  1. Can someone who has a Limited that runs well post a couple pics of their magazine spring/follower setup? Im looking to see the angle of the follower and if you tilt the follower to the right like Henning suggests on his site. I am really struggling with my new Limited. I shot it in my first match today with terrible results. With just over a 1000 rounds through it, it just will not feed. I started with factory ammo, that didnt work (all over the place with a lot of nose dives and even some bullets hitting the top of the barrel). So I bought a Dillon and started loading new Starline Brass with Zero FMJ bullets (flat nose) out to 1.2, still at least one nose dive per magazine. I am using 5 of Hennings 21 rounds mags. I have tried the feed lips as narrow as .385 up to .40, it doesnt seem to matter. The rounds do not stack up very well in the magazine. After about 5 rounds in the mag the bullets start to spread apart (hope that makes sense). Pretty frustrated at this point in time. Did I screw up and buy the wrong gun? My only experience is shooting my Glock 34 for production and my Springfield 1911 which both eat anything. Thoughts or suggestions? What am I doing wrong here?
  2. I just started reloading over the last couple days for my new Limited. The good news is that the longer OAL seems to have fixxed the nose dives for now. But I am using NEW Starline Brass loaded long to around 1.2 inches. I will start loading some used brass today and see what happens without using a push through die. Just in case I went ahead and hacked up a Lee Die like the original poster and mounted it in a single stage press. Time will tell! Thanks for the info.
  3. What was your experience using the EGW U Die? I just bought a Limited and have had horrible luck getting it to feed factory ammo. I ordered a Dillon 550 and a single stage press that I plan on using to resize first. I ordered the EGW Die from Henning today and thought about drilling the threads out and using that as a press through die first... Thoughts?
  4. After weeks of reading that seems to be the consensus. I will start around 1.18 and work up from there. I just need to figure the powder thing out! It seems that NV320 has the most votes but local availability is crap. Titegroup and Solo1000 seem to get a lot of good reports along with Clays (with a little controversy about spikes in pressure). Does everyone own a chrono or do people “share”? I suppose as long as you are loading your own rounds you will always want to check the results... These toys and sports are addicting!
  5. So after reading for months I bit the bullet and ordered a new Witness Limited .40 from Hyatt Guns in Charlotte. What a beautiful gun! I knew that there were some feeding issues to deal with and sure enough, mine right out of the box (after a good cleaning and lube job) didnt feed any factory ammo! I tried every thing I could find locally. Some would nose dive, some would angle way up and hit the top of the barrel... I ordered 4 of Hennings 21 round magazines and they do the same thing. I set the feed lips to .39ish but still no luck. I could manage to get 19 rounds in the mags but that was it. They do not seem to "stack" very well in the mags... Oh well, I ordered a Dillon 550 yesterday, a bunch of Starline Brass, some Zero and some Montana Gold 180 grain bullets. Time to start loading long! We will figure this out one way or another I dont think I would be involved in the sport if it wasnt for these forums! The wealth of knowledge is incredible. Thanks! (my only experience prior to this is my Glock 34 for production and that gun will eat any factory ammo I feed it!)
  6. Yea if I had any cash left I would get it. I bought one last week from Hyatt Guns (hyattgunstore.com) in Charlotte for $950. I think they just raised the prices a bit...
