  1. I suppose that's good news that at least we have something semi-official from Mossberg. Although their recommendation to place an order thru a dealer, I have a feeling that if you go to a dealer and order this competition model, they aren't going to know what you're talking about. Maybe I'm wrong.
  2. I was thinking about the combo model - this comes with 2 barrels. Seems if you are buying a new barrel, it'd be better to sell two rather than one, right?
  3. Does anyone who got the barrel from Edna get a part number, too? Maybe that's the easier route.
  4. Yes I do. I am eagerly awaiting delivery, hopefully this week. so, is it the benelli? looks like the cat might be outta the bag!
  5. Should be this month. I'll be sure to post pictures. Do you have an estimated price? I'm wondering if this is something I would even wait for. I'd like to stay in the $500-$750 range if possible but I'm getting a little itchy to get something.
  6. Get the 75 Shadow if you want one gun for both. It'd be a lot cheaper than a Custom and a Combat too. Well, I have the Shadow already from the custom shop. I thought I'd be interested in reducing the weight to get into IDPA SSP, but maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into another toy - the 85C. I know there are subtle differences, just curious how easy it'd be to go from one to the other in practice and competitions.
  7. I was curious, having a SP-01 Shadow Custom for USPSA, I had thought about trying to make weight into IDPA, but how would the ergomonics of the Shadow SP-01 and CZ85C compare? i.e. could you have the Shadow for USPSA and CZ85C for IPDA and go fairly easily between the two? Ideally, it'd be nice to have the same for both, but I'm wondering how having 2 different firearms might work.
  8. that'd be a bummer to hear that Edna is no longer with the company.
  9. Any updates on the production model either from Benny or Edna?
  10. Well, I ended up emailing Mr. Anderson and he was able to answer all of my questions. Copy of the book is on the way. I guess nobody else here has it!
  11. Does Steve Anderson's book just basically explain the dryfire exercises, or does it also provide a little training on the proper technique that should be used in the drill? I'm a very new shooter - I've taken a 6 hour "intro to competitive shooting" course, but that's about it. While I remember a lot from the class, I'm a little worried that if I start on a dryfire program, that I will start practicing bad techniques and then this in turn will lead to bad habits. I want to ensure I have the fundamentals down, too.
  12. Ok, so I went and got a rest and went to the range with the Shadow. I'm not sure what to make of the results. Some groups are high, some aren't that bad. Maybe I'm still getting use to the pistol? What do you think? Should I get a front sight that's a little higher, or is this shooting as expected? Again, I've only been shooting for a couple years, so take that into account and this is only the 3rd trip to the range with this particular firearm. I think a little bit is probably getting used to the Shadow and some part is needed training on my end. I did get a Dan Wesson Valor 1911 at the same time as the Shadow and can keep pretty tight groups, much better than is shown here. So while I'm no marksman, it could be worse (I hope!) and I'm pretty confident I'm capable of shooting half decently. First up is 7 shots @ 7 yds from a rest Next up is 7 shots @ 15 yds from a rest And then 7 shots @ 20 yds from the rest Then we have 10 shots @ 7 yds standing And the final pic, the top and bottom groups were rapid fire (10 shots each), the middle group was actually my very first grouping to get everything a little warmed up before I got out the rest. All of these were shot without the rest.
  13. I've got a credit card ready whenever you are!
  14. The 3-gun ready model - I assume the same one that is being sent to Benny?
  15. Edna, do you have ANY idea when these might be available for purchase?
  16. I found this on the CZ Forum when doing some searching, and this is what I believe I am doing. Again, going to test this out again, paying very close attention with a rest and have someone else verify. This is my first time with a FO sight so perhaps its throwing me off a little. I've also heard back from CZ Custom already and as always, they're great to work with.
  17. I was using some Federal and Remington std ammo from walmart. I had hoped that it was just me the first time I shot it. Took it out again this weekend and was seeing the same thing. I found out that I could adjust the shot by making sure the front site was a tad lower than the rears when lining everything up, but I'm not sure I want to try and get used to that. On a side note, I also got a Dan Wesson Valor from them at the same time and man, is that thing accurate. Shoots a very tight group exactly where I want it. In fact, I didn't even know I could shoot that good. I'll give it one more shot at the range and then hook up with CZ Custom and see what they say. Edit to add: Did you guys see this deal? http://czcustom.com/special483.aspx I wish this would have been available when I ordered 2 weeks ago. Looks like a nice value.
  18. Hey guys, I got a Shadow Custom a few weeks ago (the $1200 one) and while I like it, I have found that it seems to shoot a few inches high. Being that the sites are not adjustable, what are my options? Other than that, its ran flawlessly. It still seeping oil. I've taken it apart twice and wiped down everything that I can, but I assume this will slow with time.
  19. Guys, thanks for all of the tips. I was laying in bed last nite, wondering if I had the shims somehow installed incorrectly. I had them veritical, instead of horizontal. Then I wake up and see this pic (thanks!) and see that yes, indeed, that is the case. Now that I see how they're installed, we're good to go!
  20. But how to I get the mags in the pouches in the first place? With the insert one way, its way too tight, but with it flipped 180 degrees, its way too loose.
  21. thanks for the thoughts...easy enough. Any ideas on the mag pouches would be greatly appreciated.
  22. As you can tell, I'm very new to this..... So I got a new CR Speed belt and mag holsters. With the belt there are 2 separate pieces. Does the inner one go thru your belt loops and is there where all of the equipment attaches? Then does the outer belt go over all of that, outside of the belt loops? With the mag pouches, I've removed the plastic piece and put in the "shim" labeled CZ, yet the space is way too small for my SP01 Shadow mags. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks guys.
  23. I have 4 singles coming tomorrow, along with a CR speed belt and a blade tech holster. Oh, and a couple firearms.

    CZ Magazines

Let me ask this....what mags can you buy that are the same as the ones that come with the shadow (and that aren't $50 from CZ)? I'm going to start USPSA this summer, but have never competed. I would think you'd want all of the mags to be identical? Is that a big deal?
