  1. Ok, follow up question, if I bought an sp01 that was a decocker version (that had the tall sights and threaded barrel) AND an sp01 with a manual safety, could the top ends be swapped? Or are the slides and frames mated?
  2. Thanks guys. I was afraid of that. Cz is offering 2 suppressor ready guns, and it looks like neither can be converted. What rotten luck.
  3. Is it possible to convert an sp01 tactical (with the decocker) to single action only? New trigger, hammer, sear, safety? If not, how about a 75omega to SAO? I want/need a suppressor host, and I'd love a cz pattern gun. With a good trigger.
  4. I know right. They're like little diamonds. But they are what I could A) find and afford. If I didn't have a family I could be running a limited custom extreme and federal primers. But I can certainly try cutting coils. I do it do my marlin lever guns all the time.
  5. both. but particularly the hammer. I"m using wolf primers, and I have a ton of S&B to go through after that. This witness is the only gun I own that has ever had any problems with either brand. Maybe I just need the longer pin.....
  6. well, I'd rather not increase the hammer spring. I like a light pull, and I'm running light loads as well, so a heavy hammer spring would possibly mean having to up the charge to cycle. Vixty, I'm running a factory spring. Any idea what the weight on that would be?
  7. so I'm getting light strikes with my older 9mm match. It ran mostly fine for years (once light strike every couple hundred or so), but I recently switched presses to a dillon 650, and the primers are being seated deeper than there were before with the loadmaster. (hey you use what you can afford) So now I am getting light strikes maybe 1 every 20 rounds. They always go off with a second hit. So, since I can't really adjust the seating depth on the press, I guess I work on the gun. Here are the options I have identified: 1) buy the henning pin. might fix the problem, but I don't know how much longer it is so who knows. 2) trim the firing pin spring some. it kind of looks like spring tension and compressed length is the only thing keeping the pin from moving further forward? Spring is really long. 3) remove the firing pin block? maybe that is preventing forward movement or providing just enough friction to slow the pin down? Anybody have any thoughts? this is not a competition gun. Just my range piece.
  8. unless something has changed, EAA's website has no idea what is going on. For example, they list the match as having poly rifling, and while I have only seen 5 in person, none of them had poly rifling. And what they had pictured was an older model from what they were shipping. I have one of the old models with the supersight and the smooth dust cover. Only bad thing I could say about it is the rubber grips are too thick. way too thick. I swapped in a set of henning's grips and am very happy now. I liked the non-railed gun better too, and had to find a used one on the gun auction sites. Good luck.
  9. About a month after they released the new mags I just packed up my 3 9mm mags, 2 with rear spacers, 1 with no spacer and mailed them to EAA with a note saying "these don't work. sent me the new style made by mec-gar" 2 weeks later 3 new mags showed up and have been working great.
  10. Thanks pivo, I've been trying to get a good answer for a while. I've got the older match as well, in 9mm. I was thinking of upgrading to a limited, but run lead and haven't had much luck with it in poly barrels.
  11. Do the limited guns actually have polygonal rifling in their barrels? I've got a match that was advertised as poly, but came with regular rifling.
  12. I've got a 9mm elite match with the typical nosediving feeding problems. 2 weeks ago I sent my 3 old mags (2 no spacer, 1 front spacer) in to EAA and asked them to replace them with the new mec-gar mags under warranty. Today in the mail I received 3 brand new mecgar replacement mags. Total cost: about $3 in shipping. woot! PS: man these springs are stiff.
  13. I wound up getting a semi local bolt company to mail me some stainless screws free as a "sample." They work great.
  14. none at my local fastenal branch, but I like in a small town. they could order them for me, but it was going to be $8 shipping on a 12 cent screw. I just couldn't do it.
  15. yep, they're m3's. unfortunately ACE only goes down to m4 in their set screws. mail order here I come.
  16. anybody know what thread and pitch the Witness elite match pre and over travel trigger set screws are?
  17. I searched all over for some grips that would fit. All I found was henning, who's a great guy. hogue, czcustom, and everybody else only makes grips for small frame guns. After much hand wringing, I sprung for henning, and they're nice, but I really wish he would make them out of plastic and sell them for $45. or at least make them a little bigger so they covered at least the same frame area as the stock grips. I couldn't find any pictures of his grips on a gun online, so I'll post a couple. The regular grip width measured out 1.35 inches, and Henning's grips reduced it to 1.2 inches. You need to buy the Henning's torx screws. the factory screw heads are too big for Hennings's holes. Or you can try turning your heads down or going to the hardware store.
  18. pivoproseem, since it seems like you have all 3, in terns of thickness, not weight, how do the walnut grips compare to the rubber ones? or even the hennings? I find my rubber ones too thick and would love something thinner, and I hear henning is thinnest, but wow! pricey.
  19. I bought a 9mm witness elite match recently that came with a Fobus paddle double mag pouch. the mags work just fine with it. I believe it is idpa legal, but I don't shoot idpa so I could be wrong. I can't find a model number on it to tell you though. I can post a picture if you're interested. heck, I don't need it, I can make you a deal on it if you want one bad.
