Hmm very possible since the normal TS frame is wider. Maybe Stuart can chime in here?

I sent Stuart a cz75 SA frame and bought the TS upper and had them fit it so I'm not sure what was required. It's the closest I can get to a California LSP haha

He (Stuart) recommended I machine the slide dust cover vs. the frame when I bought the slide from him. Since there are a lot of different variations in CZ and components I don't want to speak in absolutes if it's required.

I've really enjoyed mine. After I machined it down, I polished it and had it hard chromed (something different). I've run it on a short frame 75, a Shadow frame and recently in my TS Orange. It's basically "the slut" of my CZ components. :P

Yes it's a tac sport top end. These will have a CTS roll mark but from what I'm told, they are the same as the TS slide dimensionally.

Weight is right around 42 oz. I put some broken down weights and accushadow comparison below.

Slide with barrel and plastic guide rod plug is 17.45 oz. Accushadow slide with barrel and guide rod bushing comes in at 16.36 oz.

Guide rod weight .79 oz. Accushadow guide rod weight .54 oz.

Frame weight with my grips is 19.4 oz.

Frame weight of accushadow with same grips is 21.78 oz.

Mag with base pad is around 3.8 to 4 ounces.

Total gun weight the LSP comes in a little ligher than my accushadow.

I believe the dust cover is narrower on the CTS model....at least I had to machine my Tactical Sports slide down to fit the CZ75 frame. Everything else was the same.

Does the TSO represent any fundamental advantage over the TS in .40 S&W?

I'm thinking of getting one as a lefty for IPSC use. I had my TS9 modded by lowering the sights as well as epoxy grip casting to take those aluminum basepads. For the TS or TSO, I would use a Czechmate slide pin instead of the slide stop and shave the left safety so that I can install a DAA Standard Division thumbrest on its right frame.

I hate the Tactical Sports poor excuse for frame checkering (you may not have issue with it). They are about 1-2 mm cast pyramids on the frame. I had a Tactical Sports that I removed it from, undercut and hand checkered the rear strap then had recoated. It was a fair bit of time. The Tactical Sports Orange already comes with that similar feature. It also has adjustable sights, a fiber optic front sight, 3 magazines, a gas pedal (not sure if that's for me yet), a tight lock up and some spare parts. I'd be pressed to say you could do all that yourself for an additional $350. That's why I bought one as a spare. If the mentioned features aren't a positive for you then I'd go with the standard Tactical Sports.

Does anybody use aftermarket basepads for this? What magazines can I use also? I am in Canada so I have the dumb half metal, half plastic ones and need 3 more mags so looking for suggestions?

I would be shooting in the US so I'd like some larger capacity mags. Not sure which ones work.

I just got my Orange (40S&W), but the CZ Custom basepads from my TS work fine with it's magazine well. I'd post a link to the CZ Custom pads but their website is down again. The CZ pads are pretty easy to remove and I get 21 with their springs and 20 with Grams springs and followers (supposed to get 21 in Grams). I'm going to try a couple Springer Precision pads next.

    You are good as is.

If you go rht do not buy black carbon fiber and orange inside, I have dibs.

Trying to waddle through the mystery of mags and springs. I think;  the CZ custom 10 coil spring and follower kit will let you add a round if you keep stock basepads, the CZ custom added capacity basepad + either their 13 coil spring and follower or the one you can get with a call to Grams (not on their website yet but available) will take you to 20 or 21. The grams is supposed to be different than the CZ Custom, I do not know the difference or which is preferable. Maybe somebody else has already tried this stuff.

I run both the Grams and CZ Custom followers and springs with CZ custom ext. base pads for 21 rounds. For whatever reason I can only get 21rds in the CZ custom follower. I've heard others have luck with the Grams. Both have run without issues.

  6. I machined the dust cover width of my slide to get mine to work. I had a thread on the CZ Forum (or here) and that was what was suggested. Others cut the inside of the frame. I like the idea of modifying the slide as my base platform remains unchanged.

I've had one on order since I first saw them mentioned in the forums.  I just contacted my dealer to ask when they expected them in.  He said he talked to his distributer and was told to expect to have my order filled March/April 2017.  This is for a .40 model.  I can wait but am really looking forward to it.  If it comes as advertised It will be really easy to build it into a .

