  1. I lube my 9mm brass too. A couple points I want to emphasize- WCC is good brass I agree- it's the fact that half of what I find has crimped pockets. I don't have a swager on my press so it's a no go for me. S&B... the mere fact that you need to check with a magnet to make sure they are actually brass is another no go for me. The primer pockets are the tightest non-crimped brass I've ever used... and I use Federal primers which seat very well in general. I can't tell you how many cases I've had with partially seated primers I've had to toss.

Now all that being said... I own a Dodge Ram.. rolleyes.gif

i was just stating my opinion as you were and telling the OP to do with his brass what he felt better!

and im glad you own a ram!!!

  2. Thanks so much for all the posts so far. This has been very helpful thread for me. I've kept up with this thread and read all of the other three threads that G-ManBart posted - all informative. I have decided that I really can't go wrong with whatever I do with any Dillon - it's quality a different $ levels and features.

A couple of users mentioned the Hornady LNL which raised my curiosity so I took a brief look at it too. It looks impressive. (I will admit that I'm leaning toward liking a press with auto-indexing.) I can see that the 550B and the LNL appear to be sturdier larger machines than the SDB and have more flexibility (using different mfgs dies, etc.) as well. The mount/bench situation seems to be as important to sturdiness as anything. I think I'm going to have to think about all this a little more. I still don't ever won't to load anything but .45 and 9mm but, while I figure out where my reloading bench and area will be, I'll be deciding what goes on it.

If you feel like continuing to comment please do so and thanks again. I'll get it figured out eventually.

i wouldnt go with a lock and load they are nice but i can link multiple posts of people getting pissed trying to set them right and or broken items or just having a hard time to get it to work in conjunction with each moving part.. now i have 2 650's right out of the box i set it up ten mins later made 100 rounds no big deal buy blue stay blue love blue they will do the same in return.. also if your only doing .45 acp and 9mm i kinda would buy 2 sdb and be done with it

  3. There's not any other choices that don't increase your labor a great deal.

+1 I get given alot of WCC 9mm brass for free and it's crimped. When it snows I work on it. I deprime it then chuck up a pocket reamer in a drill. Man is it time consuming! But I must enjoy it because I really don't need the brass. But it's free!:roflol:

ill def buy that WCC brass unswaged

  4. Thats funny cause WCC is my best and favorite brass to use! ill take it all. Also S&B brass is great to me too.. i lube my 9mm and i have not one problem loading primers or anything with S&B brass ill take it all again!..S&B brass is a little thicker then normal but its that countrys military brass so take it with a grain and try loading whatever and see how you like it. you cant really go on some peoples opinions you know! like i prefer a dodge ram over a f 150.

  5. I don't know of one but others here might. If you use the strong mount you would have to leave all the bolts loose, mount it, then tighten up everything since there is some play.

    +1

you will have to put the strong mount on first them stand it upright and mark your holes i mounted mine 1 inch from the edge of the bench.. i think the strong mount is amazing with the way it puts the pressure around 10 square inches i believe then just plain old mounting it to a bench...

  6. WSF, WST, Clays. So you have a slow, med and fast powder for all occasions.

Which powder creates the least amount of smoke and the cleanest in terms of residual. I plan on loading hard casts, and I know there is a certain amount of smake that is going to be generated form the lead and lube. Thanks, Wayne

i use wsf in my 9mm with ww cast bullets and blue angel lube and omfg does it smoke and gag me out i try not to shoot them unless i run out of my extreme plated bullets
