changed the rebound spring, because i was thinking that a very fast rebound of the trigger it is a good choice, to accelerate my split-time. .... but now i am thinking that the 15 lbs. rebound spring can be a "good" compromise, (the factory spring it is 18 lbs. ?). Now, i am using a "Wilson Tune Custom" mainspring (i have a Wolff-standard too ...), and in about half-serrating screw i have a very good ignition, .... .... but the trigger-pull weigth it's a little bit heavy, than the Wolff Red. Pow. I have NOT a really trigger-job, (this Revo it is "young", .... about 2.500 shot only), but my gun-smith had only polished (like mirror) the trigger, the hammer, and the rebound-train (!), to eliminate every frictions with the frame. So, after this "report", i think i will NOT take the Extra-length Pin, maybe i will change the rebound spring with the 15 lbs. , but i'm still not sure to make a trigger-job. What do you think about cutting the hammer-crest ? (bob-hammer) .... i was reading other old posts, and someone said that it will be more lighter and than more faster (more ignition ...) ..... impressions ??? Thank you again, .... expecially if are so patient .... to understand my English !!! Luca
  2. Hi all, I have a lot of problems to find the way, to order 4-5 pcs. of S&W "Extra Length Firing Pin", for my Revos (625 / Wolff Reduced-power spring). Here in Italy, theese pins are Unknow, nobody know what they are .... I tried to order from Cilynder&Slides and from Brownells, but the first said that now it is impossible ship guns-parts, the second don't ship ANYthing in Europe. I really don't know what i have to do, to have theese little pcs. of steel !!! Can somebody tell me if there is an On-Line shop that sell this article overseas ? Thank you for any answer.
  3. I have an STI Trojan cal. 9x21 (... 9x19 it is illegal in Italy), and it shot very fine, I made myself the loads: 123 grs FMJ x 5,00 N340 = PF 132 very soft and accurate load. The only things i have done to thi wonderful Single-stack are: - Wilson Shock Buffer installed - Wolf spring-recoil 9 lbs. and .............. .......... shot, shot, shot. ciao
  4. Hi all, I am trying to load N310 in .45 acp for Major loads, in 625 5". Theese loads will be for IPSC mathes, N310 x 4,00 grs. x 230 grs. RNFMJ I had about 173-174 Power Factor with this load, very clean and a min recoil, ........ ...... What do you think about ???
  5. Thank you Vince, ............ ......... my two little boys (S&W 625), will sleep without nightmares. Ciao
  6. GREAT Rufus !!!!!!!! Revolver Standard Division ................... will survive !!!
  7. Hi all, One question, I saw a wonderfull STI Trojan 9x21 (in Italy 9x19 is ILLEGAL ......), and i was thinking that it is a great choice for ESP division, .... What do you think abut it ? P.S. I saw that a lot of shooters use a Single Stack .40sw in ESP, ..... but it isn't better a 9mm. ? (less recoil, 10 ronds in the magazine, ecc. ..............) Thank you for your comments.
  8. Hi Mike, I have a 1100 Comp Master too, from September, ................... really i did not had a lot of time to shoot like i will, only 500 rounds(with a lot of different cartridges, without ONE malfunction !). I have an Easy-Loader ready to install, ............... .......... but i am a little afraid that after the installation, the shotgun will not go (perfect), right now (without the EZLoader) ................... i don't know which way it is better to take, ........... because i was reading some old posts, where others shooters said that they had some troubles, after the installation of this accessories ........... Another thing to say is, that the EZLoader is very, very fast , ................. but i think that if your Remmy don't shoot when he HAD to, ........... it is a bigger problem ..... and the seconds go, go, go. Ciao.
  9. hi, It is a good choice for the Limited semi-auto (now Standard), changing the ported barrel of course, because you have the shotgun just ready to go, (safety maj, mag extension, ecc.), only if prefer to shot with a rib-barrel, you have to take away the rear sight and the rail.