40 Czechmate cheaply and have both a limited and open class gun.

Where are you getting the extended barrels to install a comp on the TS slide? I had asked CZ Custom if one could buy Czechmate uppers and at the time it wasn't possible so I kinda forgot about making the TS into an open gun.

you know that RD costs money right? that they spend thousands and thousands of hours going over the finest details in the drawings, optimizing things like the hole for the slide stop, the holes for the hammer, trigger, and more. Testing those ideas, until finally having the first prototypes, then taking what they learned there and refining more and more until finally (again) they had a prototype the team could take out into the wilds and play with. And even after that improvements were made. They also invested in a brand new production line with state of the art equipment, robots, cnc machines (run by the robots even), new investments in their casting and on and on and on. Those things all cost money, they need to make that money back in certain amount of time (no idea what that is) so the price point reflects that. It's not a simple thing to do what they did, however, now, going forward they will be able to these things easier and quicker thanks to the things they learned from this project.

So yeah, I think the gun is worth the extra, but then again, it's cheaper than the Shadows I was using prior to the 2's existence, Canadian Shadomates were in the 2 grand area for us, this gun is only 1400.

As for the feel in the hand, it looks very similar but the fit is different, it's still not as natural for me to shoot one as it is a Shadow, it sits ever so slightly different and I come out to the target with the front sight high. I only at about 12,000 rounds through them, but various ones, with different grips, different sights etc, only now that I have my own will I get any consistency out of shooting one, until I head overseas again lol

Mat can you post some pics of your beast, including serial number if that doesn't weird you out. I'm curious as to what batch yours is from

If they are $1379 Canadian dollars then that would be 25356 Czech Koruna. The exchange rate should therefore be 1,018 USD. I think good marketing and seeking the profit of insatiable US customers is going on here and as I stated before I'll probably be sucker for it.

  9. Interesting question. What is the customer getting?

    1) New frame; same investment casting...not worth more money.

    2) Checkering; There is some value here if you don't dig grip tape. (+$75?)

    3) Adjustable rear sight; Also some value. (+$50)

    4) Redesign of the magazine button; I could go either way on this one. (+$10)

    5) Aluminum grips; I'll probably ditch this ASAP but that's a personal preference (+$40)

    6) Thin safeties; Again, this could go either way (shouldn't be an up charge).

    7) Additional slide machining....industrial design as far as I'm concerned and followed the P07/P09 "lines" on a "value" pistol.

    What am I missing?

Don't get me wrong, I'll probably get one but I think $1300 is overpriced.

Springer precision has some extension options. Probably a little cheaper than those 170mm mags. $130 is a bit steep.

I just bought one from Springer. I think they will be a pain to clean but they came with a grams spring kit....for 1/2 the cost.

I picked up one with the faux can and absolutely love it after putting about 160 rounds thru it.

    Couple of questions:

    1)  Anyone know what mag pouches are a good fit for the Scorpion?  I was looking at the G-Code Softshell Scorpions (cheaper than a TACO), but wasn't sure whether I should get the pistol version or the rifle version.

    2)  I've heard there are folks working on basepads and/or extenders.  Any words on this?

    3)  Best trigger kit--what are the options, prices, and opinions?

To follow other aftermarket upgrades check out this link http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=78944.0 on the CZ forum.

    1.) I'm trying some 5.11 MP5 magazine pouches...not here yet.

2.) CZ Custom has base pads. I've not used them...at $20 a magazine I can afford more.

3.) I've put in an HB Industries trigger and spring and polished the action surfaces. It's definitely improved from the stock version. The reset needs to be shorter but I'm not sure how to do that without an entire trigger re-design. I suppose someone will figure it out.

The Palm swell grips by LOK are very similar to the the OEM Rubber Grips. The LOK palm swell are slightly larger, developed off the wooden grips on the 40th anniversary. The grips in this post are a close clone to the factory flat triangle grips with added grip and sharper edges.

Thanks, the palm swell look like what I am after.

  13. It can happen. CZ custom offers a thicker mag break to eliminate the possibility of this happening. I believe the mag break serves to stop the magazine from interacting with the hammer spring. The factory mag break also allows for the addition of a bend if you want your pistol to retain the magazine when you press the mag release.

    Solid mag break.

+1 I put these in all my CZ's.

  14. $100 says nobody outside Europe sees a production Shadow 2 in 2016

    .

100 Aussie Dollars or 100 USD? Either way, I'm afraid I'd lose too much.

I'm interested in buying one, but I'm not going to get stupid over the hype.
