  1. That would be a great opportunity for you to shoot with the Cajuns, we're a friendly, fun-loving bunch. But from what I have seen that is most of the people that shoot
  2. Seems like the long-time shooters I have met are using the 5" guns, but they are hard to come by. I started with a 4.25" 40, and I am still using it, to which I have added an Apex AEK, Dawson FO front sights, Dawson fixed rear, and SSS ESP magwell. I just got my M&P 40 Pro last week and haven't shot it yet but plan to move forward with it and keep my original 40 as a back-up gun. Was told today by my gun guy that S&W currently has a contract with BATFE and a foreign government to provide them with weapons so guns are slow coming out of their facility right now
  3. Welcome aboard - everything you could possibly think of is only a click away here
  4. Just picked up my M&P 40 Pro and I am anxious to get her up and running. I know a lot of you have been looking and I don't post this to snub anyone just had to share. Looks like I am going over to SSS to start ordering. I have a lot of practice as I am currently shooting a 4.25" M&P 40 with all of the accessories. Good luck everyone
  5. Found mine yesterday and is shipping to me today. Took almost 2 weeks to find it but thanks to the net and my having been to the gun store before things worked out.
  6. I have an M&P 4.24" pistol I am using for USPSA. I know most of you use the 5" pistol but it is what I had to start. Need to replace the dot sights, so I was looking yesterday and found a Warren Tactical Sevigny Competition set for this particular gun. The front sight height was .165. Dawson did not have it in stock so I asked what they had that was similar and they suggested their wide notch rear and a .180 front. Anyone have a similar experience in changing their sights on an M&P 4.25" pistol or any suggestions. Thanks
  7. You need to connect to your fellow OK shooters at www.boomershooter.com there are a ton of fellow shooters there from all over the state of OK and they have a vast array of experience.
  8. Welcome aboard, you could not find a better or friendlier place for help and assistance with this great sport. Man, with all of those opportunities to shoot maybe I need to relocate
  9. Welcome aboard from Alexandria. Looking forward to seeing you at some of our local shoots
  10. Cuurently looking into these at the suggestion of a member from another site. Look likes the best bang fot the buck http://www.esseyepro.com/ICE-Series-Eyeshields_18_category.html
  11. Got the mags in today and they are official S&W mags. Pretty good turn aound for the $8 shipping fee
  12. I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 to try my hand at competiton shooting. I have not been able to find any additional magazines anywhere. Today while eating lunch and surfing the web I found a post where in I was directed to Dunn's Sporting Goods in MO. They currently have the 15 rd M&P 40 magazines for $19.88 each. You can call and talk to Lauren at 636 475-4240. If you are interested don't wait as she told me that they sold out of over 200 this past weekend in the 9mm and that she only has about 200 in the 40.
  13. Thanks all for taking the time to reply. I am the Dad and my experience as far as shooting is fiarly extensive however I have never shot competition. My biggest challenge is reaching the magazine release and have read several posts where shooters develop techinques like rolling the gun in the hand while reaching for the extra magazine and that may be something i need to practice. I have also had someone suggest looking at the CZ pistols and the 75 BD has cuaght my interest but as of yet I have not handled one. I will continue to look to you guys for your experiences. thanks all
  14. Son has recentoly started shooting competitive pistol matches in OK City area and has perked my interest in the sport. Told me this is where I need to be for information about the sport so be prepared I am sure I will have questions coming. Not new to shooting as I am an avid deer hunter and have done a good bit of recreational pistol shooting. Looking forward to spending more time here and thanks in advance for any help.