  10. Hi guys, An elementar question, ............ I an starting to try IDPA (CDP division), with my Para-Ordnance P14-45 Limited inox, .............. so i think that the original recoil spring it is too much eavier, i don't know how many ponds it is. I would like to try something different, , here in Italy i can find Wolff, Ismi and Sprinco, ............. Reading some posts i was thinking about 12 - 14 lbs, with Wilson Shock buffer, ...... i am talking about 230 grs. bullet weight and 165 Pf, for CDP division IDPA. can somebody help me ? hi
  11. thank you guys, After your posts, i think i'll buy this little boy, ....... my little mod.19 2,5" need a new friend .................... ahahahahahah. ciaoooooooooooooo
  12. Hi all, I would be at the next IDPA basic course, here in Italy, and i was thinking about an used (but absolutely new) 686 4" barrel, ............. the questions: - Is a good choice for IDPA ? (here in Italy we CAN'T have the 625 4", because the only imported model is the 5") - Can i use this revo with the cylinder machined, to use the full moon ? , are they LEGAL in IDPA ? The price is very good (i think) 250 Euro (now about $ 210 - 215), but if i can't use the clips, ............ i don't buy it. Thank you
  13. Spook, Thank you, i'll let you know (after this job), how it work .............. i hope fine ! ciao
  14. Oh, oh, oh ............................. There is a little problem i didn't knew ............. last evening i was trying to change the front sight, ......... but after i push out the little pin i saw that the original sight have an hole too, and the new that i want to change, (SDM pin in), no ........ I hope you don't tell to me that i have to make this little hole in the new sight ........................................... oh my God, i really hope no !!! ................................. (i need a good Gunsmith !!!) ciao
  15. This morning i have reiceved the SDM front sigth, ................ Fantastic !!! (ordered from Dillon Precision), next days i will put on the revo .......... one green and one red ............. who will be the best ??? hi all
  16. Mike 45, I always shoot in my Club (with the shotgun), together Rossano Zallocco (Limited Semi-auto Italian Official Team), ..... this guy before start IPSC shotgunnig (only one year ago !!! ............) was National Champion clays shooting (Trap and Skeet !!!), so i think that, in his case, helped him very much (.... also my tipps and tricks ahahahah). He don't move very well, like a practical shooter (fast, fluid, ecc.), but he have a great practice (familiarity) with his shotgun, he handle it very fast when he engage the targets and another think i saw, he is very very fast to shoot a 5 or 6 sequence (.20 - .21 split time), i think this depend from his clays-shooter past (when he was 12 years old). I know others Italian shooter that shoot Skeet and Hunting-percours (me too !!!), and we are (before to be shooters) upland-hunters, i am sure this help a lot, because when we go to make IPSC practice, the shotgun handling is just fine, it is a "problem" we don't have ..... i think. Talking with Roberto Vezzoli, during the European Math, we was remebering our hunting adventures (pheasant, woodcock, quail, ducks), also with Luigi Silvestroni (he is a very good ducks-hunter), we was talking about this, and before this grat match, i remember (during tha Nationals), looking a shooter that made a very long time with some miss, he said "this guy it is'nt an hunter, i think he never shoot to a duck in his life ......" ciaoooooooooooo

    Reloads

hi all, after the last shot, keeping all the time the revo with the strong hand, i push the latch with the first finger of the weak hand, and at the same time i push out the cylinder with the trigger-finger of the strong hand, at this point to push away the spent brasses (moonclip), i "kick" with the palm of the weak hand and after this, with the weak hand i take the new clip from my holder (California Comp), and i complete the reload. After i put the new clip in the cylinder, closing the revo i am engaging the next target, ready to shot. I tried to reload changing the hand (reloading with the strong hand), but is too much difficoult for me, because i am worried that the "changing-hand" to keep the revolver, can cause the loosing of this.
  18. Oh my God James, don't buy the blue 900, it doesn't crimp the shells like factorye's, there are others that works better, and cost less than half !!! (in Italy....) You don't find better in your country ? watch out better !!! This is my personal experience of 18 years of bird-hunting and thousands of cartridge made myself. Ciaooooooooooooo
  19. Spook, I don't know others (maybe Hi-viz), i'll order SDM from Brownells, but i just have a Millet rear, and it seem that together they work well, .......... i hope. ciao
  20. thank you very much, Bjorn I'll do it using the maximum care, slow, slow ..................ciao.
  22. thank you Spook, I have a 686 with the cilylinder machined, and then i can usually use the TK Custom moonclips. I'll do this little job myself, the thing i want to know is if you did it slowly by hands, or if you was using an a elettric machine, and if you can explain to me what is "small round file" (my english it isn't very good), is a kind of abrasive paper, or a metallic tool? (excuse me but i don't want to hurt my revo). I make this question, because i think that if i want to make a "ligth" job, it's better to do by hands (slow-slow), until i have the chambers i wish. For my "inspiration" i take a look to the chambers of my 627 - 8 times Performance Center revo, ...... i would like the same result. P.S. I am really thinking to buy a 625 model ........... (!) ......... but anyway, i'll have to make the same chamfering job again !!! ciao
  23. To Spook, (and the other guys too) in a old post, i had seen that it isn't difficult to make this job in the chambers of my revo, i don't want to make a hard work, but a "little" chamfering yes, do you think is a job that required a Gun-smith ? because in Italy i don't think there are persons that make this particular job, ..................... in this case it is better i do myself !!! .................... I had to born in the States ! ........ i think it every time !!!! ciao.
  24. Dear Neil, next year, .... maybe ..... i will compete in the "old" Limited-semiauto division, now i read it will be Standard division, the name of theese divisions don't interess me ....... but the things that i think are really important, and i wish understand it better, are: - 9 rounds (in the magazine or in the shotgun, condition 1 ???) at the start signal, i mean, is it possible have 9 ronds in the magazine - 1 round under the bolt - 1 rond in the chamber, or 9 rounds are TOTAL (7 in the magazine - 1 round under the bolt - 1 rond in the chamber) ??? - EZ loader (for the Remmy) i can use in the Standard Division ? and, the last question, the rule of the max capacity of the shotgun-magazines, depend from the caliber of the barrell (2'-3/4, 3', 3'-1/2) ?, because in this case it is better to find a good semi-auto 3'-1/2, to have more lenght of magazine (and more rounds to put it), after the start signal, of course ...... i think this possibility is another chance, that a good shooter may think, (we allwais think all the littles tipps that the rules permitt us .... or not ?). thank you Neil.
  25. address e-mailed, ................................ thank you very, very, very much !!!!! ciao
