  1. First of all that is awesome. I'm a huge fan of how it turned out. My question is why not go for a TS if you were going to go to all that trouble of tuning it up? The up front increase in cost seems trivial compared to what went into it

$650 for the Standard from a pawnshop. The decision was easy.

  2. I have an IPSC Standard and I successfully used every Tactical Sports part I have ever got a hold of....hammers, magazines, mag wells, springs, triggers, grips, sights, firing pins, etc.

I had heard that the Tactical Sports had a radius added from the transition of the dust cover to the top of the slide (not sure if that's a good explanation) but mine had it as well. I have about 5k through mine now plus what was ever in it originally (not many).

I have some close ups of some of the parts at http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=44860.15

  3. It could also be your mag brake or button. Try removing your mag brake and see if it happens. As far as the button, I've had to remove some material because I would press too hard and the back side of the button would press against the magazine.

  4. I had removed some burrs on the slits that are cut on them. I also went ahead and polished the contact surfaces with a felt bob and some rouge. I also made some small adjustments to the flaring die to open up the case mouth slightly. This seemed to engaged the collets in the feeder better.

I also think the coating has improved a little in hardness or surface finish since the first batch I had. I don't have any proof of this though.

  5. Did you have to adjust the Hornady bullet feeder die (9mm)? I love the blue bullets but having problems with them feeding through the die. I hate to adjust the collets as they work perfectly with my jacketed (MG) bullets and am considering either buying another collet set to "adjust" or getting the die for a Mr Bullet Feeder as that it reported to work with lead as well as jacketed bullets.

I've been able to get the Hornady bullet feeder to run both MG and Blue bullets but I had issues at first.

  6. I've been shooting these bullets for nearly 1 year now. I found one 9mm bullet in a my box of 40s and my fingers look a little "Smurfy" after a lot of handling...I suppose I should ask for a full refund. I'm the customer dammit!

In all seriousness, I've used them in 9mm (124gr), 40s&w (180gr), 45 ACP (230gr) and recently 158gr 38s. I've shot probably 800 45 ACP, 1900 40s and 1200-1600 9mm without a hick-up. No issues what so ever. They are all feeding through my Hornady bullet feeder and with load development they are as accurate as you can ask them to be. I've had no leading of the barrels either. Note that I clean my firearms after each use with a maximum of probably 500 in one session.

They are gradually replacing their grooved molds with molds that do not have the lube ring. I can't say I've noticed the difference in accuracy but the larger bearing area should help. They also use virgin lead instead of recycled so I think they are a little more consistent than some others.

Based upon my experiences I will continue to buy their product.

  7. I switched to the thin safeties and the SP01 safeties but Scott Perman had some higher force springs that also took care of the problem. If you are thinking about running it in 3 gun or for something that might need a little more safety manipulation, you might give them a try.

  8. Yes, I had the same thing happen to mine....but it was at an Area match. :angry2:

Since then, I've used Red Loctite on the dovetail and Blue Loctite on the threads without issue. You can still remove it later.

  9. I'm running the longer one, but I've never had issues with the factory one before I worked mine over. I can run it over to Nathan's shop some time if you want to dry fire the shit out of it. :goof:

  10. Pull one of those Bayous out of the soft dirt (or shoot it in a 55 gallon barrel of water) and measure it to be for sure of the diameter of the barrel. There are also less fun ways of slugging a barrel.

  11. The CZC extended base pads will get you to 20 rounds with the standard spring and follower; however, they don't all work and tweaking is necessary.

I didn't go the Grams route, because he said he would not guarantee the slide would lock back after the last round. He said he would not take them back if they didn't.

The 21 round CZC follower and 10 coil spring work great and do not require tweaking. I have both, although I still only load 20 rounds. As the standard followers and springs need replacing, I switch to the CZC units.

I'd like to try the Grams, but slide lock is a must. So unless any of you tell me your Grams kit do lock the slide back all of the time, I'm not willing to gamble.

All my Gramms followers lock the slide back.

  12. I run Gramms springs and followers, the CZ tubes, and CZ custom base pads. I can only get 20 in my mags, but I hear 21 is possible. I've also never tried really hard either. When they are loaded to 20 rounds, I have not had a problem with feeding.

  13. My TS

How is the TiNi holding up on your barrel? Mine is starting to wear off forward of the barrel hood (exposed chamber area). It's probably been 1.5-2,000 rounds.

Good looking gun, by the way.
